I generally ignore what guilds say. If they are too annoying I will even tag up to attract more randoms and put the wrong combo fields down.
Its an open world map, you can go wherever you want at any time you want. If they become abusive report+block them.Aw, get buttthurt because they don’t want you so you try to sabotage them? I bet you just ooze skill out of every orifice. I will never understand people who are against organization. You ever think about just asking to get on comms with them? Do something useful, don’t just play against them.
Guild groups are a waste of slots on map. Most of them dont scout or defend anything.
They only look for fights to farm some worthless bags or kill count they could get faster in obsidian sanctum farm.
God forbid people choose to pvp in a mass-pvp game mode…
I don’ t care at all. I could count only 1 or 2 rangers there.
Anet hasn’ t fixed rangers after nearly 3 years…and for this I’ m loosing interest in anything related to gw2.
I hardly log in anymore. Reason? Couse i love Ranger but Anet doesn’t. It’ s still broken and everyone knows.Ps: l2p issue? No It’ s a broken class issue
Not sure what you’re on about. Condi survival, Read the Wind, and S/T A/D condi are all highly ranked metabattle builds and do exceedingly well in spvp. I’d say it’s very much a l2p issue.
The whole point of my comparison was to illustrate that it’s possible to flip everything regardless of your matchup. Yeah, it sucks that some matchups are steamrolls and the PvE scrub on the winning server can complete his map completion in a day, while the other two servers fight tooth and nail for theirs. But those matchups do not last forever, and just because you can’t get something this matchup doesn’t mean you won’t be able to get it the next.
I don’t expect you to take a sick day to get a vista, nor do I expect you to stay up until 4 AM, but WvW is not fair or balanced. Just get creative. Get some friends to stealth you, then all you need to do is open whatever structure you need. You don’t have to actually cap anything. Like Rimmy said, if you come into WvW and expect to have anything handed to you, you’d better think again. I kill map completionists all the time without remorse. You want that vista? Take it by force.
Every single objective in your matchup has been flipped, with the exception of your own EB keep. Just because you weren’t there when it happened doesn’t mean there’s some inherent flaw to the matchup system. Also, you’re on SFR complaining about map completion? What a joke.
I’d recommend you play a heavy first to get the hang of the game. Guardian and Warrior are pretty equal in terms of difficulty in my opinion. Guards may have less health, but they have plenty of blocks and invulnerability to make up for it. Front line tends to be easier to play at first because you’re naturally tanky and have others to support you.
Back line is a bit tougher. The back line tends to be where the majority of a zerg’s damage comes from, which means you will want to run as glassy as you feel comfortable doing. If you don’t want to play a heavy class, I’d recommend either Mesmer or Necro.
Mesmers are typically able to run whatever build they choose which offers a lot of flexibility for your play style, as long as you run the right utilities (veil, mass invis, occasionally portal). Mesmer’s are a bit more forgiving than necros because you have several ways to escape if you’re positioned poorly.
Necros are desired because they do remarkable aoe damage (primarily with wells), they can boon rip, chill, and blind entire groups. You’ll typically run full glass as a necro, which requires you to use your dodge rolls well, position yourself away from harm, and know when to bomb on the enemy group. Necros also do not have strong escape mechanisms, so you live and die by your positioning. This can be tricky for a new player to adapt to.
I would not suggest you play as an ele until you get the hang of the game. Eles probably have the toughest and most important job in zerg fights, and you will be the first target for the enemy zerg. Eles are in charge of providing water and fire fields for the melee train, control skills for the enemy zerg, and aoe damage. Most eles run glass builds, and cantrips for utilities, which are your ways to escape sticky situations.
I would also not suggest playing other classes for zerg fights. Rangers provide zero support for the melee and really only excel at single target dps. They can drop eles or focus the enemy driver, but you’ll be running a very glassy build with very few escapes. Thieves should only be used in zerg fights by skilled players, as they need to kill the enemy backline quickly and be able to avoid all damage, otherwise they’re useless. Engineers can be used in zergs I suppose, though I almost never see them. Grenades are a possible weapon choice, but retaliation will kill a nade engi within a few seconds. I’ve heard of using bomb kit and building tanky to run alongside the melee train, though I don’t know how effective this is.
Anyway, it’s up to you to decide how you want to play and what you’re most comfortable doing. I’d recommend you ask around on your server to find a guild that emphasizes fighting and get their opinions. Every driver is different in how they command, and what they expect from each class.

My only precursor drop came from wvw. I got Zap in the middle of a zerg fight. But yeah, your chances are substantially better doing the boss train or the mystic forge.
Spawn camping really sucks and I’ll apologize on behalf of those who decide to drop siege in this instance. I can almost guarantee you it was not an active wvw-er or guild that placed those. DH has plenty of pve pugs that only show up in wvw when we’re already winning, which is probably why you’ve primarily seen, as you say, blobs that get wrecked by hammer trains. This week we’ve worked on getting new commanders and new players interested in wvw, and there’s always the possibility of things like this happening.
Honestly, we hate this matchup more than you guys do. None of our guilds have even been running organized ops because what’s the point? It’s not fair that you fight a server with far greater numbers and coverage and active zerg busters to boot. In any case, thank you for pointing this out because I have a feeling it will be brought up in the days to follow.
