Not a fun ride on HoD to the bottom.

Honestly, Kaening could spawn camp us at this point. Not sure if there’s even many remnants of the remnants left.

I can assure you taunts won’t ‘bring us out to fight,’ so might as well save them for ET.

Trust me, if there were a way to actually get to the very bottom where we belong at the moment, I’d take it in a heartbeat.

I just hope you can retain your population through a week of virtually no PvP, coupled with an ugly reality check next week regarding a population density and coverage you’re about to face, added to your bandwagon load. I honestly mean it when I say, “Good luck!”

I know that traffic and culling issues plague WvWvW.

As a radiologist, I’m pretty limited in the technical understanding of our systems, but I have a passing knowledge enough to know our approach to large data sets.

1) We use asynchronous transfer of information for imaging on our PACs systems (which may require higher bandwidth, but for us transmits massive amounts of primary information the fastest we can achieve). I am quite ignorant in the implementation and limitations, and I apologize for that.
2) When inundated with massive volumes of 3D data on our 3D MRI acquisitions and Fournier transformations, we’ve adopted an approach to the data that is elliptical as opposed to linear. We start in the middle at the highest yield data and work outward, realizing that we are sacrificing the peripheral data as artifact. If the start point of your valuable data far outshines the peripheral data, and you can identify the start point in the data set, the results are exceptional.

My thought was that a system of reporting that prioritized registering rudimentary presence, rudimentary effects, and worked out wards towards increased data, but was willing to clip the details in lieu of the first two factors. Maybe even shifting the onus client side?

I don’t know if this is anything you are already very familiar with (you likely are), though, so good luck with whatever paths you take.

Here’s why you really want RUIN on your nights:

In my experience against them, they continue to fight, even when down, and if you give them the room, they’ll rout you. That tenacity and their numbers will fill most gaps, and coupled with SEA/Oceanic coverage and a modicum of organization during the days you’ll win it all.

If your aspiration is to take out the top seed, this is what you’ll need, and you should thank them often and loudly if you guys do go all the way.

There’s still fight here. Boda and I log in and do what we can where we can. Always outnumbered at this point and often fighting ET and JQ. We don’t have the numbers, but many still have the fight.

And to those that never quit the fight: Vihar’s crew and JQ, thank you.

I’ve been on HoD since launch. My friend Boda and I were there for every fight we were down, logged in and contributing however we could, never giving up.

We loved the heart out there this week, it reminded us of early HoD. It might be time to see what we can offer playing for JQ, not an army, just a couple guys who love to fight.

So we’ve correctly identified the very unique snowballing synergy between TA and HoD as the reason no one has beat us yet, something I believe everyone on HoD has mentioned before.

We look at NS and AA as the counter example of a similar synergy that wasn’t close to the magic TA and HoD had at the time, and the following examples of how relatively limited the talented AA and Ruin were following the transfer and hope TA runs into the same limitations to ’bring the level of competition back down." The not so secret hope they just become an IoJ or slightly higher level of competition.

Now as your soul breaks in WvWvW you request a breakup of the unique synergy that crushed you instead of rising up.

Sad.

You won’t see Vihar or Menaace out there begging for weaker or watered down competition. Chances are you won’t see AA attack something they almost were and want desperately to best.

Sad.

Honestly, you’re lucky TA loves the fight to the extent they consider it. Sometimes even I hope we lose for various reasons, but I never want to hand it over.

And playing on JQ BL last night there were some glorious fights to be had. I think I killed an Anet dev playing for SBI.

JQ never stopped bringing the pain. I was shocked when I saw the MMAC tag as well.

I expect great fights today.

Anet says the players have the solution in front of them .

You literally have euros and NA screaming about lack of coverage outside their ‘prime’ in the same thread.

You literally have FS, IoJ, and SoS as well as SBI and ET in the SAME thread, agreeing with each other and set on nothing else but winning number 1, but not taking the next simplest step. Several servers with already functional organization/alliances.

