I got it last night as well…. said “Error: Invalid Authorization” or something close to that. I was able to retrieve my gold and something I had bought the day before but not buy or sell anything.
I made a male Norn Guard purely because Guards are supposed to be big and burly and BIG! ….. they are suppose to take a licking and still kill you… and well, a big Norn Guard fits that bill to a T …. IMHO I even named him like a Guard… “Orion Maximus” a big powerful name.
You do realize that for the average gamer, the one like me, that plays a few hours after work a few days a week and maybe a bit on the weekends…. 500g is the same amount as 5milliong ……..
I do not argue about work, and I agree something like a legendary SHOULD be hard work to get, the problem is that for alot of people that have them it was not, it was the benefit of using an exploit. Now it is neigh an impossibility for others to get them.
I get the 5% thing, the issue I have with THIS situation is that the 5% that do have them, some of them, do not deserve them.
I do not really see how you can call cheating the same thing as “doing the hard job in 2 weeks” or being a “group of 4 hardcore players” …. in both cases (here and D3) there were game breaking exploits that were taken advantage of to give less then honest people an unfair advantage over others. The only people who ever defend these actions are the people who have taken advantage of them.
I am not sure what response ANet needs to show here, but I hope they do make one and fairly quickly, I am not near needing a legendary yet but I will tell you from experience that one of the things that will make people leave a game in droves is the knowledge that they can never “get to” the endgame in a game. Your everyday “average” player needs to know that all the spare time they take from their real lives to play a game is not wasted time and that they are going somewhere albeit slowly.
I kind of agree with this… Also I am having an issue where as a lvl130 leatherworker, I have bolts of wool and spools of wool in my craft bank and they do not show in discovery… I have tried to move them to my bag as well to no avail…. slightly annoying.
Back on topic though, would be nice to have a slightly higher drop of leathers and fabric and such.
I have to tell you, I am thoroughly enjoying GW2! I migrated from an 89.9% dead korean “grinder” published in the US as a “FTP” which translates to “PTW”, where you had to GRIND and GRIND and GRIND and GRIND and did I mention GRIND just to get 20% EXP or MAYBE get a weapon or armor that is worth doing, literally you had to kill the same mob over and over again 200,000 times to make a level in some cases.
For me and I suspect a great many others, GW2 is a “breath of fresh air”. It is playable and enjoyable by anyone, and it offers, in my opinion, significant challenges and goals that when over come or achieved are rewarding in themselves not to mention the trip there. The world is HUGE! and I am constantly finding new things on the maps.
I think what the problem is, is that there is a “type” of gamer that needs to exude power, and need to display achievement to find enjoyment, these are the same kinds of people that in the old game I played would spend over $300 a month to ensure they could “2hit” anyone in PvP.
Bottom line is this, GW2 is leaps and bounds above anything else out there, it is an improvement everywhere, and it is extremely enjoyable to play, that being said….. you cannot please everyone so all you can do is try to make the majority happy….. I am pretty sure there are more people that enjoy this game as opposed to thinking it needs to be more “materialistic”

Going to bump this up, Thank you Adam for the recruiting response but to be honest I am all set with the under 18 crowd… I mean no offense but I am 2x’s as old as an 18yr old and the last thing I want to deal with is some 13yr old’s mom in guild chat telling me what a mean man I am for uttering a 4 letter expletive in the presence of her angelic child. …. I play on Ferguson’s Crossing and have been looking for a low key guild for adults. I like to play and when I play I like to actually play, that being said I also work a full time job and am a single father.
