Thanks every one, this is all really good input.

Orpheal, I looked over your concept and I actually agree that 3 is a better number to shoot for. having 4 subs makes things much more complicated, although the potential is there, trying to maintain a balance is already difficult enough. However I still firmly believe the Idea of new classes, and sub classes needs more attention.

I like your Idea, however I agree that renewing old content isn’t the right way to go. If they did use the older items, I think it would be better to change them up some how. A good example of this is Final Fantasy Summons/Espers . In every game they use the same basic creatures, and add or remove some others. But the key to it is the drastic changes from one game to the next. Ifrit and Sheva are the best examples because they are in almost every game. Point is, if they do bring back old items from GW1, they will be better off with a modernized reworking. Even then tho, the item could still be a hit or miss.

Personally I absolutely despise the current Legendary Pistol, and as a Dual wield Pistol Thief with a full build revolving around that premise, I am sort of SOL in this regard. In case you haven’t seen it, the Legendary Pistol called Quip is the ugliest looking clown gun ever, complete with popping sounds and colorful Twizzler bullets. That may be good for a Joker/clown type person, but myself, and many others are utterly repulsed by it. Personally I can’t help but compare the Pistol to the Rifle, a weapon we Thieves can’t even use, and much to my dismay, the rifle is amazing. The thing is an epic Laser Blaster!

So back to my point then. Legendary weapons currently stand with pretty much every thing else I have seen in GW2. Favoritism for the warrior class trumps all. That aside, there needs to be more legendary weapons period. The lack of variety is disheartening, especially in a case like mine where your favorite weapon is among the worst weapon designs EVER. Hell, I say why stop at new weapons? Add Legendary Armor as well Anet. How hard can it be to make 3 sets of armor (One of each Type) that have a unique feel and offer something a cut above the norm? If you need some Ideas, Just ask the community for some concept art, I would gladly design some for you if I knew you would take it seriously. Hell make a thing of it and offer rewards for the best designs. Then just sit back and watch the flood gates break open as tons of fan art comes flowing in.

So yeah…. New Legendary Weapons- This is a great Idea, regardless of how its done.
New Legendary Armor? This is a great idea that needs to happen.
Content with Historical Ties? -Also should be done, it helps with immersion.
Lastly if imagination is in short supply up there, simply ask the community for aid, I guarantee there is no shortage of willing/imaginative artists among us players.

That Blade dancer sounds really cool to me.

Also If they were to expand upon the existing classes, then sub-classes are a good means to do it. Sure traits can already take you to that place your shooting for. But having an actual choice into which field you then expand into would be really cool too.

For instance, the blade master sounds like a branch off based on the warrior, it could be accomplished by having a prerequisite set of points devoted into certain fields in the trait option, like max of one particular can unlock it`s availability for level 80+ content.

Warriors could have a Legitimate Berzerker Sub Class as well. In my opinion there is potential for 4 sub classes this way, all based on which area you decide to max out.

Warrior
1. Blade Master – Dual blades with emphasis on aforementioned stances
2. Berzerker – Masters of the 2H Swords and damage output
3. Juggernaut – Blunt objects that smash faces and tank for days ;p
4. War Lord – Natural leaders and a force to be reckoned with in any battle ( Aka boons
and such)

Thief (My class)

1. Assassin – Naturally the masters of the stealth kill and dual daggers
2. Rogue – Traps and sabotage, combined with some acrobatic prowess
3. Gun Slinger, Bounty Hunter, Mercenary ( I’m having a hard time with a title for the
Gun lovers like myself) – The range master of this class, emphasis on projectile
combat
4. And maybe an actual Acrobat could be the final choice, kings of speed and agility

I don’t know, my suggestions are very in the moment with little forethought, Other peoples suggestions are not just welcome, but encouraged, and I don’t want to do this for every class so I’m stopping here. ;p

I hear tell in other forums of potential new races, surly they will release a new class with the new race. One can only assume tho, so to break away from what we know is covered and into new territory how about…

A. A Chronomancer? Word is this might be a viable class, its unique and offeres a cool potential skill set.

B. A summoner ( Not really a good idea I know , its like a Necro, but to the opposite effect. Even if you give give it more emphasis on the summoning than a mini mob of useless like a Necro, the real Problem is Ele’s also have some summons already)

C. Assassins- What Thieves should have been…

D. A Monk or other Martial Warrior- Sta kitten fist weapons or nothing at all, this is a very viable class type, the Light armor Melee is not there yet. Thieves are medium armor and martial warriors would use Ki as a power source me thinks, their move set would be totally different, high agility and damage, but that just my opinion.

My point is, RNG sucks, but without it there is nothing special about what you get. We all face the same opposing situation and some of us fare better than others, that’s as true in life as it is in this game. So I agree with both of you and even though my example wasn’t directly related, its the same issue. ( same crap different pile)

I say it needs to be easier on your wallet, especially if this is an annual reward. Otherwise GJ GW2 ;p

Personally I can understand the logic from both sides here, I have a Fused weapon skin that pretty much cost me 75 dollars real cash to get. I wasn’t having no for an answer in regards to its acquisition, yet the price tag on my 1 skin is more than the cost of the whole game. So from where I sit, it should be easier to get them, just not by much. I don’t mind spending a few bucks, 20 or so to be satisfied with my indulgences, but to have to go as far as to spend 75 or for some push 100 dollars? That is not fun at all, especially when there were no other means to get fused weapons to my knowledge.

Yet on the other hand I still have a grin on my face when people ask where I got it, or how to get one. It’s rarity is important too and balance is key here. Just like party hats from a certain browser based game we probably all played, the value of these items could be monumental. So thinking long term, IF they keep releasing the same stuff every holiday, then every one will get their chance and the item is pretty much as common as all the rest eventually. But if this is a one time deal that will never again come to be??? well that item is priceless. Personally I believe the content for living story is temporary and the vendors available now are only for those who have yet to use their tickets. But I could be wrong, in which case My short bow is not as valuable as I thought it was and I wasted 75 bucks.
