I didn’t log in until after the patch, got two dailies in WvW, they didn’t show up when I returned to PvP. I related in, now it’s saying I did get those two, but I’ve chopped down half of Brazil and still can’t get the last tree (got three of four in home instance for the third daily. Definitely bugged.

I’ve given it a few days, I’ve tried them and hate them. It completely ruins the continuity of my play. If I want dailies, I’ve got to spend all of my play time chasing them instead of being able to integrate them into the other things I’m doing. I’m especially annoyed as I went in to do the Jormag even for dailies and as soon as it started, the client dumped me AGAIN (happens several times a day since the last update). When I logged back in, I wound up in an empty map, so no Jormag. So I set off chasing Maguman events. Spent well over an hour just trying to wait for them to spawn and get there before the 500 other people wanting the same daily finished it.

Lessons learned, either I do dailies (aka jump through hoops for Anet’s amusment), or I play the game, but not both. Oh what fun.

I will turn 50 this year, meaning I get my AARP card, Is there any discount on the BLTC for card carrying oldsters like myself?

Who the heck are you calling “oldsters” at 50?

AARP cards have been going in the trash can for the last 7 years when they show up at my house.

-Not interested in legendary walker or ascended dentures.

Ascended dentures on autoattack. Sounds like a balancing problem that would bite ANet on the butt.

Dentures of the Ancient God:

250 Vicious Fangs
250 Ancient Wood Planks
50 Globs of Ectoplasm
250 Piles of Crystalline Dust

And after every 1000 aa’s, you need to polish them with another 25 piles of crystalline dust.

Sounds like a Necro skill to me. When you’re waiting for the recharge, you can gum the enemy to death

I remember spending hours typing in code when there were no disks available. Ah, good times.

Just wanted to say that the BLTC has been working for me consistantly since the last patch. Huge improvement!

BLTP not working again for me either. It’s been at least 2 days now. Submitted bug report today. Tried deleting GW2 folder from my application support file in the library but that didn’t work either.

The do-it-yourself workaround . . . hilarious.

Someone takes their car into the dealership because it isn’t running properly. The car dealer says, “Yep, there’s a problem with this model.”

Owner of the vehicle says, “Will you fix it?”

Dealer says, “I can, but rather than repair my work I am going to give you the parts and tell you how to fix it yourself.”

Brilliant.

Of course that won’t happen. Your garage guy will keep your car for another two or three days and then charge you for the pleasure of waiting for it.

Workarounds are very commen in IT because you can’t just plant code in at any old time you feel like it. If you don’t feel like doing the workaround, then don’t. Your choice.

Not that I’m not irritated, but they really aren’t just doing this to be sadistic, because they don’t care or think we ought to be doing the work ourselves. I rather imagine it’s a thorn in their own sides as well.

I finally got BLTP access yesterday evening several hours after implementing the fix (I’m in Europe, so morning for most of you). Since then it’s gone back to it’s normal spotty access. Log off, log back on until I finally get access.

Is anyone from Anet reading any of this? It would be good to hear from you today.

This is only a partial fix. I can now get onto the gem store (after rebooting my comp and logging in twice), but cannot access anything else other than the pick up.

I know this is probably causing someone sleepless nights because the individuals working on this are bound to care, even if it isn’t really a company priority. So staying positive, on the bright side, at least I was able to get a free bank tab and a couple of character slots at the sale price. I also have great guildies who are offering to sell my stuff for me in the meantime. It’s not a brilliant workaround, but if you’ve got friends in the game, ask them to help you buy what you need, sell your stuff for you and then work out between yourselves how much dosh you need to exchange. Progress possible and it’s better than just complaining.

Just don’t let the mail system crash Anet…

I’ve been fairly happy with the Mac client thus far and seem to be experiencing far fewer issues than other players. The only thing that seriously causes me problems is the BLTP. A day down and I’ll live, two days and it starts getting annoying, I’m now on day three and have so much stuff saved up to sell it’s not even funny. I also can’t craft like I’d like to because I can’t get on to buy extra supplies. I’m trying to get a couple of characters levelled up before next week but can’t even craft my own armour for that.

Which brings me to communication: There are always tweets for general problems, but I haven’t seen a single mention of this problem on Twitter. Do you think Mac users don’t use social media? Or do you just consider us a minority that’s a nice to have income, but really you could do without us? Speaking as someone who spends money on this game, I kind of resent the lack of communication and care on a daily basis.
Having said that, I will add that I got fabulous support from you when I had an issue with my client transfer to my new Mac. However, that was a one on one thing and not a heads up that you actually know about the issues and are addressing them. It would be nice if I didn’t actually have to go to the forums and check to see whether or not you give a kitten and if you’re on it. It would only cost you a tweet.

I’d like to add that if you need real life testers, I’d volunteer. I’m a second and third level software supporter during the day, so testing isn’t new to me. If it would help you to help me, it would be worth the pain that testing so often is.

The tg update went away for me and has now reappeared since the last patch release.

The camera issue can be “fixed” by windowing the GW2 client, clicking in another app, scrolling a bit and then going back into GW2. It’s not great, but at least you can play.

And it’s not true that they don’t support Mavericks. I had severe issues with my new MacBook and got great support. Fortunately, it was resolved when my MacBook was replaced by Apple due to another issue, but they were able to get me up and running with the faulty one.
