The game, and all of it’s contents (I’d like to believe) were designed to be fun, which by extension should have included WvW. The time I spent actually aiding our server was not, in the least fun (for me). You can be the elitist and say that people do WvW just to do it, and that’s fine. My whole point was not “Q.Q don’t wvw cause the rewards suck.” My point is, We were given a Meta-achievement to complete in WvW, which I am to believe was meant to a extension of fun, and a means to gain potentially good loot from this. Seven weeks. Seven kitten weeks, during which I obtained maybe 5g, and a handful of mat’s. During that Seven weeks, I rarely did more than WvW (which as I previously stated, was not in the least bit fun). I had hoped that me aiding my server, and jumping in to help where I could would have been rewarded with fun/loot. I can’t even begin to explain how, had I not spent the time in WvW to better my server, I could have made countless more gold, and had a metric-kitten-ton more fun.

Normally, I am not one to complain about any of the crap we are subject to in the name of fun, but this time… this time I feel that I need to. World vs World Season 1 has come and gone. While I can honestly say that I absolutely despise WvW and all things related, I do like loot. Especially when it’s something “new” involved. So, when the announcement was made that Seasons would result in loot based on your server’s performance, I was slightly intrigued. I ventured into the kitten hole known as WvW, and was not surprised to find that…. I still hated it. Every inch of it. Hate it. HOWEVER! I persevered. I fought, and fought (I am not saying that I am the only one, because I know I am not). Hours, and hours I spent in each of the respective borderlands, doing various monotonous task to achieve the 15 points needed for the key for a chest. The time finally arrives to receive the locked chest, to which that very key was made for. I open it.
Three random level 80 greens.
One hundred Empyreal Fragments (spell check?)
One Hundred Dragonite Ore
One Yellow Mini Dolyak (The absolute highlight of this rant.)
and last but not least:
One Yellow Headgear
One Yellow Sword.

Thanks…… I suppose.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I was not expecting precursor’s or ascended gear or anything to that extent, and I am aware that it’s entirely based on how well your server did overall in the seasons. Regardless, I can not help but to feel that I completely wasted my time for very very….. verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry little return. So, again, I say: Thanks, Anet. Thanks for renewing my faith in WvW.
