Yeah, I think ANet’s Golem Rush is stupidly huge compared to the stuff we’ve been posting, so I’ll try to do an ANet styled one…
Heavy Artillery – Trebuchet siege cap is lifted. Trebuchets cost 0 supply. Trebuchet Damage increased by 100%. Trebuchet skill cooldowns removed. Rotting Cow applies 25 stacks of Poison unless they have the Gas Mask skin as their headgear. Explosive Shot launches hit players instead of knocking them back
Also:
Caravan – All Pack Dolyaks are now champions. Supply convoys will now have three Dolyaks instead of one. Camps upgraded with Caravan Guard give more guards to the caravan, led by a Champion guard.

Flawed Engineering – Wall and Gate damage resistance is flipped (Walls can now be rammed and hit by player skills, Gates cannot)
Haunted House – Walls, Gates and other Structures have strong perma-retaliation (anti-PvD basically)
The Watchers – NPC Sentries are now Siegerazer-level Champions

Maybe they’re trying to destroy as many Golems as possible and make them more expensive so that we’ll see less of them after the event… at least for a short while.

The announcement of the week-long “Golem Rush” special event is… interesting, to say the least. Regardless of whether it’s bad or not, I was wondering how often these “special events” would take place. Once a month? Once every two months? I think these kinds of events have the potential to be a lot of fun, where we can basically stop thinking and just play YOLO for a week (I feel like it should just be a weekend though, not an entire week, though that would cause complications/complaints regarding the rest of that particular match-up).
Granted, they should be fixing other WvW issues (ironically, Omega Golems are one of those issues), but if these special events are to become a thing, what other gimmicks/stupid ideas do you think can be done? (Serious or Troll, doesn’t matter; I want a good laugh)
A few ideas:
-Gotta Go Fast: Give everyone perma-super-speed
-Brawl: Disallow use of long-ranged (1000+?) weapons
-Back to Basics: Downscale everything/everyone to Level 1 (you keep all your skills ofc)
-Thunderstorm: Huge buffs to NPC Soldiers

I can’t find any entrance to the sewers either. Seems they did away with them entirely. Also, I haven’t spotted any manholes or outlets in LA. Does the new LA even have a sewage system, because there are no signs of any. How does LA dispose of its waste?

Oh gosh, I hope you all aren’t so harsh on my gameplay; I play 6 classes in WvW and only on weekends (i.e. no time to practice, no time to git gud). I don’t record those to show off any skills, but rather to showcase the chaos of battle.
Might want to link the Youtube directly, though, since the Ehmry WvW Forum is “protected” by a login/register barrier.
About that, the Ehmry Bay Forum is teh awesum saws. I don’t post on these forums because Ehmry.com is betterrrrrr!

Okay, whatever the problem was, it was fixed for me yesterday. I was able to play normally after the GW2 Launcher downloaded a small update. I think the problem was with GW2 since it was the only game that was being affected.

And I was starting to wonder if it was just my ISP (which is terrible by default, but never this bad). Seems there are a lot of us having these problems. I hope it’s addressed soon.

The day before the Living Story update, everything was fine actually. My experience changed right after downloading the update.
It actually took me 30+ tries (no exaggeration) to get out of the starting area of Dry Top because of the insane rubberbanding that would happen whenever I used the Lightning Aspect. I sighed and turned off the game afterwards, checking it again every day to no avail. There’s no way I can fully navigate the new zone or play WvW (or any part of the game, for that matter) with these problems.

I’m from SEA and I usually play in the morning and afternoon, Manila time (GMT+8), which is usually late night – early morning NA.
I have not had connection problems like this since last year. As stated in the title, I have been experiencing extreme skill/world lag (taking anywhere from a 1 second delay up to a minute for skills to activate after pressing them, while WvW fights are already done in real time while on my screen they are still happening), rubberbanding (especially when going through WvW tower/keep “portals”), and disconnects (Error 7). All of this since the Living Story Season 2 update.
This is not just a WvW problem; I have similar connection lag in PvE. I was wondering if this lag could be connected to the Living Story update, or if it is just a coincidence. Does anyone else have connection problems like this? Are there any possible ways to troubleshoot this or am I screwed? I’m hoping for answers since the game has become pretty much unplayable since the update.

