I guess that sums this issue up nicely… Sadly GW2 is becoming completely about luck, wealth accumulation though farming or tp and somewhere in a tiny dark forgotten corner is acquisition of unique gear through skill. A corner yet to be found.

Very few things compel me to log in to forums, but this is a highlight I think that is quite important, and potentially missing from the game currently.

Two of the most enjoyable things I found so far in Guild Wars 2 has been Liadri and Fractals, this is partly on the basis that it involves skill over currency (and empowers my appearance meaningfully).

Those are the only two options that are presented to me that can show off my dedication towards defeating serious challenges, whilst earning rewards that focus away from heavy event reliance.

::: Returning to the topic however :::

A developer comment would clear the air about the Chaos of Lyssa (perhaps for many) – even if it were acknowledged to be under investigation or to be announced they would refuse to comment. It seems a shame people are stretching themselves so thin to get an item that is crushing its admiring audience.

I am worried, however, that with the tensions the community is eager to fill in the “missing gap” regarding the difficulties we’ve been having trying to acquire said item

(clearly exploitative high demand and low supply shows a glowing highlight of the community concern: including and not limited to once-a-year acquirement chances).

I’ve just been wondering, am I one of the only ones that is running around with a Tempered Spinal Blades(or greater form) backpiece without any stats; only because Carrion is missing from the ascended gear?

I understand there might be a potentially future-planned release for carrion ascended gear, but with the spinal blades pack, we might not get a chance to set it again if fully upgraded .

My “niggle”:

I’m just at a loss why stats like Berserker can be primed for use – but Carrion is left out in what appears to be favoring for Ravagers or Dire/Rabid mixtures (not forgetting rampagers or apoth).

Using hybrid stats is all well and good to promote new builds – but removing choice isn’t fair or enabling diversity if other prime stats are allowed as well.

Screenshots signs the deal, could you provide one for analysis?

I’ve also upgraded system recently, same graphics card and different motherboard.
I upgraded between the last update and found that my old settings were cleaned out – so my graphics settings were off – know that there are additional features in the graphics settings such as depth blurring to improve game setting un-checking this may help you.

Keeping hardware drivers up-to-date also aids processing of graphics – try finding your graphics card model and see if there is a driver supporting your operating system on the company/official website.

I’ve also noticed a change with my graphics card, I find it hard to gather my character’s presence and natural environmental depth, but I’ve adjusted the settings the best I can to return it to a playable state.

I recently acquired a new motherboard and re-installed GW2, I’d just upgraded between a major living event patch and see there is a lot of new content adjustments as well.

I noticed that a few sounds are missing from my game experience that are really off putting during a battle, as a Mesmer I often use mind stab, chaos storm and chaos armor relatively frequently.
Sounds such as the chaotic laughter from storm and the shattering sound from mind stab is completely absent – chaos armor sounds normal, but has an overlay of what I can only describe as a water pump.

After much testing I can determine other classes I play suffer as well. I know that my headset worked fine on my old system and still use it on the new – the odd part is that I’m still using the same sound card yet the results are different, the on-board sound hardware are the only real changing factor.

I’ve tested with latest up to date drivers for “win7 64bit” related software/hardware with no success, I’ve run the repair protocol for the guild wars 2 client, no change.

My main question is – would installing a sound card work with a USB sound card be a waste? ; given that the on-board sound system fails to assist my headset, and also the separate USB connection?

  • “Acer M3910” – information leads little to on-board audio, uses Realtek(also running Win7 64bit)

I’m starting to feel a bit sorry for the developers now; dungeon-specific tokens mean that each dungeon has its own value and worth, for those who wish to create some kind of universal dungeon token are actually discrediting developers intended efforts towards the design and arts in each dungeon as well as the concepts for the unique equipment.

These dungeon missions are perhaps the height of PvE difficulty and all I see are people trying to exploit the progress made in this thread =/, if you have an issue about dungeons non-specific to soul bounded tokens, maybe you should generate community feedback in a non-chaotic method by opening or commenting in a topic specific thread?

Grinding isn’t meant to be fun or simulating (unless you make it a challenge for yourself!), however the outcome reward is valued greater by the player when they earn their reward, as well as the appearance to other players.

Thank you for the notice, I’m glad you’ve seen this thread and even taken the time to appear in this thread =O(my prays answered); I can only imagine the array of existing issues to sweep through, kudos!!

Though difficulty varies and tokens seems limited to value, we as a community must not be blinded by greed – I would personally prefer making sure dungeon equipment is a status and achievement of hard earned work.

All that said, daily caps of dungeon runs do make it so that single dungeon items can take a week or more of time to earn, the motivation does drop when needing to do this for an entire set of armour.

However I would like to return to the main point of this thread =D; theres no need or motivation for soulbound tokens, please convert to account bound =( .

Good point.

Badges of Honor also drop in Story Mode which the majority of dungeon runs appear to be in requests, again there is more motivation for Story mode than Explorable; likely down to the limits that explorable mode actually rewards effort.

I urge moderators to take notice of this thread(for what good it will do in this message),
for it seems that across the majority of the forum, are those complaining about difficulty are actually blocking out some of the more serious issues revolving around the game mode, rather than pointing out something they personally disagree with(unless argued with valid observation).

I have no desire to run dungeons...anyone ells?

From my experiences form Twilight Arbour explorable mode (lev 55);
I find story mode is completely practical as a dungeon and has relatively good bosses.

my issue comes as I reach explorable mode and I hit these “one hit wonders” who can tank my entire team whilst dishing out AOE melee attacks, attacks that can not only knockdown, but hit an absurd radius practically taking the entire team down to 25%.

I can appreciate the difficulty, I find some games these days lack the impossible feel, but there are definitely examples of unbalanced mobs that do not show any weaknesses, surely if it can do high damage or AOE that it’s health should be “relatively” low so the team knows which mob is a priority target.

And why do I play these explorable dungeon runs?

For dungeon token,
of which can only be used by the character they are earned by (soulbound) rather than account bound; the effort really isn’t motivating enough to run aprox 11 times to earn 330 tokens for one armour piece fixed by soulbound.

I was to start such a thread but glad I’m not the only one who think that the effort of dungeons should not be limited to a set character.

Not all dungeon runs are going to be easy and most groups need to put lots of time and effort, not to mention silver into repairs (which could even be purchase gem converts).

The risks of making such dungeon tokens account-bound rather than soulbound are practically non-existent, so there is little reason not to change it, especially if there are community members going as far as to write on the forums about it.
