Guild Wars 2

I find what kills me most as a mesmer is getting hit (you don’t say?). Sometimes it’s AoE or just getting too big of a head. I run SwSw/ScPi (with blink, decoy, and signet of illusions) so I can have some good AoE and survivability for mobs, or really powerful deception for tougher foes. Deceptive Evasion at lvl 40 is a game changer. I used to go ScPi/St, but ran into very hard limitations when trying to solo certain mobs, which was when I switched to dual swords. With swords, I feel I can solo a much larger number of much tougher foes. I mostly spam illusions, attack, and move constantly. If I am ever getting hit, I know I’m doing something wrong, so I dodge back, and pop decoy if that isn’t enough. I sort of treat my illusions as a wall of deception I can hide behind when the going gets tough. But my gameplan is mostly to just get all of the enemy attacking my illusions, where I can batter them safely from a place where they can’t reach.

Several Invaders managed to knock down a wall in SM and got in. When I got there, I saw there were 6 invaders gankin on 3 of us (two of which were down) up on top of the wall. I sprinted up all nonchalant, got behind em, spammed all my clones out for intimidation and deception, then attacked em. They turned around, saw four more invaders, and promptly jumped off the wall and ran away.

What if you pop feedback on a foe (such as the mesmers in AC) that reflect projectiles, and your party launches a whole bunch of projectiles in, so they stack up over the next couple seconds, then the inner one ends and they all crush the foe. What would THAT count towards?

Hah, this one time my friend and I were on our mesmers, and he was with a zerg that managed to break a wall down to get into Stonemist, but by the time I got there and another zerg assembled outside the gate, they had repaired the wall. So I told my friend to drop portal and give us all a lift into SM. He got us all up, and we managed to successfully storm SM.
