Is it possible to receive rare gear in the mystic forge by combining crafted masterwork gear? Before I waste all this gear I could vendor I’d like to get an answer on this.

Thanks for the swift answers. I keep forgetting about the mystic forge. The only time I used it was during lost shore event to buy better harvesting and a 35 rifle for my warrior.

I’ve been playing casually a few times a week since gw2 went on sale again in september. I got it with my brother and we don’t really understand when people say on the forums that they got their character’s decked out in gear once they hit 80. We have zero exotics and I found it just today that you’re supposed to salvage level 68+ rares and exotics to get globs of ecto to craft gear. Can’t you also run dungeons for exotics? But I’ve heard people say they won’t invite people for dungeons w/o exotics. Kinda seems like a catch 22. We’ve never been to Orr and aren’t excited by the fact the mob respawns are out of control. Plus after this patch update it seems like everyone is just doing fractals. So could someone help us out with some direction?
