Guild Wars 2

I played on Gandara and on Aurora servers which are both EU and had lag. I transferred to NA server Ferguson’s Crossing specifically to join this guild and I now have no lag. I myself was amazed at this. I live in the UK as does Res above.

Hedo is a lovely friendly guild and I’m loving being a member

I know we have invisible bags that don’t show at a merchant. However when we swap weapons those weapons don’t default to the invisible bag. Is there a weapon that simply missed seeing? If so how can I get one? I mistakenly salvaged my sword and torch this morning thinking they were older/lower ones as they weren’t in the invisible bag. Not the first time I’ve ‘lost’ a weapon inadvertently.

Where are the weapon bags for weapons to default to when we swap weapon?

There’s very much an age divide on what measures are used. Pre 30’s often don’t understand inches at all but the older generations always use inches. As for weights, a body is weighed at home mostly in stones and pounds, but at the Doctors etc in kilogrammes. Height most know in feet and inches but the Doctors use metres. [ie: 5 foot 0 inches = 1.52m or 152cm.
Most of the older generations still shop in pounds and ounces although all the scales are in grammes. The younger generations automatically use metric as they were never taught the imperial system. But still all distances on signs etc are miles.

So maybe I should broaden my horizons and check it out for myself

Khisanth, can I ask why you swapped to EU servers?

ISP for me is Virgin cable. Oldham/Tameside area.

since I’ve been looking for a EU guild I’ve had several NA guilds ask why I won’t consider going there. I assumed there would be lag issues from UK to USA but they insist they have many EU members who don’t find it a problem.

So I’m anyone who has tried playing or still does play on NA servers from the EU area:

How do you find it?

UK new player wants a friendly guild to call home. Interested in PVE and WVW.
This game looks awesome. I want to explore every aspect of it. I am happy to listen on voice coms but me talking will be rare as I’m rarely alone.

Will start fresh on any EU server.

I’ve spent the last week trialing and narrowing which class I want to play. They are so different from other games.

I want to take time to enjoy every aspect of the game so no hardcore elitist guilds please.

Settings have been tried way low to the detriment of the look of the game but didn’t help when it was bad. I’ll take the suggestion to try guesting for living story see if it’s any different.

FC and TC are NA area and high or very high I think. I’m EU and we actually have some servers at medium.

I can play for hours with no trouble but come evening there’s definite lag between key-press and visual. Sometimes I it’s just that gap… but other times it’s like the whole game hesitates for over 5 seconds, then suddenly goes mad and catches up. I’m learning when it’s at it’s worst to keep pressing keys even when I can’t see anything happening just to stay alive. I’m on a high pop EU server atm.

mostly pve is not too bad except for peak hours, but really really bad in living story content most of the time. I’m not high enough level for much more yet. I have tried wvw twice but that was impossible so haven’t tried since.

Are medium pop servers as laggy as high or very high pop servers? Wondering if they increase power/spec on very high to compensate, or if moving to a medium pop server would help reduce lag? Ty

Just read a thread on your forum and looks like EU mostly switch to NA? Are there any lag problems accessing NA from UK?

I want to learn all aspects of the game and yes i’m new. Active BST evenings (GMT+1) 7.30 – 10pm and a lot more weekends.

I just started and so I’m looking to find a guild but the guild recruitment forum seems to be 90% NA guilds? It isn’t easy to find EU guilds that are recruiting. Other games separate different ‘areas’ into different forums. That system works well.

So apart from struggling trawling through there is there any other website with EU guild adverts I could read through that would make it easier?

Hi Eyia, I know just how you feel. Like you I’m very new (downloaded yesterday) but I haven’t got to level 10 yet.

I’m pretty sure the chat box will work on / with a letter? We need a list of which and I’m sure it’ll be hiding in the help section somewhere. Guesses would be /p for party chat if you’re in a party. /g for guild chat? /s for chatting to someone you can see. /m works but I’m not sure if that’s world chat or what? Confusing huh?

Hint for guild hunting. Say which server you’re on. Unless you’re willing to delete your character to change server that is? (you can see which when in character selection screen, lower left list of name, class etc has server name also) If you already know all this then please excuse lol.

I’m mature UK female (over 30 :P ) and very newb. Downloaded the game yesterday. I want to have fun learning every aspect of the game with friendly guild chat and grouping. My playtime is BST (GMT+1 daylight saving) evenings and more on weekends.

I want to find a guild that has players leveling and is happy to help with advice etc, to get to know everyone and make a permanent home. I will be exploring, map clearing, gathering, crafting at some point. I also want to learn wvwvw, dungeons and maybe pvp too at the appropriate times.

(I’m on Gandara so any guild on different server will not fit. )

I started yesterday and have a lot to learn. Will look if the game will let me change server. I want to have fun learning in a friendly atmosphere. I would love to help others once I know what I’m doing lol.

I started today on Aurora Glade. I’d love friends to explore and do hearts etc with. I want to learn everything this game has but without pressure to rush anything.

I’m downloading now and looking to find a fairly new guild. Yours is the second guild advert I’ve seen for Aurora Glade that I like what I read. Hope it lets me on that server.

I never heard of being allowed to belong to more than one guild at the same time before?
