Some skills (ex: Arcane Wave/Blast) have received these charges. Although, the way they recharge is very… odd and counter intuitive.
With the way it is now, you only build your second charge if you don’t use your first one, so you’ll never actually know that you have more than one charge unless you’re at the beginning of a fight or haven’t used the skill in a long time. (So basically, only one of charge will recharge at a time.)
I expected the charges to have their own internal cooldowns, but maybe that’d be too overpowered? I know i’d like to see them changed to see the second charges with their own CD, especially skills like Arcane Blast, which are mainly used for utility.
(Also, some skills can be swapped with out a cooldown punishment when used out of combat. Not sure if that was intended either.)

I’m not sure if Aesthetics fall under the category of QoL, but i really feel that Howler’s animations and effects are lacking. I had originally assumed it was intentional (being an offhand and all), but compared to the new offhands coming out, it’s lacking in all departments.
The sounds are out done by the default warhorn sound. Being a weapon that’s meant to make noise, it sure doesn’t pack much of a punch. Even something as small as turning off the default warhorn noise would be better.
I actually quite like the subtle fog aura (especially how it leaves a little trail). Although, it doesn’t have a foggy sleeve or any arm effect like most Legendaries.
As for the howling wolf animation… it is, more often than not, covered up by the effects of the skill being casted. Also, when the player moves, the animation isn’t locked to the player. this means if you’re running, the wolf animation actually will display on the ground behind you (it just seemed kind of odd to me. maybe it’s intentional).
Does it even have a foot effect? sorta? kinda? if you squint it does i guess…
I’m not sure it was worth my 3k gold the way it is now
I’ve had some luck with my fire/arcane zealot build. Using might stacking to make up for dps loss and elemental bastion for more sustain. I mostly only use d/d for ride the lightning, sadly. I’d love to see it get some buffs to make it more viable for less casual play.
It has footprints and I think it has fog, water and flashy wolf.
I “mist” the foot prints (lul). I didn’t even notice them… that’s how subtle they are…
The wolf animation is nice, but it bugs out with a lot of skills. (ex: Lighting Orb w/ tempest. The animation gets cut off prematurely) Also, when you walk/run while casting, the wolf animation is place locked on the ground, so it will actually be behind the player.
I actually quite like the fog, at least at night. The effects are much more noticeable at night. As for the water drops, the only time the drip from the player is when the weapon is drawn. It seems odd that other offhand Legendaries explode while this one drips…
The more i use it the more I really feel it just needs some TLC…
Straight to the point, Howlers effects still look bad. Just like Minstrel’s used to, but they got updated to look like an actual Legendary.
Can we get that for Howler too?
I was hoping for footprints, a nice sound, and a bit of flash with it when i got it. The sound is awful. It’s a horn… It seems pretty sad to have little to no sound when you blow it.
You can tell they tried to prevent this by adding a 0.5s lockout. It just doesn’t go long enough. Cleansing burst NEEDS to go off before you can detonate the turret. Logically, there’s no way you should be able to miss it.
I noticed that! I appreciated their attempt, but seeing that it increases the overall cast time of the heal to be closer to 1.5ish sec (assuming your timing isn’t perfect or you went back to casting something else), which is kinda crazy for how mediocre it is. xD
Radius is my biggest issue with it at the moment. Needs to be slightly larger if there is going to be delayed explosive time because you’ll walk out of the water field before it can detonate.
I somewhat agree, with one minor exception. With the delay, someone can place a longer lasting aoe over your turret (before your water aoe is casted), completely negating your blast heal. I’d actually like to see personal AoEs prioritised before the radius is increased.
A more minor general problem I’ve run into a few times is AoE finishers. This doesn’t apply to just engi, but it’s pretty annoying yet.
We’re blessed with the blast finishers, and lots of ways to use them, how about actually controlling how they’re used? Because as it is now, we can barely choose which aoes get blasted. The default is whichever combo field has been there the longest, i think it should at least be changed to prioritise your own fields over others. Or maybe several options. ex: fire fields>water>else (fire fields are used first, then water, then anything else?). i think a lot of build potential is wasted as they are now.
I never really thought about turrets until they changed them. Although, now i see there are 2 large issues with them.
The easiest one is the heal skill. The minor delay (with a good ping) is enough to drive someone mad. Since the overloads only occur once, can’t we just have the clear and aoe on cast instead of on overload?
Secondly, the turret farm in Watchtower Cliffs made me think about the way they target. I think turrets should only attack an enemy that has been targeted. This would help prevent unwanted scenarios when the turret takes aggro before a player, resulting in it’s early death. It would also solve the afk turret farming (i know a lot of people like that, but i don’t. i’d much rather see it turned into an event chain where people actually run around to kill them). The way it stands now, it’s impossible to distinguish between the people exploiting and the people actually cheating via macro/bot.
I’d love to hear other solutions/counter arguments/problems (unless they’re about preserving your delicate leather farming ecosystem).
Well they semi-recently added the cast if you hold down the button, which is what i do most of the time now (especially with auto attacks). if my ping doesn’t suck, this screws me over. It’s definitely a quality of life fix that needs to be patched. maybe just put them in over charge state on placement instead (without the small delay)? or since they only overcharge once we just get the condi-clear/aoe on use? I’ve actually swapped to AED because it’s messing me up in T4s.
For them to change the way turrets work for quality of life purposes, it’d be weird for them to not want to fix this.
I would love to see advanced options to choose which AOEs will be blasted before others. With the way it’s set up now i have to wait 3-4 seconds to blast my fire AOEs. It has also been a problem for guardians in high level fractals.
The combo field dropped first is the one that it will combo off of. That’s how it’s always been.
Indeed. I’ve been using “Persisting Flames” Grandmaster to get the duration on the fields so i can blast them, otherwise Necro’s minions will leave 4 second long poison fields that are up a ton.
I’m lazy and don’t want to wait 2-4 seconds to blast my fields ¯\(?)/¯
I wish they would do this. Have it like boon share, where field priorities would be: the player’s -> allies -> NPCs.
Yes! If that were a toggle-able option, that’d be amazing. The only option i could see being an issue is if you have a guardian in your party and a warrior; how will it decide whether to use the light or the fire field?
This could also fix the problem that people have been having with guardian’s retal in fractals. :s
After i decided to make an Ele boon build awhile back, i couldn’t help but notice that my blasts rarely went into my own fields during large group combat. So here’s what i’m wondering…
Is it possible to get a feature that allows the player to prioritise some AOE types?
If that’s not possible, what about prioritising the player’s (your) AOE over other people’s?
I’d like to know because i get salty when i’m trying to might stack for people and I waste my blasts for weakness.
So they’ve gone through QA but still don’t want to share the details? I… don’t understand. This just makes me hope it’s something glorious, but I know I shouldn’t think that way. Lets just hope it will satisfy.
I don’t have to explain why i would like a change. I made the account quite awhile ago and have regrets. I have considered purchasing another account for a new name, but i’ve spent far too much time and money on this account for me to justify abandoning it. Make this a payed option even? idk
Same. I went into the labyrinth and crashed like 8 times in a row. xD

Same thing here. So I decided to look it up and see if there were any ways of preventing it. I am sad that I found nothing… :[
