Elementalist Change: Attunement and Arcane

I mentioned this in the Elementalist forums and just wanted to throw these out there. Would love to see the following changes:

1. Remove Attunement Recharge Rate from the Arcane skill tree and make it 9 seconds.

2. Add a new attunement – Arcane, and have the skill tree reflect additions to the new attunement. Can have something like this for skills ( yes, some of these would take away from skill points )

1 – Arcane Bolt – the usual #1 type of attack, shoots a bolt of arcane energy etc, etc.
2 – Arcane Trap – AOE field that when triggered causes crippling effect and a dot effect as well
3 – Arcane Flash – Like Fire #3 that his foes in a range with Arcane damage
4 – Arcane Wave – A wave of arcane that pushes foes backwards and causes crippling. Also pushes the caster back
5 – Arcane Storm – AOE field that causes surges of arcane energy to jump from foe to foe causing blindness and crippling

Just some preliminary thoughts on how this could be fleshed out and improve the class. Of course, the examples I gave above are the staff skills. I’m sure I could come up with skills for the rest of the weapons given time, but would welcome others input on this as well.

Also, would love to see the Trait sets matched so that they make sense. For example:

Fire = Condition Duration & Condition Damage
Air = Precision & Critical
Earth = Toughness & Power
Water = Vitality & Healing Power
Arcane = Boon Duration & Cantrip/Glyph Recharge ( or something like that )

Also, these are not set in stone, and think you could switch Fire with Earth.

STAFF. and how do you play it ???

Hello, staff ele checking in. I’ve played staff ele since the Betas and had no problem leveling up to 80 with it. I mainly do WWW now, and yes I use a staff. You’re not going to be the uber solo ganker in WWW, but you’re also not useless, and I have won plenty of 1 v 1 while playing. When I do roam solo in WWW I do switch to dual daggers, but when I’m running with a group, it’s staff all the way.,

I have had to alter my build and gear as time has progressed to keep up with the changes to the class. PVE is actually pretty simple when it comes to playing staff, and is even more so after you spend some time doing WWW.

The one thing that drives me crazy and I would love to see a change made is attunements and arcane. Other classes have weapon swap, which is similar to our attunements, except theirs is on a set timer. Why can’t attunement simply be on a set timer, and change arcane to be an attunement! That way the current necessary points in arcane could be put somewhere else, or putting points into arcane would give you bonuses and extras based on the new arcane spells associated with it.
