Hi,

I was hunting for the coins in prospect valley but after getting them all, i still missed #3. I went back to the location but the coin was gone, i definitely picked it up. I tried reloading the map, and going with different chars but to no avail.

I can’t upload a picture of the achievie and location right now due to the forums though.

Can anyone help with this?

Congratulations, and welcome to the game! With a graphics card of that power, it’s a new game for you.

(And we have another proof that RTFM is a good advice)

truly mate, this is how i feel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7IvRqHaUAk. anyway, how do you close a thread? since i think this has been resolved.

After ripping out the hard drive holder of the case….. cutting it down with a metal saw for 2 hours and almost putting a blade though my hands i was able to scream:

I

AM

GOD

I MADE SOMETHING AND IT WORKS. <—( happiest person alive)

Thank you all so much for the support to find the issue and fix it, it’s happily running at x16 v1.1 and performance is so much better, it’s like seeing HD for the first time xD

If you look into the manual of your mainboard, then you find this on page 2-21:

If you intend to install only ONE graphics card, make sure that the graphics card is
Installed on the first PCIE x16 (PCI_E1) slot.

So it is really required to put the graphics card into the slot that is nearest to the CPU, which is labeled PCI_E1 on the board surface. You cannot put it into the other slot. If there is no room, you have to make room or get a new case.

well it seems i hafd this issue from the start when i installed the gtx 760………fml, now i haveto go and make room by cutting in the case or getting a new one which is gonna be a pain since i bought this pc pre-build years ago and the ape that build it probabably never imagined someone opening it…..everything is screwed up inside.

Thank you all for the replies, and the OS will not be a problem, i’m using windows 7 home premium 64 bit. and yes the change may be big, but i checked everything throughly: all the cables are properly connected, i have a sufficient psu….the ONLY thing i changed was the slot in which i put the GPU……..which may have been a mistake, i have no idea if this slot is used for a second graphics cars or not, i may have had this problem for a while but didn’t notice it until now.

Now like i mentioned, while doing render tests and monitoring in gpu-z i can see the bus speed box blinking like it WANTS to change, but i just stays at 1×.

this is my motherboard http://www.msi.com/product/mb/P55MGD41.html#hero-specification it uses the x16 slot furthest away from the cpu. cause the casing for my 2 hard drives is in the way….now i could cut a piece of it away to make room but that seems like overkill.

Try re-seating the card a couple of times. Sometimes the connections get tarnished and don’t make solid contact.

yeah, i have reseated it 3 times now and no result.

Any chance you accidentally put your graphics card in a 1X slot?

Try moving it back to the original slot and check the manual for your motherboard to make sure that you are putting it in a 16X slot.

scrap that it’s definetly in a x16 slot.
BUT, in gpu-z when doing the rendering test the bus interface blinks, but stays on x1 v1.1

Bro, if your CPU is an I5-661 means that is this—> http://ark.intel.com/es/products/43553/Intel-Core-i5-661-Processor-4M-Cache-3_33-GHz

That info said that is a Dual-Core CPU, no Quad Core.. maybe that’s the problem.. just saying.

i found that out, the fact it appears to have four is due to hyperthreading and the problem is not the cpu. pls read through the whole page before commenting. thx.

again , the gpu indeed only runs at 1x, how can i up it back to 16? since my motherboard configuration sais it hsould support it.

Download GPU-Z and verify your PCIE link speeds while GW2 is running (windowed mode or Windowed-fullscreen).

Its possible your GPU is running at 1x instead of 16x or 8×.

When i am looking at the bus interface it sais that it supports 16x and that io am running 1x in the game.

You are right, what can i do to change this? Does it have anyhting to do with the fact that i changed my gpu to the second pci-e slot due to it being to big to fit in the one i used before?

here are the settings, i can assure you that the cpu has little to do with this.

You said your CPU is a quad core i5, but you never gave the exact model number of the CPU. so no, you did not supply that yet. (Large gap of performance from a Gen1 i5 to a gen3/4 i5)

You did not show any details on what ingame settings you are currently using.

