Shatter mesmer can beat ele if played right, best time to burst is when they are just leaving earth or in fire, cry of frustration is also very useful after they leave water and to strip annoying boons like stab abd protection.

This tutorial has a mistake. Fire aura (from earth skill 3 + ring of fire) do not work with Elemental Shielding and will NOT grant you 4 seconds of protection from the trait.

Leaping thru fire field with earth 3 will grant you fire aura and profs the elemental shielding trait :-)

Really good Mesmer.. played with him a couple times and he is very good at what he does.. In my opinion I would say he’s definitely in the top 3 as far as mesmers go.

ferox is actually a very tactical/strategic player rate 10/10, however needs map awareness and a little better mechanical skill level. other than that overall 8.5/10 good pickup

Hello, Thrackit here, I recently made a video to help the beginning to average player become better at this build. As a player gets better, they discover their own personal tactics and stradegies to help their play style. It is quite a long video but the video goes over individual traits, explaining attunments, utilities, elites, rotations, might stacking and overcoming different classes using the build; also includes the very minimal basics on team fighting. Sorry for the voice mistakes in the video.

Hello im a previous sharks with lazers member, i was their dd ele. I recently had computer and net problems and was unable to play so i was replaced which is fine. However now that i have moved and bought a new computer i am back and ready to play competitive play again. I honestly do not play thief much I only have about 800 hours on theif but it is mainly S/D but I can honestly say that the s/d 3 skills is a huge nerf

It will still be easy to land Flanking strike. Again, like I said, you can bait their dodges and then flanking strike —-> larcenous strike, use basilisk venom combo, or just straight up use it without doing any of those things and have it hit. If you can land CnD normally you can land Flanking strike easily. It has 1/2 second cast time, which is the same cast time as CnD and you land it all the time, I’ve seen it in your videos. If you can land CnD that much I’m sure you can land Flanking strike.

When playing crit strikes and acro u really don’t want to be around cleave/aoe attacks long as you well get melted so CnD isn’t the best option in 80 percent of cases when using these builds. CnD is almost a pure Shadow arts weapon skill. ( Emphasis on the almost) and bait dodges when you are one of most glassiest classes in the game? So you want to just auto attack and waste initiative til they dodge before you can land your burst? okay… makes sense since the theifs job is to do quick in and out burst damage.

Nah, I don’t think so. I play S/D at times and this will not destroy S/D. If the problem is that you wont be able to hit larcenous strike, just bait some dodges with fake CnD’s and use flanking strike then. It also encourages the player to be smart and rewards better, smarter play, which is good for a thief. Plus more autoattack pressure and encourages more daze pressure.

I do not think S/D is broken.

If you’re that upset then just switch weaponsets. If it’s THAT awful of an experience for you because you can’t land a flanking strike then switch to d/d or d/p or something. Who knows, maybe you could make the new p/p meta. It’s getting buffed.

coming from someone that uses s/d sometimes huh okay. Amonatory has mained S/D since the release of this game and im sure he knows what he is talking about. You do not realize how easy it is to dodge/blind/block one of the most telegraphed skills in the game. ( flanking strike) and you can make the argument that u can bassy them first or even sleight of hand them first but why should a weapon skill rely on a 20-45 second cooldown to be able to land. You cant even say that only 3 spammers use it because you are still gonna be able to 3 spam no matter what with this update or not so that argument is also invalid. larc strike is the only good dealing damage for a crit strike/acro theif. Also, another point, whats the point of having larc strike unblockable if you flank strike into a block and cant get larc strike. Please learn the weapon set and main it for more than a month before you call out one of the best theifs in the game. Also, I wasn’t aware that auto attack spam results in daze, correct me if im wrong.

We are not looking for win/loss ratio in particular, what we are looking for is how you fit into our team, how well you do under pressure with your class, what you can contribute to 2v2s and 3v3s and teamfights as a whole. Most importantly, I want this person to be able to keep cool through a losing situation and provide cooperation in this scenario, and be able to take criticism when needed and is able to input criticism if noticing something that isn’t right and should be fixed.

I play a support bunk guard on NA and I am online quite often, maybe even too much ;D. Anyways I have around 70% win rate with my guardian pvp stats( and I dont always play with people mainly Yolo or with random friend premades) I am currently rank 80 and around 200 on the LBs. I correct my comment I see now that it is a rifle. But if still use a precision sigil. Its not too expensive and wud definitely help those crits for burns

I wouldn’t pay attention to ignorant comments like that. In my opinion I am impressed with this build except I dont think I’d use pistol id use rifle and maybe a bloodlust or precision sigil to get great use out of ur might stacks. Since you are using the burning on crits a precision stacking sigil wud be nice. Even though you are using soldiers amulet with many stacks of might the condition burn crit hits wud do nice damage so more precision wud be ideal. Also the reason I say rifle cuz it has more dps potential then pistol. Even though u will be in flamethrower kit most of the time the rifle skills are very useful to pop into and use and switch back to flamethrower. I am assuming this is for pve?
