Just to vent a bit here (not really complaining about the game). I’m officially sick of the dungeon because of the kitten jetpack. I want it so much for my engineer, as I’m a steampunk person living in a world of magic, and the general equipment isn’t for me, aside from maybe 1 armor set.
Then I do the dungeon 10 times with different parties, after the third run I teach everyone what to do on every part, and even this way we die and people leave and the server updates and so on. I can’t blame de players, they’re doing what they can, and so do I. It’s just that after soloing that kitten ooze, waiting hours to get people to play and not getting even one rare or above item from the chest, I’m done with it.
Jetpack is just too rare. Supply is at an astounding 46 at the TP (mind you, the TP is for all the servers) now, and the price will never get to the 10g that is all I have. Guess I’ll stay without the jet. I love almost all aspects of the game and I do understand the concept of prestige items, but super rare drops from temporary content make the same rich people pile rare loot every time. That aside, the dungeon is fun and I love the Living Story in general =P
4 runs so far and just got insignias and mostly blues and greens with a couple yellows.
Oh you can get yellows from it? I’ve got nothing but rares and masterworks after 6 or so runs. If I can’t even get yellow drops, a jetpack is too much for my luck =(

That would be ineffective as you would need to run for a bathroom in the middle of the fights!
Seriously though, since I got used to tossing regularly, even other people tend to stick by my side to get the benefits of the elixirs.
My main’s an Engie, and altough I was slightly disapointed that there are no skins for a P/P or Rifle build, I’m playing this thing purely for the lulz. The minigame is fun, the chests around the world are fun, the general happiness of the people playing it is fun. I’ll collect my baubles and wait, or use them on a greatsword for my guardian norn, the blue color suits his skills :P

Seriously, I logged in just to tell everybody in my guild to come to the site and watch the bloody thing. It’s hilarious!
A voice pitch slider would be great. You don’t need more than one real voice, and everybody would be able to have a – albeit slightly – different voice.
I’ve seen pitch sliders in other games, and they allow some customization without ruining the voice.
Too much kits. It would be better then ditch the turrets and create one turret kit with the combined effects of the actual turrets, where each skill drops a turret with a self destruct timer and a limit of one turret per type.
But making the actual turrets more useful could be great to diversificate engineer builds.

But I have question for you!
- How do you aim grenade ? or Any AoE targetted?
- How do you switch target vs a mesmer? With so many clone you must tab a lot!Oh it’s quite simple.
How to use targetted AoE skills: My left trigger releases my mouse pointer so it moves normally, that’s how I can target while moving. If the target is close enough I dont even need to worry about targeting, cause my pointer is always in the middle of the screen, a bit in front of my toon, co I can even evade, turn or w/e and drop granades to enemies in front of me with no problem. If they’re farther away I just release the mouse pointer and aim while moving.
How to aim the right mesmer: When I press and hold my right bumper, it locks a target (it’s faster than you think), so I lock lock lock and when I lock the right mesmer I mark it. If I ever lose the lock, I can always lock it back again easily cause it’s been marked.
And it’s fun =D I use PGP for that btw.
I use a 360 controller as well, nice to see someone else rocking it.
I use one too. After I got the hang of AoE skills, I turned the fast casting and bang, it’s easy and fast. Of course the gamepad has limitations, such as chat and UI messing (cursor movement with the analog stick is meh), but everything else seems to be made for it, it’s intuitive and confortable. All you ever need is a bit of patience to fine tune the keybindings (like xpadder) and something to keep the right mouse button down and centralized (like combat mode).
EDIT: Now looking at the PGP features, I think I can ditch the ahk script to center the cursor. I’ll try this tonight.

It’s the interface size. Reverting it to normal will solve the issue. This is specially annoying when you’re playing on small resolutions, like 1366×768, where the normal interface size is too big, and the small one bugs the Trading Post.
Oh, and you don’t need to restart the game. The changes apply immediatelly.
I have a RF411 which is the 14" version of RF511, and mine has only an i3 with the gt540m OCed to the 550m clocks. It works better than yours, playing on med-high settings with > 30fps on PVE, > 20 on cities.
Your laptop has Optimus? If yes, then (altough improbable) the game can be using the Intel GPU. You can force the game to use the Nvidia GPU on the control panel. The other settings in the panel did nothing performance wise to me. Even the OC is optional, the game doesn’t use all my GPU anyway.
I say try to push the graphics up ingame. On my laptop, with a gt540m, I can put everything on max except reflexions and shadows with very small fps differences. Again, my bottleneck is the i3 I’m running on, and things like shaders and post processing are nothing to a gpu that’s being barely used. Anyway, try to play the game with “-cuda -umbra gpu”, that gave me easily 10fps, or it’s just a very, very good placebo.
I my case, whenever is night in game, my fps doubles. It doesn’t matter what’s happening on screen. Then the day comes and everything get slow again. I would really love an .ini file where we could fine tune the graphic options.
After some days gathering data, I found that the game doesn’t use everything the hardware can offer. I’m playing on a laptop with a Nvidia GT540m overclocked to GT550m speeds and an i3 Sandy Bridge. It seems weak but I can play Crysis 2 on high easily, as well as BF3 on high/med.
I’ve used Realtemp to log temperatures and load on my CPU and GPU and GPUtemp to get the GPU load. On a game like Grid, both my CPU and GPU get high loads, peaking 100% sometimes. The temperatures go to ~80C on the CPU and ~75C on GPU, and the processor scales to its full 2Ghz. When playing GW2, strangely my processor only scales to 1,3Ghz, and with a 70% max load. The GPU get even less load, peaking 70% on really effect heavy situations.
I don’t know if latency can affect FPS at all, but sometimes I play with a ping over 400ms, which is high. I’m sure that my processor and my graphic card aren’t throttling. I’m not sure of what to do anymore. I get 25~30fps normally with almost any config ingame, except maybe reflections, but it gets down to 10fps when there’s a lot of players nearby.