Because God forbid creating fortifications that are easier to defend, right? That’s the point of fortifications like towers, keeps, and castles. They’re supposed to be significantly hard to take. Not bashing T1/2 gameplay, just pointing out the futility of defense given what you said about zergs melting gates easily.
If being able to melt through a fortified position with ease and without the need for siege weaponry, essentially making the walls and defensive siege useless, is what you would call optimal “siege” gameplay, than Anet might as well remove the walls and gates from objectives and just keep the lord’s room.
I prefer my long, drawn-out keep sieges, where it almost always takes careful planning and strategy (not saying upper tiers don’t; I’m sure they do, but we don’t have blobs melting gates with PvDoor) to take objectives, instead of rolling with a blob and melting through keeps as if they didn’t have any walls. It’s great fun fighting a determined group of defenders/attackers in and around a keep, repelling an attack on the gates using arrow carts, probing for weaknesses and bringing down walls with catas and trebs, and especially frantic battles in the Lord’s room.
Like I said earlier, even if our zergs aren’t as big as your megablobs, and even if the action in T7/T8 isn’t 24/7, that does not mean our tiers are tumbleweed, deserted, PvDoor, or the other negative connotations you assume Bronze servers to be. Those percentages are all lower than upper tiers, obviously, because Bronze matches are smaller in overall scale. That doesn’t mean we’re not getting enough player vs player fights. That doesn’t mean we’re not having fun. And it most definitely does not justify any server merger.
Across different WvW tiers, yes, there are coverage differences. Yes, the zergs are of varying sizes. But at the end of the day, I log in, I have my fair share of fights and bags, and I have fun, regardless of tier. The argument that servers below T2 aren’t having the “optimal” amount of fun that WvW can offer is ludicrous.
Can’t we just accept that every tier can be fun to play in?! I know every tier I’ve played in has been fun. I don’t understand why upper tier players have to talk down lower tier players saying that “they aren’t having as much fun as we are,” and vice versa: lower tier players dismissing higher tiers as 24/7 laggy zergblobs. In any case, NO to server merging the lower tiers, and NO to that other idea of breaking the Gold servers and distributing them to the lower tiers. Bad ideas, both of them.

Anyone who says that T7 and T8 are deserted islands with nothing but a handful of people that rarely come across each other and only PvDoor clearly hasn’t been in T7 and T8.
I used to think like that. I was wrong. Back when Ehmry Bay was T4, a guild I used to be in transferred to Sorrow’s Furnace when it was T8. They still posted on our community forum on occasion, and that was when I saw screenshots of T8 zerg combat. Yes, there are zergs in T8. Now that Ehmry is T8, I can see that for myself. Zergs, guild groups, havoc groups, roamer groups, solo roamers. We have what most tiers of WvW have. Just because our zergs aren’t as ridiculously huge as upper tier zergs does not mean that fights do not exist in our tier.
I’ve been on Ehmry Bay throughout its WvW journey, from T5 to T3 to T8 and I can say that the fights in T8 are fun. There are plenty of fights, large and small. If T7 and T8 are as deserted as all you upper tier players say, then why do I encounter SoR and DH zergs on a daily basis?
Our meta is different from upper tier meta. That doesn’t mean we should be merged into the upper tier. Remember that each of these “servers” have formed a WvW community around their server name. Each WvW tier, and each WvW server, has something different to offer than the others, even if that difference is small; they are all unique and there’s much to experience from the communities of each server, and merging them is not as simple as you think it is.

Not only is all our server “drama” pretty much recorded on our forums, but almost all of it is resolved peacefully. Many times the mods and admins don’t have to intervene; the community resolves it together, then turns the thread into cat gif spam, which then forces the admin to intervene and lock the thread xD
Seriously, though. One of the best things about Ehmry Bay is the community forum, and without that, I probably wouldn’t be staying on Ehmry. Without it, I wouldn’t have gotten to meet a lot of friends, awesome WvW players and commanders that taught me how to be good/useful in WvW, and great guilds as well, and though most of them left, I maintain my respect for them because of all the amazing times I’ve had in GW2 because of them. It also allowed friendly interaction with commanders/players from rival servers, even.
I love this server, even if our night crew is pretty much only a squad’s worth of people on average.

