Thats the thing, Deihnyx… I’m not looking to do the daily. I’m looking to climb the ladder so I can start higher fractals on my own.

Has nothing to do with the daily whatsoever. And I’ve been creating groups… but not having a ton of luck… as I said earlier above.

The fact other people only want to do dailies can be exploited, though. So long as you’re completing fractals at or above your level, you gain a level. It is super easy to find people to do dailies or daily recommended fractals, and nearly impossible to find people to do any other fractal except a 40 farm, or 99/100 challenge mode.

Let me see if I understand, (I’m not trying to be difficult, I honestly want to understand how this works) — so even though my max level fractal is lvl8, I get into a group doing a level 20. Say we complete the level 20. Does that raise my max level to 9? or does it stay at 8 and I have to rely on others to up the number?

If you started at level 1 and did them all in order, you’d be at level 100. Alternatively, if you started at 1 and did fractal 100 99 times, you’d also be at level 100.

All that matters is you’re doing fractals at or above your personal level. Doing that raises your personal level by 1. That’s why the methods I mentioned earlier work. You could also find a group of T4 friends, get enough AR, and just do dailies with them. In a few days you too would be T4.

In your example, even though someone else opened fractal 20, you would raise in personal level to 9 by virtue of completing it. You could go your entire GW2 career and never do fractal 8, but have a personal level of 100.

Wicked. I didn’t know this. I’ll have to give it a shot tonight… and let my buddy know.. bc we’ve been doing lower levels trying to get me up.

So long as someone in your party is at a certain level, that level can be set. Someone in the LFG party will be able to open fractal 18 even if you are only able to open fractal 8.

The reason more people aren’t climbing the ladder is because they already have. T4 parties fill up quickly.

Daily recommended fractals can only be done on T1, T2, and T3. This was intentional by anet to get T4 players to mix with other tiers. You can make a group at T1 for daily recs and someone will open the higher fractals even if you can’t.

Getting to T4 will take you a few weeks with this method.

Join a guild that runs fractals regularly. If you are interested, my guild is happy to invite people who want to learn fractals. We run them at all levels.

I may take you up on that. I found a guild that will take me to raid with full exotics… which i feel very very lucky for. I’ve got 2 slots left I think, bc you can be in more than one, correct? Sorry still super new trying to figure everything out.

So as of late, I’ve been advertising on LFG as “Breaking into fractals – starting at X” where “X” is the level of fractal. I’ve been having a bit of luck here and there, but am having a hard time with one thing…

How to climb the ladder? I know someone above said not to worry about climbing 1 by 1 but I feel as though i would need that eventually, and rather do it sooner than later, while there are still new people working on it… maybe?

and Voidvector, there are tons of t1 fractal groups, but not many that are willing to work up from the bottom… they just want the daily and they’re done, which really doesn’t help me at all. The groups that are willing to start low and work up are few and far between I’m afraid.

I haven’t run into any AP requirements, mostly bc I’m the one advertising that it’s a newbie group, so it’s been psudo working out.

thanks for the responses guys. I’ll give the suggestions a try and see what I can accomplish. I feel like the fractals should give me enough gold to start to craft ascended gear to put agony resistance on etc. to let me climb, but i hear those are long craft times and very expensive. sad days…
