For some reason, no matter what I search, even just using a massively broad filter such as “weapons” the trade post only returns 10 results. obviously there are a kittenload more weapons on the trade post than 10.
Anyone else having this bug with the trade post?
Black Talons recap video for this week. Lots of the fights from last night on FABL against DIS and the TC militia make a bulk of this. We spent most of our time on KNBL this week and it was kind of meh. Last night really broke the boredom. Great fights out there last night TC, was a blast!
And if you didn’t see last weeks, click here.
Don’t copy that floppy? o.O
Yea, I’m also kind of confused lol.
Hey now guys, let’s be civil here. DIS got to take the tower so they win. BT and friends got to wipe DIS about 12 times in the process so we win. Everyone wins!
Acctually to be fair it wasn’t just DIS that got wiped, it was a lot of militia as well. Militia that also helped take the tower, so more win all around!
2nd edit: to be clear this is not sarcasm, you guys soldiered through a lot of getting killed to get that tower, and that is impressive.

Let’s not drop down to FA’s level. We’re dominating them so much now, they’re just bitter that we’re much better in terms of coverage and skill level.
Anyone else find this post ironic?
And yes, we were ping ponging between maps last night trying to bolster our defenses and hold what we had. You know, doing that whole PPT thing that some of you guys are telling us to learn.
I don’t have anything to add…I just wanted this quoted so I can look back at it every time someone from BT says they only play for the fights.
You do realize that in order to have good fights you have to be in a tier where they are available. PPTing is a necessary task to be able to stay in a tier where good fights exist. Ergo some PPTing is done for the purpose of maintaining the prospects of good fights.
Additionally, this is my personal opinion/perspective, I can’t claim to speak for anyone else in my guild or server.

Speaking of Cliffside – Crazy fight! You guys REALLY wanted that tower! lol
No kidding. Wanted it as bad as you guys wanted to keep it, apparently. How much siege did you have up on those cliffs anyway, fer pete’s sake? lol.
Depends on what time you’re talking about, our siege got wiped out several times. I think the most we had up at one time was 4 or 5 arrow carts and 2, maybe 3 ballista.
I honestly wasn’t paying much attention to our siege, was too busy spamming grenades non-stop on the sea of red names milling about the tower hehe.
Yea, that Cliffside fight in TCBL was probably the most epic protracted series of tower fights I’ve ever been involved in. Good times.
Number 1: I’m not sure an automatically unified server pool for PVE zones would be good or bad, it depends on how it handled playing with friends you’ve made and what not. If you were able to electively transfer from one instance of a zone to another in order to play with people you know then why not. But then you basically just have the guest system but always on.
Number 2: should be fixed once guesting goes in.
Number 3: I honestly don’t know why guilds are the way they are in this game. They’re more like chatrooms than guilds unless you and all your guild members opt to treat it like a classic guild where you are only in one at any given time.
Number 4: I believe these bonuses are to encourage more people to participate or to try out WvW as well as provide a concrete reward for those who play WvW to try and do well in it apart from just bragging rights. Besides these are BONUSES not penalties, so why would you complain about free bonuses that you receive from other peoples gameplay?
Number 5: This is a means of controlling the economy by making WvW another gold sink that takes currency out of circulation to prevent inflation.
Number 6: I can make the exact same argument in the opposite direction “why am i forced to pve for my monthly/daily?” and it’s no less valid than yours, so this isn’t really a fair point.
In my opinion, saying “PVE would be better off without WvW” is selfish. Sure maybe PVE would be better if you just deleted WvW, but WvW players and their preferences are just as valid as yours.
1: Exactly. There will be several instances of each zone and you can move freely between them. I don’t see a reason to have a guesting feature instead of just allowing you to switch instances (bugs aside).
2: And we have no information on when guesting will be added… Anyway this was just an example why pve and wvw should be better separated.
3: I agree that multiple guild is an issues, but really this is a different topic.
4: Maybe this system is intended to encourage people to do well in wvw, but it’s a bad system in my opinion. It shouldn’t affect pve. And I’m sorry, but a lack of a bonus is a penalty. pve players in a high ranking world shouldn’t be favored over pve players in a low ranking world – the pve is the same in all of them.
5: I wasn’t referring to wvw being a gold sink. On the contrary, I think allows you to generate a lot of gold. And given the imbalanced (world-wise) nature of wvw, I don’t think this gold should cross over to pve. (Again I don’t have exact number on this so I can’t be sure)
6: Yes, you could! This only strengthens my point. wvw and pve achievement should be separated.
And yes, I am saying that pve is better off without wvw, because I think it’s true. And as much as I want to, I’m not suggesting to delete simply remove wvw, because that wouldn’t be fair to wvw players. I think a better solution will be to better ensure that pve wouldn’t take a fall so that wvw can stay viable. (as it is with pvp)
The problem with suggesting a separate currency system for WvW is again completely not fair to the WvW players. What currency does the TP use? gold. If you deprive WvWers a way of making gold during their chosen method of play, you are unfairly discriminating against them and locking them out of working towards things like a legendary weapon.
Why should PvEr’s have an economic advantage over WvWers simply because they like to grind mobs and dungeons instead of battling other players and going on sieges?
In my opinion, saying “PVE would be better off without WvW” is selfish. Sure maybe PVE would be better if you just deleted WvW, but WvW players and their preferences are just as valid as yours.
Personally, I have no desire to “do away with” WvW. Separation of PvE and WvW could benefit people who want exploration and monthly achievements but don’t want to go into PvE, just as it would benefit PvE players who don’t care to WvW.
Separation of achievements would be pretty easy, as long as you treat both aspects equally as far as rewards go.
I don’t think full separation is a great idea though. Apart from forcing pve players to wvw and vice versa for dailies, I don’t see any real negative impacts that either aspect of the game has on the other, especially once the guesting feature is present.

