Let's discuss the "Error attempting to sell"

As many of us know, attempting to sell items too quickly on the Trading Post will soon generate the “Error attempting to sell” message, after which the player is required to wait several seconds before they can successfully list their item.

My first question is why this feature exists?

I’ve read that many players believe it’s to prevent bots from speed-selling. I’m not sure I believe that since it’s trivial to program a bot to wait several seconds between sell attempts and just leave it running overnight.

My second question is has the tolerance been decreased within the last month or so?

I’ve noticed I only have to sell approximately 15 items in quick succession before getting the error message, and my fellow guild members have reported similar experiences lately.

My final question is can we discuss relaxing or removing this feature?

Without knowing exactly why it’s there I can only speculate on this point, but I believe that if a feature which is designed to hinder exploitative playing is actually effecting even the most casual players, then it needs to be revised.

Thank you.

Update made us fail first guild bounty

Came here to basically say the exact same thing. The game update that happened today caused my guild to fail a bounty mission Like the OP, we assumed “within the next hour” was fine since it only takes 15 minutes, but yeah, we lost out.

A more accurate timer would be awesome, or perhaps it’s possible to not disconnect guild members with active missions? In the same way that players in a dungeon don’t get disconnected until they leave.

Crafting menu. Cannot close with f key

Not really a bug, but a usability issue.

Usually something like an NPC you can hit [f] to talk to them, then [f] again to close the window. However with the crafting window hitting [f] to close just re-opens the window.

This is most problematic when going to talk to the NPC next to the crafting station to buy supplies. If the player is too close to the station, hitting [f] brings up the wrong window and it’s a pain having to use the mouse to close it and then reposition the character and hit [f] again

Crafting menu ordering

Sometimes (maybe 1 in 10 times) when I open my crafting window, the order of each sub-category (e.g. Refinement, Bag, etc.) is not alphabetical. If I close the window and re-open it then it’s back to normal (alphabetical).
