I’m also having this issue on my newest ranger, a male asura. It seems to be character related, since I have two other rangers on this account who can swap/keep their pets just fine. Whenever I log or change maps, the pet in his first slot reverts to a pink moa, but it keeps the name of the pet I had there previously.

I just want to be able to play reset for more than 45 minutes. Is that so much to ask?

Please, please consider moving reset back to 9pm EST. Those of us on the East Coast who work the night shift or early on Saturday morning will thank you. We’d like to be able to play, too.

This isn’t really the forum for this, should’ve posted in the Looking For forum, but luckily I can answer your question. Google Shining Blades of Lore and check out their profile on guildex. They should offer all you’re looking for. There’s also info on how to get in contact with the guild leaders there.

Sword is terrible in the new maps, with all of the cliffs and the mobs and their big orange circles. I’ve never loved it, but I’ve used it. However, since HoT dropped I’ve been using greatsword and axes because the rooting is still terrible and no amount of working around will ever make it not terrible.

I get why some people really like sword. I have an asura ranger and it looks really cool, but the amount of times I’ve raged because I died when I couldn’t avoid damage (even while spamming 2 or 3) make it worth not using anymore for me, at least not in any of the new content. And I highly doubt raids will change that.

It’s such a shame, because the electric wyvern, in particular, could’ve had some interesting uses.

But unless things change, I’m never going to use it.

If it was one pet, I could live with it. It still wouldn’t be fun, but I could live with it. The fact that it’s two pets kittens me off a bit more. I have other things to do. I’m also not on EU, before that argument comes up. I don’t know if any NA guilds have started organizing Dragon’s Stand yet. I’ve looked, but so far have had no luck.

It would be nice if I didn’t have to waste two hours of my time, each time, for a chance at getting a pet before getting kicked out of the map. I want to play the game. I ask for nothing more. I just wish there was another way of getting the pets, which can be just as difficult and long as the current way, but that’s on my own terms instead.

This is beyond stupid. I don’t have time to try the event chain multiple times just for a tiger. Which is annoying because it’s the only HoT pet I really wanted. I’m not saying it shouldn’t be difficult, but it shouldn’t rely on so many little things out of my control for me to succeed. Just my 0.02$.

Guess now I’ll have to wait two months for pugs to get their kitten together.

To add to all of that I’ve seen a few forum threads of people complaining about too many rangers in that meta event because so many of us are trying to get both of those pets.

Like… if I do it on my guardian I won’t be able to relog and get my ranger so you’ll just have to deal with it. That’s if we even beat the event, which I haven’t been able to do so far.

Not going to add much, I think most of what I feel has already been said. If you don’t fix the Celestial Avatar and how to gain astral force (with or without staff), I won’t be playing druid again.

Ever.

(And I had made a new ascended armor set w/ runes, new weapons and gotten new trinkets. Looks like that was all for nothing if druid stays as it is now.)

You’ll still never get me to use sword in the new maps, just because of the aa. I want to be able to move out of the orange circles, thanks.

And don’t get me started on the “evades”… Looking at you sword #2!

Anet, I’m in a small wvw roaming guild. An extra smokefield was great to get past your new sentries. Nerf the smokescale’s damage if you must (ugh), but please put the smokefield back as the f2. I don’t need more damage, I need more utility.

At first look, these seem like decent changes in general. However, please make CA #1 heal AoE and not ground targeted. In WvW it’s going to be a pain to land heals on my constantly moving allies otherwise.

I run with a small 5-7 person guild. We’re usually roaming somewhere looking for fights. I found Druid healing, especially in CA form, to be problematic because it was ground targeted. By the time #1 and #2 landed, my guild members had dodged out of them. So either they need to be reworked, or I’ll just stick to using healing spring. I won’t give myself carpal tunnel just to run support.

Ok so in general, after I found a build I liked, I was ok with druid. However, there was one thing in particular that really bugged me. I’m in a small man roaming guild and we like to fight outnumbered. So we move and dodge a lot. Healing my guild members with Celestial Avatar is nearly impossible because the skills are either ground targeted or root you.

Please, please, please change this for better mobility, or else healing won’t see any use in WvW, where mobility is key. If I use Lunar Impact, it’s not going to heal anyone if they’ve already walked out by the time it lands. I think it would be better if the healing affected a certain area around the druid, while allowing you to move. This would be a big QoL change. I don’t just want to camp my staff, I want to make full use of the elite mechanic as well.

The only thing I will say about staff, is that the #4 is a bit slow to cast. The #5 feels kind of meh and with niche uses aside from a water field and the #3 should have an invulnerable.

