Legendary weapons

Honestly, I don’t mind a delay in them, I just want to know they are coming eventually. Perhaps it is a little preemptive to decide to postpone them indefinitely? Leaving set 2 unfinished is just sloppy – and I don’t really understand why it is necessary when there is an entire set of gemstore weapons coming out at a consistent rate. From your customer’s point of view, this is not a good image, even if it is two different teams working on them.
Why not slow down on gemstore for a bit and finish the legendary set that has already been started? That would win major points. I have worked in retail, and I can tell you right now, the successful companies are the ones that put customer loyalty before a few bucks here and there. Slow progress is better than no progress.

Of course, I support the decision to shift focus towards the core experience – it has been much needed, and tightening up the main game is obviously of significant importance.

We will all be watching, and hoping that you can get things on track over the coming months. You have a lot of people who love this game – you can see it by the amount of responses in this post alone. It may not always be obvious, but all of us here just want to see the game (and by extension, you) succeed.

WvW no longer required for world completion

Wow, I am amazed at how much complaining there is lol. Guess I should have known there would be since it is a change to the game, though.

It is about time this change happened. I was fortunate enough to be on an average WvW server and was able to complete the maps in about a month, the majority of which was waiting for three strongholds. Sure a big argument is that one should have experience in everything before owning a legendary, but this requirement never did that. All it did was get me experienced in checking the map I needed every hour and running to the place once it was open or possibly taken. There are so many other requirements that would have taken some PvP prowess, but this wasn’t one.

Anyways, I for one am happy that this change happened, even though I already had my world completion finished. About time.

I Don't Want to Farm Anymore

Yeah sure, no need to farm in GW2.. sure ! Are we really playing the same game ?

It isn’t that there NO grind or farming, but that basically all of it is entirely optional. Fractals being the exception obviously.

You can easily get 2-3 exotic weapons for 10g total or less.
Multiple sets of armor for different stats and runes is completely unnecessary unless you want to run at maximum efficiency. I have been able to easily complete the majority of the game’s content with just one set of rare armor and basic exotics/rare weapons which I was able to acquire by the time I hit 80 for the first time, or soon after.

Any grind is just a personal choice and depends on what your goals are. It isn’t necessary to complete the game whatsoever apart from fractals. Honestly, this is one of the best MMO’s I’ve ever played in terms of forced grind because there really is none. Try playing any other MMO where you have to hit a stupidly high level that takes hundreds of hours to reach, or have ridiculous items just to be able to access and stand a chance at completing content. THAT is grind. This game has no forced grind. If you’re grinding in this game, it is your own decision.

GW-GW2-linking issue: unable to link accounts

in Account & Technical Support

Slight addition to nVu’s post.

This is following the steps (which are pretty clear).
1. Log in to GW2 site.
2. Link accounts, and enter the GW1 info. Works great so far. Takes us to the “are you sure you want to link, etc.” page.
3. Hit OK. and this is the step where everything falls apart.

After that it says the accounts are linked, but the display name is the string of characters. It also says “The following GW2 account information will now be used to log in to both games” and then lists my gw1 account instead of the gw2 account. As soon as I log out and check the profile again, nothing I just did was saved.

If I try to log in to the game before relogging after linking the accounts, the gw1 info it said it would use doesn’t work since there’s no serial number registered to that email, and the gw2 info won’t work because it “hasn’t been verified” (but after everything clears again, I can log in as normal with my gw2 email)
