Well, I thought I may join in on the fun. Here is my guardian.
Head- Not Shown
Shoulders- Radiant (AP Shoulders)
Chest- AC Dungeon
Hands- Radiant
Legs- HOTW Dungeon
Boots- HOTW Dungeon
The Color scheme is Black and Steel. Gives it the realistic look.
Great sword- Cobalt
So between the hands, shoulders and Cobalt, I defiantly have no trouble seeing in the dark. that is for sure…
So the last couple runs through fractals for my guild has seen us get the dredge. Now I don’t mind cause hell, I like the loot. What the problem is that the Mobs at times, more frequently with bombing the door, reset as you are attacking them. I mean it gets a bit tough and annoying when you’re smashing away at a group, and then just before death, they reset all their health and you have to keep whacking them. And it’s not like we are pulling them half way across the room. so that is not the problem.I am wondering if anyone else is having this issue, or if this is how they intended it to happen?
Honestly the only one I have seen are from the guild vendor. Which is usually close to the bank in any major city.
I am seeing a lot of complaining on here that these missions cater to large guilds, and pushes the smaller ones away. i don’t believe that is the case. I am in a guild with tops, about 30 members total. We have the majority of everything unlocked, and hell, have already started to unlock the missions. The thing is that this is not something you should be able to do over night. It is something to work towards in the future. It is finally some new end game content. And just so those who say they don’t have time, and have lives and can’t play a lot either, guess what,. most of my Guild mates are either in school or work full time with lives, and we managed to get this stuff done. It is a goal that personally should take a decent amount of time to complete
Indeed. that is why I stopped putting money into the forge. I just farm the mats, which is pretty time consuming, though it does help with the Tier 6 mats at least. But I have started to refuse spending my hard earned gold on a gamble…lol.
Trust me, I share in your pain. I didn’t buy the exotics, but have been crafting rares and exotic staffs like crazy. Took me about 3 weeks to earn all the mats to do so, and threw them all in the mystic forge, and got nothing. over 80 rares, and about 40 exotics. Still waiting for the elusive staff known as The Legend.
there is an online manual for the game: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/manual/
unfortunately, it isn’t very helpful for things like that
Yea I kinda wish it was more useful. I mean I get questions ask like this all the time, I mean I don’t mind helping those who don’t know, but it would be nice if this information could have been better and distributed. Saved some people the time and effort of having to look up each individual thing.
I actually have a few different set ups that I use. One is White and Heather, another is Black White Gold and Iron. I also have a Royal blue and Ruby combination that looks good too. My favorite thing in this game is being able to test different color schemes and see what looks good on what.
Yea there is a Couple of stat sets absent from the ascended items, Such as a healing, or a knights set, and so on. But on the off hand you could go for the all stat pieces like I have, even though there won’t be as viable as a main stat set, but better then nothing I suppose.
maybe kill something instead of skipping. i heard legend that it helps to get loot.
Trust me when I say this. When I go into the fractals, I go with guild mates. When we are done with fractals, everything that was there, except to constant spawning creatures seeing as there is no end to them, is dead. I don’t like skipping things in there due to the fact that, the one thing I decide to skip, could very well hold what I need. My problem is that it just doesn’t happen.
Silly question but, are you looting (and having other loot dropped by) the mobs you kill through the fractals?
Additionally, which class are you playing with which weapons?
I know I’ve seen a number of people who complain about poor drop rates on the various vial items, but found many of them kill as few mobs as humanly possible, and are often using single target damage builds. The combination of only a few opportunities for loot with the low rate of successfully tagging mobs means they don’t end up getting those items. It’s like playing nothing but swamp. It’s nice and fast, but you only kill 1 mob that has a chance to drop loot like that the entire run.
Well I believe this is actually a good question, not a silly one. As for the characters and builds i use, I run with a ranger with longbow barrage and axes, and typically hit everything in front of me. As for skipping mobs, hell I run with my guild mates, and we run fractals for money, so we will kill anything that moves and drops loot. And I almost rarely get any vials or globs. I mean I get drops, but nothing worth mentioning besides a few rares here and there. That is the main reason why I wish you could salvage rings, and get a chance for the mats to infuse it. Hell I don’t even want them to drop ectos, just some kind of metal and some chance to get a vial or glob.
