You conveniently bypass the fact that you can exchange gold for gems and thus buy the boxes of fun with your in-game cash. Still much cheaper than buying all the lodestones for other legendaries.
You guys are missing my point. It isn’t that I can’t spend in game money on the item. It is cheap and that is great. I can use gold to get it and that is great.
The point is that it is tied to an item (gems) whose price is determined by the input of irl cash. Is there any other item that depends on this? IF what was said about the mystic forge is true, then this isn’t an issue because there is a way to get the items through non-gem means.
Not that this would be the case, but let’s say it happened for the sake of this discussion. If no one bought gems OOG anymore, and the supply dried up, wouldn’t it be impossible to craft this item? That is all I am getting at. I don’t think that an item should be tied to something that needs irl cash inputs to exist.
(Please don’t be pedantic and say the game costs irl cash so that means all items in the game are connected to cash inputs)
I`ll bite, your hypothetical situation could happen but for a second take a step back and see the bigger picture. Lets say the gems arn’t bought anymore and the whole gemstore has gone stagnant. That would point to a game that has gone stagnant and is very near the end of its lifecycle. So basicly, what you say can happen, but the game would be in such a state that i doubt it would be around for long.
As long as the game is played by a normal number of people which would be required for A-net to keep it in business then you will expect to see a % of those ppl still spending money on the gemstore. The situation you sketched then doesnt happen and if it does it doesnt matter much anymore, cept for the last brave souls who refuse to give up on a dying game.
I might be wrong but I think this trait has been bugged since release, most or some of the time u wont get the reduced cooldown.
Empowered will give u about 1,5% increase on dps per boon, but I like the leg specialist for control though. The 1 sec per cripple doesnt look like alot, but with both weapons u have a ranged cripple and 1 sec is enough to give yourself or a party member time to get out of melee range of trash or a boss.
Crackshot is debatable, but i find myself using ranged alot in the higher level fotm and then the increased dps and the piercing shots give me a good boost to avg dps.
I run a 10/30/0/30/0 build with rifle/GS for general pve:
10 = bezerkers power
30 = 50% longerbleeds, crack shot, GS trait
30 = leg specialist (1sec immo handy for control), faster shouts and healing shouts
gear p/v/t with soldier runes for aoe condition removal, dps trinkets
Longer bleeds handy for passive 10% bonus vs bleeding targets
I generally get up close, at half health i whirl out, throw sword (immob) and switch to rifle, put out as much dps as possible while healing up, right back in.
Popular doesn’t mean effective, warrior popularity in pvp is very rapidly dying as well. I also don’t understand why you mention mesmer, but not thieves, by far the most powerful and easy to use one vs one profession when moa morph is on cooldown.
But you said yourself you know nothing of this. So… wall of text aside you wish u had some undodgeble burst while solo wvw-ing. In a game of rock/paper/scissors u cant play glue. Choices are hard, I know.
Good idea. Personally I would like to be able to stack all the gathering tools to 250. Its alot of clutter dragging a couple spares around, even more so if u mix mithril and ori tools so u dont spend the 4s ori tools on all the lesser nodes.