Also, the Ehmry Bay forums are great. It actually feels like a democracy there, unlike in some forums where totalitarianism and tyranny are the norms.

We don’t need anymore guilds joining our server and leaving our server after we teach them how to play GuildWars 2 correctly.
I would start naming names but I don’t want to put anyone on blast. cough DIE cough cough Rekz cough cough GH/ZoD/FTF/ZOMG/PK/Etc. cough
To be fair, though, GH, FTF, and PK/Void were born and raised on EBay. They grew up and decided to find a new home. Putting DIE out there is also unfair, since they explicitly stated they were only going to be there for a short time, as a break from the upper tiers. Instead of staying the 2 weeks or so they originally wanted, they stayed for 1 month, then departed. ZoD and ZOMG were born out of the ashes of the departing guilds in an effort to replace the losses, but they also ended up leaving. As for Rekz, they departed without any drama on their side, as far as I can remember. They just left without notice, and we were the ones who made a big deal about it. (It was still fun wiping them from time to time though)
All that said, I still welcome the idea of a “Homecoming.”

I’m guessing that in addition to that, Kalkz is coming back to BP, while Goldiy, Rekz, GH, Void, FTF, etc. are all coming back to EBay, and we will all somehow meet again in T5 and be stuck fighting each other forever, just like last year?

I learned that Anet wants us to quit WvW entirely, except maybe the Tier 1 to Tier 3 servers where everyone seems to be gathering at, or at least reduce the tiers below the ones stated earlier to Karma Train Happy Land.

What’s Anet thinking here, I wonder? Slapping the faces of all the defensive players, that spend the most time and money in WvW upgrading and defending the keeps and towers.
As if defending wasn’t hard enough, with the built-in siege being destroyed as soon as a zerg comes on, defenders on walls can’t engage unless they step on the edge of the wall where they will be pulled, etc, now you’re essentially removing the defenders’ only ways to mitigate those problems? It will become far too easy to take fortifications, and in the end no one will bother upgrading or defending anything. It’ll just be K-trains 24/7 and the servers that constantly find themselves outnumbered will no longer have any fighting chance because they can no longer defend.
Makes you wonder about what Anet is trying to do here. Why would they make such a devastating change to WvW on the advent of the release of another MMO with a similar RvR combat. It’s like they want the WvW population to quit GW2 and head over to their competition.

I couldn’t play today because for some reason the game is lagging me hard… I listened to my guild fight a battle in N camp on teamspeak while ingame at the same time the two forces were just staring at each other. And when I enter a keep portal, demonic rubberbanding happens and man, I just quit after 5 minutes. Why, Anet?! Why?!
Sucks cause I’m really liking this match-up. I feel like this is going to be a close fight.

Both servers seem to have very fun WvW communities (and game communities in general) based on what I’ve seen.
As for RP, with the ability to guest, it shouldn’t be a problem whichever you choose. I suppose it would boil down to whether you want to be in Gold or Silver league in WvW.
Though, I obviously support Ehmry Bay because I am from there. As stated earlier, we have one of the most, if not the most, active server forums (at least among the NA server).
So will it be Ego Bay or Trashed Coast Ehmry Bay or Tarnished Coast?

If nothing is done about this problem, I believe Anet may lose their entire Oceania and Southeast Asia playerbase.

From the Philippines as well here, and I also use SkyCable Broadband. For the past months, the game played smoothly with none to minimal network leg, but after around Feb 12, I’ve been experiencing very long map loading times, terrible lag spikes, and constant disconnects. The game is now unplayable for me.
I doubt this has to do with the ISP, as many people from different countries have been reporting similar cases, so unless all the ISPs of the world decided to band together to stop people from playing Guild Wars 2, this is not the fault of our ISPs.
