Hi Fayt
The Farstar Alliance may be just what you are looking for. We were one of the first guilds on Gandara, established on the first pre start day and still going strong. We are an extremely casual guild, in fact, I haven’t played GW2 myself for the past few weeks as I’m taking part in the Defiance alpha testing but I’ll be back soon as GW2 is my main game nowadays.
We aim for a mature membership and have a number of couples playing together too.
Nobody is under any pressure to take part in any specific activity but we have regular dungeon runs, WvW evenings and recently, started on the guild bounties.
Take a look at our recruitment thread here:

If you are the person who applied to join our forums within the past 24 hours using a name beginning with X and ending in R, your forum registration has been approved. I tried sending an in-game email but the name isn’t known. I haven’t printed the full name as another guild will probably try to poach you
If anyone else is interested, please supply your exact in-game name when applying to TFA as it makes it easier for us to contact you if necessary.

You don’t say whether you’re looking for a US or European guild. The Farstar Alliance is an English speaking but international guild for mature players on the EU Gandara server. We have members from all over Europe.

EU Gandara is a thriving server where you’ll be placed in the overflow when you first arrive at Lion’s Arch most times of day.

If you are looking for a casual guild for older players, we may be what you are looking for. We were one of the first guilds on the EU Gandara server and already have two US players living in Europe if I recall correctly.
See our recruitment post here:
Another player is leaving his old guild for ours just this morning. If you’re in a small guild that’s getting smaller and want to actually have other guild members online when you are, please apply today.
You don’t say whether you’re looking for a guild on a US or EU server. It’s always a good idea to mention that.

If you’re a mature European gamer in a small guild where you frequently find you’re the only one online, maybe it’s time to move on. Please consider joining The Farstar Alliance. One of the first guilds on Gandara and still going strong.
Hi Kimiteshu
It sounds like we are just the sort of guild you’re looking for. We were one of the very first guilds to set up on Gandara on day one of the head start. Our core membership had already played games together previously but we quickly built up our numbers on Gandara to create a thriving guild.
Our membership is definitely mature. Our youngest members are in their twenties and the oldest is nearly seventy. Average is probably somewhere in the thirties. We’re a casual guild and dabble in a bit of everything.
I just posted a new version of our recruitment thread a few minutes ago. Take a look and if you like what you see, our contact address is at the bottom:
The Farstar Alliance is a guild where older MMORPG players can find a place to call home.
Where characters can group together, be it for PvE or WvW, without someone screaming at them that they broke the latest strategy, or they had to log out in the middle of things because the baby is crying.
Where people new to the game can ask questions, without being made to feel silly or like they are bothering the “Elite”.
Where the overriding sentiment is a willingness to help others, whether that’s with quests, advice or crafting them some better kit, and where people who enjoy roleplaying their way through the game’s content can do so without fear of being ridiculed (you want to watch all the cinematics and read all the quest dialog – you do it).
And above all, since a video game is not (and should not be) a second job, our guild is a place where people play to have fun, and play only as long as they are still enjoying it.
If you are:
> Friendly
> A casual gamer
> An adult gamer with responsibilities
> Playing for fun
> Enjoy helping others
> Enjoy the occasional dungeon run or WvW encounter
> Like to work out how to do things, sometimes the hard way
> Enjoy a mature ‘adult’ ambiance, along with a bit of light hearted banter
Then The Farstar Alliance is a guild you may like to join.
Who we are:
The Farstar Alliance was originally formed by the merger of four guilds in Star Wars: The Old Republic, although many of us had already played other games together even before that. In fact, the MMO history of some goes back to the early hours of Ultima Online. We were also one of the first guilds to form on the GW2 Gandara EU server and have maintained a strong presence there ever since.
We don’t have an open ended membership policy but we do aim to maintain sufficient numbers to be able to organise regular dungeon runs and forays into WvW for those who want it.

We’ve had half a dozen or so new members since I last bumped this thread but we still have room for more people. If you’re a mature player looking for a casual guild, TFA will be just what you’re looking for.
I’ve been thinking the same thing. There’s too many people that don’t even mention what continent they’re in, let alone which is their server of choice.
Please mention US or EU in your subject header and specify which server if any, your post relates to. You’ll get a much better response that way.

We had several new members this week but still have room for more. We’re organising dungeon runs nearly every evening at the moment including Fractals. If you want to join a mature, friendly bunch of people look no further than TFA.
Hi RMStrooper. The Farstar Alliance may be what you’re looking for. We are a casual PvX guild for mature gamers. We don’t have a set age limit but most of our members are over twenty five so lots have family commitments meaning the game is for fun not a way of life. However, we were one of the first guilds to set up on Gandara at launch and have about eighty or ninety members on the roster from memory. Obviously, they don’t all log in at once, indeed, some have been distracted by recent expansions in other games but we still get enough online each evening to run regular dungeon runs and WvW evenings.

Hi Hastur
We are The Farstar Alliance, one of the first guilds on Gandara at launch. We have approximately eighty or ninety members on the roster and are able to accommodate a few more mature members at present. We don’t have a set age limit as such but current members are mostly over twenty five, average age is probably in the thirties or forties. We cater for all play styles so whether you’re looking for PvE, WvW or simply exploring the world, you’re welcome. We are a very casual bunch and there is no pressure on you to do anything, unless you want to get involved. We have regular Dungeon runs and WvW evenings though, which are generally well supported.

Who we are:
The Farstar Alliance was formed by the merger of four guilds in Star Wars: The Old Republic. We were already in contact in the game, and the four leaders decided to regroup to form a single, bigger guild, so that everybody would have an opportunity to experience the group content with likeminded players. Since a lot of our members gave Guild Wars 2 a try during the beta week ends, and many enjoyed the game thoroughtly, we naturally openened a chapter of our guild in that new game. The MMO history of our members goes back up to the early hours of Ultima Online.
