I tend to change my video settings quite a bit; I’m always moving between the Auto Detect setting and All Performance setting. One thing I’ve noticed, in relation to the camera movement (and even mouse movement) is that it seems to be based on your FPS.
I’m not a huge PC gamer, but is this normal for PC games? I find it very frustrating that whenever five elementallists decide to throw everything they have, my framerate drops and I can’t move my mouse or turn my screen.
Also, when I’m at full performance settings, I get about 60FPS; Auto Detect settings is 30FPS. When I switch between these two, my mouse is noticeably slower. It feels like I just yanked down my DPI or something.
I’m not complaining about low FPS, so don’t bark at me for that. I’m just wondering why when my FPS goes down, my mouse sensitivity drops as well.
Hey guys,
I’ve noticed that whenever I try to use the drop down menus at the top of the site, the “second” set of menus won’t register that my cursor is on it and ends up closing the whole menu.
For example, when I move my cursor over The Game, a menu comes down. I then move my cursor onto The Races of Tyria; another menu opens. However, when I move my cursor towards Asura (or any other race for that matter), it thinks I’ve moved off the menu and closes.
I’m on Windows 7 and am using Google Chrome.
Thanks!
(Also happens with Professions.)
or here’s an example:
Video of a Guardian doing WvW with commentary about how to play a Guardian in WvW in certain situations and providing relevant and educational feedback to viewers. Likely Ok to monetize!
Video of a Guardian doing WvW with a voice overlay of your Teamspeak with your jagoff friends or using some copyrighted background music and has no actual value other than showing off and looking cool. Probably not Ok to monetize.
Ha! What would you know, Charrbag!… Oh, not the right place? Okay… Goes back to sylvari section
Words don’t have meanings on their own, it is each of our own individual minds that gives them meaning, based on our views, surroundings and language.
Two examples:
1.Gay for some people is a curse, for others a cheerful remark.
2.Chic(sheek), the word meaning “fasionable” and “stylish”, to my Lithuanian ears sounds like “šik”, which in my language basically means “go defecate”. Imagine hearing that in a TV advertisement. While F is replaced with kitten, our mind still automatically fills in the innormality, with what fits better. The mind is known for filling in the gaps and even adding missing features to complete something that isn’t complete. Seeing “kitten” every time someone is displeased with me, someone else or the game it self, doesn’t bring me any joy associated with kittens, neither does it provide amusement.
I’m not arguing that people should stop being offended, however, I’m arguing that no one should care about that, because that’s their problem – a mirror of their own mind. Also, as for no one cares – I’d still like to see what devs/mods think on the issue.
I agree with you here somewhat, but I now find the need to change my argument ever so slightly. One word, all by itself, does indeed have no meaning. However, the way that we use this word has the meaning. As such, when people who are familiar with a certain use see/hear the word, they unintentionally associate that word with the meaning.
That’s where I think you are oversimplifying the use of a word. I may not know Spanish. But if someone uses a Spanish word in what appears to be a hateful manner, I get the sense that it was hateful.
Next, I would hate to take the stance of “Well, just because it doesn’t bring you happiness doesn’t mean that it won’t bring others happiness.” But it looks like that may be what it has come to. The majority of the people on these forums most likely don’t have the same views as you and may very well find it amusing.
And lastly, I must have misread your post. My apologies. However, saying that we shouldn’t care about offending others is somewhat of a closed off way of thinking. Yes, we shouldn’t let the feelings of others dictate how we run our lives. But that doesn’t mean we can’t respect their desires.
P.S. I wouldn’t mind hearing from the Devs/Mods on this issue as well.
I’m saying that people that are perverted enough to take offence at sequences of sounds shouldn’t be catered for. Yet we see the opposite all over and that’s perverting the perversion even more – teaching people to shun what they shouldn’t be bothered by.
Using euphemisms isn’t cleaning up speech, it’s just temporarily hiding the truth from the shortsighted.
I see where you’re coming from. But I must disagree.