Could not agree more.. I have plenty of useless rings and would love to salvage them for mats. Hell I would rather salvage it then sell it for 4 silver…
Why am I not having this problem? I’m not saying it isn’t a problem — but it’s an inconsistency none the less.
The reason why this is not an issue with you is because the RNG in this game needs to be tweaked. A good portion of members have issues with bad RNG, while others are incredibly lucky. I think there is something wrong with the coding of the RNG that causes this to happen, but I am sure there are more theories then this.
Well, I would like to also throw out this question, and seeing as if I were to put a new thread up I am sure it will get shifted here, or just out right deleted.
So here it is, has anyone also noticed that the loot levels for High level Fractals has decreased to almost nothing. Now I on average Run the high levels once every other day, so there isn’t a possibility to be hitting DR. Now the part that annoys me more however is the fact that I can turn around and run a low level fractal and walk away with ten times the loot I would get in a high level. Now in my opinion this seems a bit off. I mean you have to work hard in the higher levels, so you would think you would have a better chance for better loot. So my point is that what is the point of doing the extra work when I can go do the lower level and walk away with a lot more. Also Just cause I know this will be asked, I use different characters on these runs. I have 4 80’s and use them quite effectively, just to make sure I don’t hit DR.
Honestly I am looking forward to the update, even though there isn’t much information on what the content will be as of yet, this could mean we will start seeing the raids idea being implemented, and quite frankly will help with events for guilds.
As for these events becoming the downfall of small guilds, I don’t believe this will be an issue. If anything it will help fill some of the smaller guilds out there. Although I also would like to ask what is truly considered a small guild? I mean me personally I am in a guild with about 50 members, of which only about 30 or so are actively participating.
Oh yes, Spy kits, they have saved Mine and my Guildies many times over in dungeons and Fractals. Especially the Dredge Fractal. Jumping on those pressure plates, then use a kit to drop aggro while another kites them around…lol
Well dont bother with looking for a fix. They just come and go with patches and thats all. From last 3-4 patches me and few of my friends have freezes (random ones) when using chat or changing chat from /p to /g for example. Its random and you can just task and close the game. Support here have no idea what are they doing so i would not count for their help.
Well then that is a shame then. I mean I love the game, just getting tired of it crashing randomly.
I have been getting the same issue lately, and it has been occurring more often. It is starting to get more annoying and I have a similar specs to you as well.
I am beginning to think no one looks for the answers to questions they have… That is why we have a search function.
Yea there are a couple of bosses I won’t go melee. But for the most part I jump in. The best example of that is trying to melee with Giganticus Lupicus, worst idea ever…..lol
That’s not entirely true. I mean I jump into melee range quite often on the majority of bosses in this game, and so do some of my guild members.
so do i (playing ranger).
that’s why i’m playing GW2…i’m not just have to sit there like a rock pressing “1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, repeat until mob is dead” like in any previous tab-through mmo i’ve played.
I hear ya, I actually like jumping into melee and seeing if I can pull it off, and have Surprised some players with the fact of me surviving. Some fun stuff in my opinion.
That’s not entirely true. I mean I jump into melee range quite often on the majority of bosses in this game, and so do some of my guild members.
Yea that is only for that quest.. Unfortunately you can not use it anywhere else.
I think that allowing for new players to join into fractal is the wrong idea

Ok but here is the reverse of that. Say you have someone in your group who has to leave, would you rather be able to get someone new or start over from the beginning?
Although I do agree it should be a majority ruling on kicking someone not just 2 players.
Soo this thread probably got deleted, and now it returns. Wonder how long before it gets deleted again….
@Knox
You are right, like I said they are building the foundation of the new system, and are implementing them in.
@Azjenco
Agree with you on that the daily is not something you get for free and should require some kind of work for it just like the monthly. Not to mention it is still completely optional. And I get how you may want to have the best gear and what not, but seriously you gotta work for it, just not have it handed to you. Kinda defeats the purpose. And you also have a valid point in that they there are still gripes, but they have acknowledge them and maybe they will be fixed. Like everything it takes time.
