Hi. Came back after a year+, not having problems with the thief S/P and D/P work well. Super effective. Problem is they don’t feel very “thiefy” to me. Especially the S/P. SB is great, I can usually kill everything well before it touches me. (I read and learned about combos ), however, again, not Thiefy, I have my ranger for the bow stuff.

I have not really experimented much with D/D yet. Is there a build, perhaps after you unlock traits, that is more stealthy, feels more like a D&D style rogue, or dare I say it a ninja like flavor? Before you ask, I prefer my ninja marinated in lime juice and salt, ala Brazilian style. Rsrs and all that. So, I am looking for something now, or developing into something that does not feel like a medium armor warrior with a teleport trick.

Is there anything about Thief that says you should maintain a minimum precision number while leveling? Historically, I think of thief/rogue classes as all about getting crits. But I have been power stacking, as I have read to do. Seems to work well.

Before I invest too much time, I thought I would check in here. If what I want just isn’t there, hey no worries, I love my other characters.

I’ve just come back, gone 1yr+. So I read a lot, forums, websites, dulfy, and so on. Checked out some builds on MetaBattle. I have been experimenting with Ranger, Warrior, Necro, Theif, and …my Elly is garbage. Well, I play him that way.

Went with power stacking, staff, and things were going great, until I hit 14. Suddenly I seem to be having difficulty killing things. I admit first off, I do not have the hang of switching elements. I do sometimes drop an Ice spike first, then go back to fire. My usual rotation is 2,3,1,1.

So I read some more, and thought my next steps would be:
1. Try D/D
2. Get the Flame Axe signet, and use that.

There is tons of info about builds saying “go 6/2/2/2/2” or something like it, I like max dps, big numbers, it does not bother me so much if I die, so I am completely on board with the full berserker (when I can wear it). Just as long as I don’t kitten and get someone else, or a party killed, I am happy.

That all being said, I CAN get things done, it just seems like it requires more effort and time than all of my other characters, so I assume I must be failing. Teach me forums, help me not be a baddie.

Ok. Thank you for that information. I never used email authentication. I have remember account checked in game client, but I do not know where I would set to ‘remember IP range’. How can I set up my account to force the forums and game client to ask for a code, every time?

Title says it all. I opened a ticket explaining that it is linked, setup, etc, and I get codes on my mobile device. I even see it in account profile. However, I am never asked for code during login to game, or on forums.

The ticket response was a ‘GM’ letting me know they removed the authenticator from my account.

I replied to that email, and explained I did not ask them to remove it, I was asking if it worked at all, and figure out why it did not work for me. I never said I had problems getting in to the game. I also re linked authenticator to see if it had been fixed….

Nope. Same thing. I can see it in account profile, I get codes, it is linked and configured… and I never get asked for codes.

The same ‘GM’ wrote me back again, and guess what the solution/investigation was ? If you guessed ‘we have removed the authenticator’ you are correct. No explanation, no actually reading my support ticket and responding to what I asked about, just generically removing authenticator. I am not impressed.
