Fantastic idea Galie.
Whomever thought of this needs a great pat on the back.
I’ve been absolutely dying to support the game in other ways, aside from buying gems.
I’ll be voting on there, but aside, personally, I’d like to see accessories, mugs and the like.
T-shirts are great and all, but nothing would be better than to sip my morning coffee from a Quaggan.

Came here to say the same.
Before patch, absolutely fine.
After patch, completely unplayable ping of over 2000.

Although this ultimately doesn’t effect me what so ever, I can see the frustration this must cause from other players.

A horrible decision, honestly.
If you’re that desperate for Key Sales Anet, put something worthwhile in there!

Seriously?
That’s what they picked? Why not just tone down the explosion/impact?
Or maybe, here’s a thought, tackle the guardian’s “clutter”.

Hi guys,
I’ve just returned to GW2 after a few months and I’m assuming there’s been some new graphical updates?

I reason I say this, is purely because my Staff Ele, is now firing spicy ping pong balls, rather than his usual actual “Fireball”.

I’ve looked in the menu and can’t seem to find a way to revert to the old option.

I’m assuming there is an option, as there’s no way this can be an actual change, where a designer actually said “Yes, this is fine, I like this”.

Right?
RIGHT?!

I'm confused at the level of confusion.

Firstly, let me just throw out there that I do indeed love this game, it was the first game I bought when I built my gaming rig over 2 years ago (as if somehow that exonerates me from what I’m about to say) but I just do not understand how such a large company can get it wrong on so many occasions.

I feel like I must say this, because I’d like to think that everyone’s opinion matters and issues won’t be addressed unless people are made aware of said issues.

I know I’ll probably never get an official answer, but I’d like to try anyway.

So, can someone please explain to me why 2 events very recently happened the way they did?

1) The Anniversary sale.
What a disaster. You had multiples forum and a subreddit all crying out for items they wanted, items they would physically give you money for, and you ignored them. I don’t understand that mentality. Your customers want an item and you say no?

The thing that really irked me on that one, is that you then extended the sale, only STILL to not sell the items people had requested, instead only giving them false hope.

2) Mordrem event.
In theory, this could have been a masterpiece, but all we received was just slop. It could have been a wonderfully designed event with unique rewards and a sense of people playing together to actually make a difference in Tyria. Instead, all we got was an all out mush fest where each player only proved to be a hindrance for others. I can only assume this was passed down to a newbie or a work temp to do, as it just smacked of last minute desperation.

The final thing I’d like to say about GW2 in general, is that I’m actually quite disappointed with the lore. GW1 was steeped in it! You couldn’t move for NPC’s telling their stories, explaining about different cultures and races. It was fantastic.
Then the books. Oh my, the books. They were amazing, I loved everything about them. I loved that each had different writers and each had a completely different tale to tell in a unique way.
Then GW2 comes out and I feel strangely lacking in lore. Here’s just a few words to sum up what I mean:
Kodan / Soundless / Dwarves / Unseen / Cantha / Elona / Dominion of Winds (this one especially)

Each one of those things have such little lore around them compared to the first game, all need more exploring (some both physically and metaphorically). To sum this up perfectly, I recently started playing a Norn, I met the Kodan and travelled around their village, talking to everyone, hoping someone would tell me more about them, where they came from, their customs, just something a bit more than stock text. In the end, I ended up having to look them up on the wiki, something that I think is incredibly poor storytelling.

I understand there’s always room for further regions and explanations in expansions, but if I’m off to the Maguuma, I’m going in the complete wrong direction from the Kodan or Cantha.

How do you all feel about this? I know this topic is a bit ad hoc and a bit mish mash, but it’s just a couple of things I felt like I needed to get off my chest.

If I’ve gotten anything wrong, please let me know, nicely

Thanks for reading!

Are having a return to GvG?
That was by far one of my favourite things from GW1, second only to being able to watch other high rank GvG matches for tips.

Well not exactly “Asian”, more Canthan.
You know, since he came from Cantha?
Which is based on Asia..

So yea, why doesn’t he look Asian?

What about them beards?

Yes, sorry, I understand how misleading my initial sentence was.
My Norn was a massive hammer wielding Guardian, so had to be big, (in my mind anyway). Already know that everyone moves the exact same speed, it’s just perception of the speed they move (Asura e.g).

I had absolutely no clue that making a smaller Norn would increase perception speed though, so thanks for that! Makes sense now that I think of it!

Hall of Monuments Update?

I think the general consensus is,

“Yes, we understand these things take time and yes we’re happy to wait. BUT. The lack of communication throughout this has been annoying and fuel these fires far more than it needed to”

So, after playing for a while with my Norn, I decided that they move far too slowly for my liking and created a new human character.

I was absolutely shocked to discover only one full beard for humans? Where as Norns have 8 (unique) as well as the human one.

What’s the deal?

Obviously, we all imagine Norns to be bigger, meatier and hairier, but the human beards are just pathetic, there’s 4/5 different types of stubble!

My old man ele needs a full beard that doesn’t look like it’s just stuck on with glue

I’m annoyed.
Not because it’s disabled, although I am rather disgruntled by that.
Not because it’s taken far too long to fix it, although that has not helped with my disgruntling.
But because there was no warning when I warped into my HoM.
I’ve just spent the last week getting a few extra points (in GW1) to unlock some extra skins and at no point was there any warning about how this was a colossal waste of my time, for the foreseeable future.

Why didn’t the Portal Stone warn me? Why didn’t the GW (1&2) client warn me?
Why didn’t the HoM calculator warn me?!
Why have I wasted time on something I cannot access?
Why has there been very little communication about it? (I think a grand total of 5/6 messages? Please correct me if I’m wrong).

Anet, I can 100% promise you right now that communication and transparency is absolute paramount when dealing with customers.
We can be patient if we know what we’re being patient for, and messages like “We’re really close guys!”, does not help!

I think a blanket wide “Here, have 50 points” is a bad idea, but I think there still should be some compensation, perhaps something along the lines of: Pick any 5 skins/titles from the reward track for free?