Over a year ago GW2’s Dev enabled a setting group they call ‘culling’ to the game. These 2 settings are Character quality and Character Limit in your ingame settings. Putting these to Max settings will cripple really any system, depending on the number of players in the area.

High-res character textures are currently causing issues with some systems too.

Reflections set higher then sky/terrain have ALWAYS caused issues, as reflections are also rendered below the ground (there is a GIANT ocean under each zone)

And I currently think Shadows are bugged above medium. As I am losing 20FPS on my 280x/4790k when I set this setting above medium.

So, again, supply your ingame settings.

Look, i said it twice already so i will say it again: i have the exact same cpu as before and the usage does not go over 70% on ANY core. i may not be an expert but if none of your cpu features is being overloaded i very much doubt that it has anything to do with the problem i have.

My settings are as i stated two times before LOWEST, every single option is put to the lowest setting or off if possible. Yet my GPU still is being overloaded and i get between 10-30 fps, it also spikes when looking around, again GPU and NOT CPU.

I don’t want to start an argument here but i am fairly sure my cpu has nothing to do with this, so can you please adress the problems i’m having from another direction? not every single performance issue is because of the processor. and yes it’s fairly old (4 years now) but it stil lfunctions perfectly well and also did in the past on gw2 when i had 60 fps and no problems at all, the changes to the settings do not apply since i have eveyrhting turned down and STILL have this problem while cpu usage is well below anything that could cause problems that way.

but if you really want to know, it’s an i5-661 and i will add a picture of my settings.

If you are using an i5-660/661 then it’s a dual core with hyper threading and not the same thing as a true quad core. Plus it’s a fairly old Intel core design. The dual core Pentium G3258 is 10% faster overall (just to indicate what 3 generations wrought) while the the i3-4360 is 50% faster (same 2 cores/4 threads makeup).

The game really wants 3 or more real cores.

With all due respect, I just mentioned that the CPU-usage does not go over 70% and that one year ago I had no issues at all. So it would seem EXTREMELY strange to me if that would be the issue. Like I mentioned , my GPU usqge is through the roof with a gtx 760 and I can’t grasp it. Even on lowest settings my fops does not go over 48 or so and constantly drops when looking around(again obviously not CPU bound)

You have yet to tell us WHAT CPU YOU HAVE. Nor what ingame settings you are using.

and yes, IT MATTERS.

It does not, if i didn’t have ANY cpu-issues a year ago i wouldn’t have them now, especially if none of my 4 cores(hyperthreading or not) go above 70%, end of the line.
I already mentioned my cpu specs and what ingame settings i am using, also even on the lowest setting i receive immense fps drops which clearly is NOT cpu-based, i am talking about GPU problems. if my cpu while not being overloaded has anything to do with it then at least mention WHY, thx.

And for the other reply: thx for mentioning that but i already tuned every setting down to the minimum and it barely improves performance(from 20-30 to 40-50 fps with bad frame drops still happening when looking around), i really don’t get this.

Hi, after a retirement for like a year i decided to play guild wars 2 again. In the last year i upgraded my gpu from a geforce gts 250 to a geforce gtx 760, went from 4GB to 16GB of ram and also have a faster hdd installed.

Back in the old days performance was fine except for for example wvw(but i guess that’s normal) But when i started up gw2, hoping to have an even nicer experience then before, my fps didn’t get over 20-30 and went down to 10-15 when looking around. i checked my gpu stats and saw that everything was fine and not even using 50% EXCEPT for the gpu-load, which was constantly maxed out.

I really don’t understand this…..any advice? even on the lowest settings i have lag.

How about posting your CPU specs and what ingame settings you are using?

My cpu is a quad core i5 3.33 Ghz, but i can pretty much say that is not the problem since it’s usage does not peak above 70% when playing the game. and i am using medium settings overall. my gpu-load is through the roof the entire time though.
