It is nice to be able to pick the amount of gems I want and the gold cost auto calculate; however, I hate being forced to buy more than I want when converting gold→gems or not being able to convert all my gems→gold. These arbitrary increments only serve to rob players of their money or gold. A 1 gem increment has to be available on both sizes of the conversion before the full value can be used.
I don’t even know why you have a gem/gold conversion tab to begin with because you could simply have the auto converted gold price next to every item in the shop. Then players could directly buy items for gold, while player that wanted to buy gems and covert to gold could simply buy it as an item “Convert 1/10/100/1000 Gems to Gold” which also auto calculates the gold value.
This conversion step is a waste of time.
I managed to kill Subject 7 in the Queen’s Gauntlet one time using Phantasmal Wardens (Mesmer Focus 5). Since then they just stand there and stare at Subject 7. A few of them even sheathed the axes like they were out of combat.
They occasionally attack the other oozes, but more often then not the do nothing at all.
I tested with and without Warden’s Feedback and Phantasmal Haste. They are just as inconsistent and 70-80% of the time do not attack.
Unfortunately GW2 isn’t optimized well for newer technology. It still uses DirectX 9 and only has 3 threads (last time I checked), so it has poor scaling on multicore CPUs.
Most of the in game settings will do very little for FPS as the game is heavily CPU bound. The only significant FPS boosts are from turning reflections and shadows off. They also let you control character culling a bit with the character model limit and quality settings, turn these down for zergs.
The stickied forum post “FPS and Performance based issues” from a year ago is still the only thing you can do from your end.
I just spent 8hrs trying to complete t4 of the evon trials. 2hrs was just waiting to find a group of any size. 5hrs were spent trying help people complete t3 so they could do t4.
I tried solo and with every party size. We tried using the boxes of equipment and camping near the mortars. No group had the combined survival, dps, and crowd control to complete t4 and only 1 group barely made it past t3.
I know it is possible to complete if you are on a class with full zerker + ascended gear that has high single target ranged dps plus crowd control and escape tools. The thing is that isn’t me and it won’t be within the time frame of this event. Guild Wars 2 was supposed to let you play without roles, but instead keeps rewarding max dps. I play with a hybrid of damage and support with just enough survivability, and it works well everywhere else.
Oddly enough this challenge would be easier with the holy trinity, a tank to hold the vets, a healer to keep the tank up, and dps to cc + kill the runners.
Centurion Darktooth is spawning multiple times.
This is in zone Blazeridge Steppes on server Yak’s Bend.
All of them will fight when the defend event starts.

Shoulder pads are clipping with arms. The clipping is small when standing still, but completely clips when animating.
