You weren’t getting stunned/dazed/immobilised/knocked-down/etc. nearly enough when fighting against groups of 3 or more by yourself. Also a bunch of them aren’t level 80, which pretty much just means an insta-kill for you regardless of what build you go.

Other than that, you’re using the stealth skills amazingly (Its a shame that invis is horribly broken atm for wvwvw at least), and you just don’t mash f (or whatever it is for you) after you down someone.

If a thief ever looked like he/she knew what they were doing, it’d be you.

That low ping you have there makes so much of a difference, right now from Australia (300-500 ping if not higher – extremely noticeable delays), for me i can’t just simply stand behind them, i need to be inside them before i start hitting people with my thief. MISS MISS MISS MISS MISS MISS (Heartseeker) 2000 MISS MISS MISS etc.

For CC avoidance, the trait “Cloaked in Shadows” works amazingly well, especially when coupled with heavy use of Cloak & Dagger.

Unfortunately there is no way to avoid low level players in WvW. For the next video that I have begun working on I will have a much larger pool of footage to display fights vs. more level 80 opponents.

I wish I could spam 1 & 2 all day, they are my hotkeys for Shadowstep & Shadow Refuge. XD

I use every Thief ability in this video, it is a little frustrating how little we have at our disposal so much skill lies in how we position ourselves and use stealth.

My purpose of making the video is to show there are specs other than the 25/30/Whatever. Also, I wanted to show what happens AFTER a burst combo to differentiate this video from other Thief ones, since they usually just show a quick 1v1 or 1v2 then cut to the next scene (because they are out of cooldowns and probably die).

Just tired of “Thief PWN” videos, when your fighting with 3 orbs vs people with 0 in a glass cannon spec.

Green team is Blackgate. The 1v1 vs the Rogue who gets the jump on me is Blackgate, at that time I have 0 orbs and he has 3.

There are two clips where Tarnished Coast has 1 Orb, the rest I have 0. This is clearly seen by looking at my buffs.

The skin of the bow is Ebon Vanguard Short Bow, the Daggers are the same. Only 9800 Karma too!

Hello! I really liked your video! It inspires me to try playing with Daggers again! I know what you mean when you say that sometimes you have stealth even if it doesn’t appear. It’s very unusual! Like everyone else, I’d love to see your spec. I’m trying to reverse engineer it in the same way Chakuna is at the moment, but it’d be nice to get some concrete data.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the video, and yes the stealth thing is annoying on both ends of the spectrum, I’ve died many times due to using C&D when I thought I wasn’t stealthed.

As for spec, I run:

0 Deadly Arts
30 Critical Strike – III – X – XII (Sometimes swap to VI in place of X)
30 Shadow Arts – V – VI – XI
10 Acrobatics – VI
0 Trickery

For gear, I use a mixture between Berserker/Valkyrie/WvW Set (Power, Tough, Vit), sometimes swapping for more/less Berserker depending on whether or not I need more tankynes.

I’ll be recording much more footage, this was done with ~3 hours of gameplay and I started Sunday evening.

Having Three Orbs is pretty awesome.

150 to all stats an extra 15% health is a huge difference….

The most I had in the video was 1 (in the first half).

For the second half I had 0 orbs.

The match up is Fort Aspenwood | Tarnished Coast | Blackgate. Blackgate has had 3 orbs for a large duration of the match up. I am from Tarnished Coast.

2) There are several points where you run, unstealthed, through hordes of enemy players and no one even notices you or bothers to attack you. Why?

I will comment more on questions when I am back from work – but this is a confusing part of the video. There are many points where I AM stealthed though my character doesn’t appear so (you have to watch for the stealth buff icon).

This happens often after stealing/shadow stepping/for unknown reasons.