Well, I’ve been thinking this for a while, but this patch just confirms it, whoever is in charge of balance and design for the engineer is a kittening clueless kitten with kittens for brains with his head so far up his kitten he’ll never see the light of day.
I honestly do not understand how someone can fail so badly to recognize such completely obvious contradictions and so blatantly screw over one class.
The other grenade skills were nerfed by 10 – 15% in PVP in a previous patch, they transfered those nerfs to PVE damage this patch, so the whole kit got kicked in the kitten ridiculously hard. I was just using grenades to farm some mobs, and the total effectiveness drop is more like 40% not 30.
As it stands now my Rifle does better aoe damage than grenades now via piercing, blunderbuss and jumpshot, and I actually hit 100% of the time with the abilities.
Furthermore, because of this massive kittening carpet bombing that they’ve leveled against grenades, the kit is 100% useless if you don’t invest 30 points in a tree and use a grandmaster trait so that it can be slightly less kitteningly bad.
Good job arena net, you’ve made me want to quit the game.
Wow, even super elixir was nerfed this bad? Why does arena net insist on physically abusing one of the least played classes to such a ridiculous degree?
Are engineers not allowed to be good at anything at all arena net? I had a hell of a time justifying playing this class for a while when comparing it to others, but I could take solace in the fact that I was excellent at WvW stand offs and sieges by making good use of grenade kit. Guess those days are over eh?
So who’s bright idea was it to take away the one thing that engineers could do better than other classes (sustainable long range aoe damage) with the excuse that this was in exchange for giving us sigils. I’m sorry but no sigils available will make up for that massive arbitrary 30% nerf.
I’ve been unhappy with previous balance changes I’ve seen from you guys, but I am thoroughly disgusted by the ridiculous and unnecessarily extreme knee jerk balance changes you guys have been making and this one is the nastiest and least called for one I have seen thusfar. Haven’t you guys heard of baby steps?
At this point I’m not really sure what your design philosophy for the engineer is exactly, are we supposed to just be what other classes are but weaker all around for no benefit? If so, then you’re doing a bang up job, a little bit more work and we’ll be 100% there.
