Turai Ossa is, in fact, so awesome that an entire section of the afterlife is devoted specifically to proving oneself worthy of walking with the guy.

This.

Does anyone still remember playing him in the Bonus Mission Pack? The guy is so giant and awesome and just slaughters entire armies of undead single handed. He is in fact so giant that he even has “giant stomp” equipped.

I am excited to see what the dailies will be available next. I also hope that there is one for Jumping Puzzles. But hopefully for completing it and not just finding the entrance!

It sure would be nice to have more advance dailies so that veteran players could do some of the more challenging content while doing their daily.

Dungeon paths, fractals and even wvw have been included in the monthlies in the past. It would be kinda silly to have the same tasks in both daily and monthly achievements.

Also. Dungeons normally include lots of enemies (Daily Slayer), veterans & champions and even events. So you now actually can do your daily entirely in a dungeon.

Yes it is much better.. ever since the laurels were introduced the dailies have become very important to complete. Guildies are making sure they do dailies before doing anything with the rest of us which has noticably disrupted socialisation and group play.

I don’t quite understand that because dailies can be completed together? But then again, I mostly play alone.

Personally, I wish the dailies were either easier or didnt have important currency like laurels.

I think they have bumped down the time it takes to complete the daily quite a bit. Take today as an example:

  • Leveler: Shouldn’t take too long. Maybe if you’re really unlucky and you just leveled up before you logged out and only have a single char. For me, it took about 10min.
  • Daily Champion Slayer: In Qdale this will take you 5min.
  • Ambient Killer: How long will it take to kill 30 critters? Maybe 5min?
  • Karma Spender: Instant.
  • Daily Gatherer: Also just a few minutes.

So today maybe 15 to 20min? If you’re really pushing it …

Dailies were supposed to reward you for playing each day, without it being something you had to pay much attention to.

They were supposed to be like this – before there was a daily rotation. But now they give you a (different) little fun challenge every day. I actually prefer the latter.

It took a moment to figure out what “ambient killer” meant, after that it was a breeze. There are a lot less bugs (and bunnies) in Tyria now.

Haha, yes! I actually had a tough time finding any at all this morning. I guess the the tyria pest control is very efficient today.

I hadn’t been to Metrica in quite some time… uh oh… the plan to get people into areas like that just might be starting to work!

What is special there today regarding the daily? Maybe I missed something

The recent changes to the daily achievements and UI have been an absolute success. I love logging in and not being forced down a narrow path but “choosing my adventure”. ANet’s slogan came to life!

The new achievements offer far more variety every day and actually make me want to play for the sake of playing rather than just massing laurels and ultimately gear or gold. The feel rewarding, fresh and non-restrictive to me.

The recent UI changes are a stunner. I can now track any achievement or disable the tracker all together. It provides exactly what information I need. No more opening the hero tab and looking for the achievement I wish to do next.

My game experience is indirectly improved because more people seem to do things in the open world that just weren’t as attractive before. People are actually slaying champions and are doing the harder Group Events outside of Queensdale, Keg brawl sees a revive on low pop servers – the list is long.

I especially like these new achievements:

  • Group event Completer and Daily Champion Slayer: Finally mobs get taken down that most people never touched before!
  • Personal Story Completer and Leveler: Finally something that caters for people that enjoy making new characters and play the Personal Story. Fits my play style 100%.
  • Ambient Killer: The most fun so far. I always shoot critters but now there is an extra reason to do so!
  • Karma Spender: Also useful for casuals or people that have alts that may still depend on green items and/or not have reached lvl80 yet. And 750 is really fair given how plentiful Karma is.

My favorite part about this whole thing is that you can actually choose to do or not do certain things. People that like to focus on a single character rather than multiple ones still have enough variety to choose from. Noone is left behind. Noone is forced to do anything.

This is a great feature and I love to see the rest of the new daily achievements!

I will never understand why people first write an essay about how big their yt channel is, how many decades they played whatever morpg and how many kittens they own.

Does it make your opinion more important? No.

Do you make any valid point that hasn’t been made hundreds of times before? No.

Not to be offensive, but to have the Dredge somehow patterned after the Soviets […] went a bit too far imho. They should have been kept distinctive.

I also feel this way. The reference to the Soviets was there, from the day they were introduced to us in the Furnace of Sorrow update. But back then, it was a lot more subtle and therefore enjoyable. Now it’s pretty bland and boring.

Also, I liked the dredge a lot more in the original game. Starting from their more bulky appearance, weaponry and most importantly: sound. The new sounds are just too high pitched and annoying.