The next step is so intuitive, so simple.

Seriously, does Anet have to grab and distribute the vent info themselves and coordinate a meeting time with a nice 30min reminder before conference time? Do they have to REPOST the coverage data and then show snapshots of server populations at relative ‘off peak’ times to reassure PvE is also possible (SBI is often higher than HoD)?

How many people upset have said ONE WORD towards recruiting the poster under them?

They should never have designated servers as EU or NA…that is the problem.

Also, far too many whiners and quitters in today’s MMO players.

They have no heart and no mental toughness. Just a bunch of mama’s boys.

They either quit when they are losing, or try to jump on the coattails of someone else’s success so they can pretend they are good, too.

You PVP for the joy of slaughter, not because of a scoreboard.

Suck it up.

It would seem that Anet has taken the bold stance that WvWvW is a setting not for those that love to win, but for those that love to fight.

I know you might not believe it, Slic, but the fights tonight for HoD were as epic and challenging as anything I’ve encountered in the past decade of gaming.

It’s not quite Meph’s taking on entire small groups and zones solo, but fighting a large scale war on two fronts with both coming for you with everything they’ve got; it’s for real.

Which leads me to something I was suspecting would be the case from the start: HoD, (and TA in particular) is showing pure class this round. A relentess love of the fight. Fighting with everything they’ve got. Again and again.

Real PvPers already know, it’s not about the win, Slic, it’s about the fight….and oh the fights that are happening now…

You’re probably right. Just felt I had to put it out there.

And yeah, drwookie, Virchow was a giant amongst men.

I rolled with CoLD (an incredible group of PvPers) this round, and we started on HoD.

At launch we learned ‘a big alliance’ was rolling on HoD as well, and we didn’t know how it’d play out. A previous valiant attempt at creating a RIFT player based alliance didn’t pan out.

The game launches and of course, after the introduction and getting some tools use weapons, we jump to WvWvW. Queues were small/none at that point.

-The first thing I noticed was our night presence.
-The second thing I noticed was solid tactics from TA

And then I noticed the game changer: Everyone not in TA.

For whatever reason, there was a sizable population of smarter PvPers on HoD. CoLD brought it’s share.

What makes a smart PvPer?

Take my friend Boda. He gets into whichever map he can, then spends most of his time actively defending and building up defenses of keeps. He runs supply manually often. He rezzes anyone and everyone he can. He focus fires off the people around him and handles the sides of zergs to stop or widen any pincer moves.

When I jump on we go hit supply. I have a personal vendetta against dolyaks and supply depots. We try to roll the far supply before the points the points roll over.

If we encounter a squad of DiE or TRF, we jump into formation. We roll with the green dots tight. When they move, we move. Where they fight, we fight, and we keep an extra set of eyes out where we can. When siege goes up we throw in our supply (we always have supply, and when we need more we try to take only from supply depots). We protect our rams. We reflect and retribution every chance we can. If someone overextends I try to get a portal to them to get back (they rarely click it in time).

The most remarkable thing: It’s not just us. It’s close to everyone doing the right things.

You can’t imagine how good it feels to know what the right thing to do is, and have most of the people around you know and execute it as well.

You can’t imagine how good it feels to be appreciated as well, or to be on the side that encourages our competition.

I believe that we happened to luck into this arrangement. I think about what happened to another server with TL and the crowd they’ve gathered, and I say thanks to whatever powers are out there for us being where we are.

This doesn’t mean that we get to play all the time, in fact the queue times forced CoLD’s hand to splinter off.

This doesn’t mean that we’ll always win, because sooner or later we’ll lose (I secretly hope it’s SBI that takes us out eventually).

I will say though, that most on HoD, the good PvPers would handle a loss better than some alliances and guilds have to date.

Anyway, that’s Virchow’s take….and if you get rolled out there in the evening in the BL by a Norn Mesmer and Norn Ranger, that’s Boda and I kicking butt.
