Guild Wars 2

The graphics settings in both games are identical for testing purposes. I will check the temperatures and the GPU slot (which might quite possibly be in the wrong slot since I dusted it out a few months ago).

So, I am looking for comments/suggestions.

I have been noticing that my Desktop has been outperformed by my laptop when playing GW2 on the same settings. Looking at the specs, my desktop has my laptop beat by every measure (with a minor possible exception in CPU).

Desktop: Runs PvE ~40 (depending if reflections are present). Cities ~20.

Core i7 – 920 (OCed to 3.8-4.0)
RAM 8gb
HDD 7200RPM (about to upgrade to SSD)
Video Card: HD 6870 1gb

Laptop: Runs PvE at 60+ fps no problem. Cities 40-60.

Core i7 – Intel Core i7-2630QM (2.0GHz)
RAM – 4gb
HDD – 5400RPM
Video Card: HD6570M

Any ideas? I am going to reinstall Windows 7 on the desktop and start fresh with all the drivers to see if that helps.
