Buddy Holly, Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens died on my 2nd Birthday..
Same problem here in Leeds with EE, started about 4 days ago. Have trouble logging in after 6.30pm. The game is unplayable because i rarely get past loading screen with any character and on the odd occasion that i do there is severe lag before a random disconnection.
While doing the Assist Bloodsaw Mill Workers heart near Bloodsaw Mill waypoint, a crimson Moa got in the way and dropped The Legend for me.
I’ve been having this issue for months and have tried many things to solve the problem.
I think i have finally sorted it out, for myself at least. I have a 660Ti, overclocked from the box, graphics card and i underclocked it by 37 mhz using MSI Afterburner. I have been able to play for the last two nights without a crash at all. Before i was getting at least half a dozen crashes a session. These crashes could happen at anytime but were usually more likely to happen when i was doing things like the living story, Dragon Bash or in large wvw zergs. I had the same problem with the black screen and cursor with the sound still playing. I checked the event viewer and found it to be caused by an application hang.
Hope this helps.
57 here, played since beta. Warhammer Online previously and numerous others befor e that. Always had an interest in playing games in arcades etc. and can remember playing bingo pinball machines in the local 24 hr cafe in the early seventies. I also play guitar in a soft rock covers band doing pubs and clubs in the area. To me, age is just a number and i intend to carry on with both these things as long as possible.
+1 for this. Love the idea.
Seems to be working now, although the game is very slow loading.
Just tried logging in but can’t connect, is the server down?
Thanks for all the great replies guys, there is some really interesting information there and a lot for me to consider.
I think i am going to wait for the new Haswell processors to come along and decide from there. I would like to take all the improvements you guys talked about ie. better ssd, ram. cooler etc. and put them together as a system but I have never done this before and, although I know which bit should go where in a system, I am a bit hesitant to attempt to build my own. I suppose once I have all the bits together the worst that could happen is that i would have to get someone to build it who knows better than me.
I think the main thing is to get the right parts and I again thank you all for your input.