I did get a lot of use out of the smokescale, so great job on that. Really hope to see it stay as is. Will probably become my second pet alongside wolf in WvW.

This was the best thing about the new ranger stuff for me. Please keep it.

Daze Druid is about as far as the excitement goes for me for now. I played a Smite Monk in GW1. Being a dedicated healer is not my thing. So yeah, aside from a daze build like the one mistsim posted, I doubt I’m going to play around with the Druid’s healing ability much.

I’m probably going to run zealot weapons/armor with cleric trinkets. That’s if I choose to invest in a Druid gear set, which I’m still on the fence about.

As for vitality, you can always run that food that gives you vitality based on your toughness and +200 power below 50% hp, should you ever really get that low.

I think HaO was fine as it was, so I really hope they don’t increase the cooldown. That being said, I do agree that the boon application needs to be changed somewhat. A Fortifying Bond type of application like someone suggested above could work out. It wouldn’t be OP, but it would still allow for more efficient boon sharing between the ranger and the pet.

An axe/torch condi build would also work.

In open world I replace frost spirit with signet of the hunt for mobility. Bonfire and flame trap will allow you to tag a lot of mobs, which means more xp. Plus, the game gives you condi gear when you’re leveling anyways. Might as well use it. Any gear where main stat is condition damage will work for leveling. Sinsister’s is only to maximize your damage when you reach 80. You absolutely don’t need it for leveling.

Uh, you do know other classes will have access to taunt once HoT goes live? Not just ranger? So like, you might as well learn to either avoid it or just deal with it, because it’s not going away anytime soon.

Also, god forbid rangers have something going for them, when they’re the weakest class in high end pvp. If you play your class well, my taunt shouldn’t matter.

Just do like I did. Go to WvW and tame a river drake. There you go, now you have two pets. It literally takes 30 seconds.

I’m also from the Montreal region and I’m having problems with the game. Unfortunately, I didn’t know about the possible fix and tried to reinstall the game. Now I don’t even have the client on my computer anymore.

I’ve been having the same problem when I try to do the story on my guardian. Tried it twice and got stuck in that exact spot. I submitted a bug report. Hopefully it gets looked into.

Bumping my topic back to the top of the page. I’ve gotten a couple good offers, I’d like a few more before I make my decision, if it’s possible. Again, post here or contact me in game, I check both.

Hello forum,

Since my current guild is branching out into multiple games and I’m not too cool with that since I mainly play gw2, I’ve decided to look into a new guild. The guild has also gotten a little too big for my taste. If I only know 15-20 out of 400 that’s not for me.

I’m not a new player, I’ve had the game for a little over a year now, almost a year and a half. I have 80s of almost every profession except Mesmer (I’m still lvling that one) and I like to do all types of content. I’ve done fractals a lot, dungeons a little bit less and a lot of mapping. I also dabble in pvp and wvw, but that last one isn’t really an issue right now.

Other stuff on the fly:

• I’m 25, almost 26 years old
• I’m Canadian, so a guild with a good Canadian presence would be awesome, but not necessary
• I’m between jobs, so while my timezone is EST I pop in at odd hours of the day and I play anywhere between 1-5 hours a day every day
• I have two accounts, my main being on BP and my alt being on SoS
• for now I’m not considering transferring my BP account since I like to roam in wvw, but if the guild I joined is awesome I’d consider it eventually if there’s a good wvw group

If there’s anything else feel free to ask me if you contact me. I also have access to TS3 right now, but I’m open to other types of voice chat. If you want to talk to me on there before considering me for your guild, I don’t mind!

Now why you’re here.

What I’m looking for in a guild:

• small to medium; because I want to be able to get to know everyone and make a place for myself, to make friends
• laid-back; I don’t need no drama, 18+ is a perk
• active; I know there are usually less people on during the day, but I’d like it that if I post in guild chat people will talk to me I also want guild where people like to do content together and encourage people to join them
• gw2 only guild; I don’t want a multi-game guild, since it’s one of the reasons I’m leaving my current one
• mostly pve and pvp, but I’d consider transferring for wvw if the people are cool and I feel like running around eternal and the bls with them
• I like making up headcanons about my characters, so while I’m not necessarily looking for a rp guild, if there are people that like to talk about stuff like that that would be cool
• I’d also like a guild where all the missions are unlocked, if possible

Huh. That sword two thing is a really good tip. I’d never thought of that. I’ll definitely be trying that next time I fight a stealthed thief.