You seem to be treating words as though they are simply sounds that we can make. But that is a gross oversimplification. Words also have meanings. Some words, like the ones that have been filtered, have very strong meanings. Meanings that Anet doesn’t want in their forums.
Now, you can argue that switching the F word with kitten doesn’t get rid of the meaning. Which is true to a point. If someone says “go kitten yourself!” we all know it was an unfriendly meaning that was being sent. However, by placing the word kitten in place of the F word, we have also added the feelings of joy and softness that’s usually associated with kittens. As such, the impact of the meaning is not nearly as rough and in fact makes some people start laughing.
But even though it appears that Anet is hiding these words simply because they don’t want feelings to get hurt, that is not the only reason. The words that were censored are vulgar and not nice to look at.
If you want to argue that we humans need to stop getting so offended at things, such as swear words, I don’t think the Guild Wars 2 forums are the best place (nobody really cares). :/

Well, I know my keyboard (G110) can do marcos. So I can potentially set a key to “Enter, w, a, i, t, !, Enter” But I personally don’t use macros at all, so I couldn’t really give you that many details on them. Sorry :L
I think macros could satisfy this. :/
Using euphemisms won’t take out the bite out of anything – the result is the same, the context is the same. Words are just sequences of sounds, it’s our brain that gives those meaningless sounds “color”. If you think that some word is bad, profane, you might want to look into how perverted your own mind is. Overtime, maybe people will realize this, but currently – this is kittened up.
So, if I’m understanding you correctly, you’re saying that since we humans are already perverted, we should just avoid trying to clean up our speech?
On my Char Guardian, I ran up to a downed player and said, “There, there son. Relax while I bandage your wounds”
He Replied with “Thank you” when he got up he called me a dumbkitten and ran off.
No respect these days. -.-
I don’t really roleplay much, but whenever someone is downed or dies I get overly emotional as I try to save them from the brink of death.
Always fun.
I tend to yell out “This man needs help!!” or “He was so young…”
Good times, indeed.
I took Christbacca. I have one of these in my office. It inspired me.
You guys are so recharrded. (-.- ‘) I’m going to go vacuum my room. Don’t follow me or it might get you! O.O
We also have Sarah Pale Tree. But they have Charrak Obama…
Hey, walking carpets! Why did the Charr lick his balls? Because he was trying to get the taste of Charr cooking out of his mouth!
I hope I don’t get in trouble for that one :S
No need to buy them, Gw2 will feature consistent free content updates and in-game events going forward. Our goal is to make it so you get more from Gw2 for free than you get from a game you pay a subscription for.
On top of a large amount of free bonus content, we will be expanding on offerings in the Black Lion Trading Company going forward, as well as be doing large-scale expansion content down the road.
We’ll cover a lot of the details on the kind of support and plans we have in place over the next month or so on the Gw2 blog and with our press partners.
We do appreciate that you’d like to buy lots of new content, but we’d prefer to give a lot of it to you for free, cause that’s what we think a responsible MMO company does!
Mmm, this is another reason why I love ArenaNet.
“purchase…every month”
You mean like a monthly subscription?
No.
I buy expansion packs, cash shop items, but I refuse to pay monthly. You end up spending multiple amounts of what the game is worth for minimal add on’s that aren’t even close to being of the same caliber of the main game. Then we have to pay for expansions as well? No thanks.
Yes, this is one of the main reasons I love Guild Wars and ArenaNet. I think it would be somewhat of an insult to old GW1 players if they introduced and monthly fee especially after release.
I don’t see anything wrong with what they’re doing now.

Thank you guys for being awesome! I hope you let those programmers get some sleep when this all calms down. Make sure you have lots of Mountain Dew and Fritos.
I haven’t seen any players with the Red Arena next to their name so far. Are you guys playing at all?
The extra account BS should be reported and they should ban like no one’s business. If someone hasn’t fought in 10 minutes they should be auto-kicked.
And then we would have people gettingkitten because they can’t finish the jumping puzzles before getting kicked. :/
Another issue might be when one of you is on the main server and the rest are on overflows. You can’t right click that one person and join them, they have to come out of the main server themselves.
