I was pretty excited over the new player experience, but it soon felt like a chore in a month or so. I left the game for half a year to tend my issues outside the game and returned hopeful for big changes. It didn’t take long for me to realise the cons of the game many ex-players hinted and even belabored at, so why not lower my expectations, I asked myself. I just want capes. My mistake for not knowing how unlikely it was and the hostility it surfaces when mentioned. Art can give that impression, it seems.

The Support Team pulled through. I tried to pay attention to every little detail up until the point that it finally worked. I won’t say for sure what error caused this issue, but I can fill in what may have contributed to its success. I was given a step-by-step procedure in changing or resetting my password. But unlike the previous attempts to go through the manual password reset, I copied and pasted the log-in credentials given by the Support Team to login the website, and then went on to do the same with changing my password [using it as the old password], I copied and pasted one of the complex passwords provided by the Support Team as my new password. Upon doing so, there should be a large green text that indicates your password has changed. I am sticking with the new password, not for my own preference, but for my sanity…

After giving permission the Support Team the direct access for my account to further investigate the issue, they provided me new log-in credentials so I could once again change my password. I am faced with being refreshed the edit profile account page at every turn to my new complex passwords, and directed to this page: https://account.guildwars2.com/account?reason=ErrBadPasswd

Even before doing so, I checked to see if the log-in credentials from the Support Team would allow me to log-in to the game, but it continues to say there was an error logging in and to try again, sadly enough. I hope there is help in the near future as I will have to be kept given new passwords to reenter the website, but never in the game.

Of the complaints about this issue, has there even been a success? I feel as though this is beyond their scope and will have to suffer a loss of new players.

The customer support is ongoing as of two days ago with many updates I relayed. I am thorough with the instructions given on logging into the game as the first time was successful, taking the chance to sift through the server names, whichever server my friends were online. I have no trouble with the passwords of my choosing, but they seem to be invalid the second time I input them, never to be reused should I change it.

The manual password lent to me was the last time I was able to enter the website. Any attempts to change my password, using the manual password to serve as the old one, now simply redirects me to this website: https://account.guildwars2.com/account?reason=ErrBadPasswd

Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center

Change adapter settings for either Local Area Connection or Wireless Network Connection. Click properties. Untick AVG network filter driver. Restart the game client and wait for it to download. Hopefully it works for you too in order to install. I think it’s safe to tick AVG filter driver after its completion.

In the late evening of October 22, I was gifted a digital deluxe edition for Guild Wars 2. I registered with her serial code, directed to the download client, and waited for the game installation to be completed the next morning. I logged into the game, but seeing as I was in a hurry to leave for my classes, I have yet to make a character on any server. I logged off. As I returned home, eager to play, I was surprised to see that my login information was dismissed as invalid. I followed through the instructions for account recovery, but it instantly alerts me an error has occurred and I should contact customer support.

I submitted tickets under account issues, password reset, and possible compromised account. I was provided with a link to reset my password on my first ticket. It went smoothly until I noticed the new password would not gain me entry to the game itself. I was prompted with the same alert to recover my account. I, once again, input the new password to log into the website, terribly not surprised to see that it is also dismissed as an invalid password. I quickly make a second ticket in frustration. I was provided with a manual password reset so as to change the password, though it has yet to allow for any of my complex passwords to be the current one.

I fear that if I should log out again from this website, I will not be able to reenter. I tested out my new passwords from two different computers. Whereas I am logged into the website with my laptop, my desktop PC has yet to be logged in, because the password(s) I was given were dismissed as invalid. I’m not sure what to do anymore. I was told to simply give up and ask for a refund when looking for outside help.