Again, I will say it. It is a new system, and they are adding it in piece by piece to make sure it is working properly. Not only that by adding it in piece by piece they are better preparing the players in the change. IF they were to implement it as a giant change, you would probably have more fuel for complaints then you have now.
@LHound You bring up a really good point to it, and makes more sense as to why the dailies are what they are now.
Ok so I did decided to look at your post history, and came to the conclusion that my statement is pretty accurate. And on a side note, it wasn’t a personal attack, just an observation, you came to the conclusion that it was a personal attack.
Back to being on topic, they release things in patches to test them on the live servers to see if and what the issues are. as for this whole not sending things out unless they are finished is kinda fool hardy. I mean sure they may have tested it on the test severs but that only brings in so much data. By building the frame work on the live servers, then proceeding to add the small features to it, they are saving them the head ache of dealing with a massive crash if it fails. It is simple business ideals they use for it. If they were to wait until the whole set-up is complete, before putting it on the live servers, then the chances of having more issue then the whole combo kill thing would come up, and inevitably cause them to rush in a great many of fixes then the one or two from the start. This way when they do put the next step of the phase into the live servers, the frame work will be steady enough to handle it.
Never mentioned anything about promises, but if you had actually read what I wrote, you will realize that what I said is that this is new content, to replace the old content, because of a new expansion. I honestly don’t buy into the promises they said. I am just stating that it is not done yet. When it is I am sure you will be the first one to complain about it.
And on a side note because I know it is going to be said, but yes the old system of dailies wasn’t that bad, just boring doing the same thing day in and day out.
you guys do also realize that the new dailies mechanic is not finished right?
How are you actually defending this?
Sorry, I didn’t realise I was playing Guild Wars 2 BETA. If its not finished, why are we forced to use an unfinished feature.
Ok first off, MMO’s in general, add new things on a regular basis for one. Two, this is technically apart of the free expansion we are getting for the next 3 months. Now if you take that into account you could say to yourself you are in a beta for the content that will be finalized by march.
Somewhat disappointed with new daylies, although i was excited when i first heard about them. I was expecting them (AN) to be more creative on this part, after all those words about getting ppl out in the world again, giving them incentives to go visit places, explore, blah blah blah. And what we get? Same kitten. Just more of it. Forcing us to spend more time on it. Boring and stupid. Dodge this, revive that, combo kill… jesus. kittening facepalm really, who design such things srsly?
Again you guys do also realize that the new dailies mechanic is not finished right? I mean they will be adding more options into in the following months. They just started with this and are building from that.
I just want to throw this in the mix, but when it came to the Dailies, I literally did a fractal run and had 90% of it done by the end. As for them becoming more difficult I don’t see how. If anything they kinda made them easier. And as for the kicking issue do what I do, go in a guild run. I mean the guild I am run fractal dailies every day, and usually have multiple groups going. That alone will take care of several issues you have with kicking and the issue of them not having AR.
If you were to look up the question in other threads, you would have noticed this has been answered many times now. That being January does not count towards it.
Highly unlikely. I mean it would be great, but the chances of them doing a redux of the Guild Wars 1 is slim if any. I mean you can look at all the other games out there that people want a remake for such as the Final Fantasy early editions. The chances of them doing it is kitten near impossible….. But I would lover for them to do it though…
I believe there is going to be a fix for this soon. Once they change how the monthlies are done to where you chose 4 of the 5 otions kind of thing and I am sure you will be able to opt out of the PvP aspect
Honestly I think the whole idea of Magic Find gear is more of a placebo effect then anything. I used to have it and never really noticed a difference with anything compared to when I don’t use it. As it stands now I may use the food every now and again, but as for the gear aspect of it I gave up.
Well as expected the Answer to this and the many other threads go unanswered. Can we at least get some kind of acknowledgment about this issue at least
Edit: And I was referring to the Stream event as for looking for an answer
What is being done About the Perceived Loot drop issues and all the data collected by the player base? I am sure I am along with many others would like some form of response to this.
