There was another slight hint in that interview saying that the patch will be after CBT3 and before the China release and CBT3 ends on the 25th of March so my guess is that it will either be at the end of this month or at the very beginning of April. I’m expecting it to be at the end of this month because of the WvW season. But……who knows.
^ Upvote. Instead of facetious comments, can we gather up some more evidence? Pretentious remarks might help you vent but won’t get you closer to a solution. Here’s what I have so far:
(From Reddit post) “Keep in mind, we’ll be releasing a Feature Pack after CBT3 but before the launch of the game in China, so you’ll see more of that type of global change then.”
That might mean the feature patch will come out for us after the Chinese BWE3 and before the Chinese launch.
(From reddit post) That isn’t the first hint the Allie on the forums said the feature build would not come in June then Tyler Chapman added that the build is not months away so I think most people have come to the conclusion that it will come in April or May.
PvE players are more important. Don’t you ever forget that.
3/18/14. Maintenance build. Never forget.
In before nonconstructive censorship!
Hambow already received a nerfbat and people still QQ’ing.
Dec. 10th
Reduced burst mastery damage by 3%
Normalized combustive shot’s damage according to adrenaline level. Ergo reduced its damage by as much as 15%
Earth shaker 33% reduced damage
Staggering blow 33% reduced damage
Moved unsuspecting foe trait to master tier
Here’s the warrior dilemma: take away the warrior’s damage and he becomes a kitten guardian with no access to protection, blinds or support boon sharing. Take way the warrior’s sturdiness and he becomes a crappy thief with no blinks, invis or z-axis travel.
Im not sure dead means what you all think it means. NC just had quarterly earnings. They legally have to disclose earning and performance reports. Those numbers have to be accounted for and verified. They can’t just pull numbers out of their kittens and blatantly misrepresent the performance of a product to shareholders without serious repercussions.
Across the board GW2 is performing better than projected. In new box sales and gem sales. Player concurrency is up, living story participation is up. Those are facts. If those are facts…then how is it “officially” dead?
If anything, I think more people are getting involved in the living story. Because it got interesting and is more rewarding than grinding glory for skins, which has diminishing returns the more skins you unlock.
Also, wth are you doing solo queue? Everyone is either in hot join or team queue. Team matches rarely take longer than two minutes to pop. I’d think someone with over 2k hours of pvp would know where people are playing.
Seems like more of a case of player “officially” not knowing what he is doing or talking about.
^ This. Pvp population is far from dead and statistics indicate that it’s growing. I’ve noticed more frequent encounters with newer players which can only mean more new blood entering pvp. I’ll tell you what is dying though—the hardcore player base, the veterans. The ones who are left and willing to put up with the current state of pvp are merely sharks in a small pond, hence OP’s frustration.
Sign me up! School’s back in session!
Gentlemen, this is a public relations debacle on Anet’s part. Yet they defend themselves instead of being forthright with the community. C’mon Anet! Your goose is cooked! What’s wrong with giving us an expected time range for the upcoming feature release? The community is in a uproar and hiding behind the veil won’t help. The mob must be appeased. If only Anet can offer clear, transparent communication instead of cloak and dagger terminology (“maintenance build,” “after living story”).
I want to know this as well. How will we obtain PvP salvage kits once glory is removed?
The end is nigh! All is in vain! Time to uninstall.
On a serious note, Anet builds up all this hype about an upcoming amazing release. It then falls flat, leaving all of us disillusioned. Anet tantalized us with their feature build since end of December. Now come end of February, we find out it won’t arrive until “late spring/early summer” (quoting Colin Johanson). So every 6 months for an update to PvP? That’s how long it took the previous one (if not longer)!
You must be thinking that getting a revamped pvp reward system will be our saving grace. Since glory is being removed and gold being the primary currency, PvE gamers will get a leg up because they can accumulate it astronomically faster. Let’s not even mention that they get to bring over all their legendary weapons and cooler PvE exclusive skins (e.g. spirit and elementalist weapons)
I’m really kitten furious of being treated as a second rate citizen. Makes me want to uninstall. By now I should give up having great expectations of PvP as it would only be faltered. GW2 should’ve came with a disclaimer “Abandon all hope ye who installs.” /tirade
Upvote! Very insightful suggestion by OP. Bump worthy thread.
The amount of time to use up the hundreds of glory boosters would require me to play PvP day in and day out. That’s not even factoring in the rate of which new glory boosters are accumulated. It’s an absurd expectation to put all those glory boosters to use before March 18th. Making glory boosters tradable for glory consumables would be a great compromise.
