Therion Bathory ~ Engineer
[AoL] – {NA – Blackgate}
I noticed the same thing.
Was just curious what stat values you, as an individual, absolutely must have in your build when going into WvW. This is directed at those that run anything other than P/D conditions, because I feel it isn’t difficult to min/max the desired stats for that build.
Not asking everyone to post build links, as I know some prefer to keep their setup private, but what numbers do you (realistically) strive for when doing a build. Looking for a layout like:
S/P + SB
2/6/0/0/6
>1900 power
35-40% critical chance
>15,000 health
>2300 armor
>200% crit damage
And apparently using the word “kitten ” gets filtered to “kitten”
edit: Nevermind….
Just wanted to say I enjoy your videos. I switched from conditions over to power a while ago but I got burned out on the usual grenades and bombs. Have been playing this build since I saw your first video. It’s very fun, although I am still learning to utilize the Elixir Gun. I usually forget I have it slotted and I just kinda kitten when I swap to it.
With the recent patch, I’ve been messing around with a 10/0/3…. er 2/0/6/0/6 for the turret reflections. Miss out on the firearms line and the rifle cooldown. But its pretty satisfying bouncing attacks back at ranged opponents.
I can’t find the source at the moment, but I believe it was in a Ready-Up episode where they stated that Improvisation will now refresh skills that are currently on your toolbar. So if you have 2 signets and 1 deception skill, you could assume that stealing would refresh the cooldown of either signets or deception skills. You could also assume that if you had nothing but venoms slotted, those would be refreshed.
I did not see an official statement made in the patch notes about this. Guessing they left it out or are “still working on it”
Sounds fun. Count me in
Was curious what criteria is the deciding factor in which teams get to participate should more than 16 teams sign up.
Bump to the top. Still looking.
My thiefs name is Lisette Bathory. Hoping some of the people I have run with before see this, as I always forget to friend them in game.
I am looking for a team to join/form for the Legendary Tournament and to run regularly with.
I run a bursty build that also focuses on being very mobile. My best maps are Niflhel and Kyhlo. I try to focus on team fights, decaps, and high threat targets.
My schedule is usually 5pm-11pm CST Mon-Fri. Saturday/Sunday 12pm-whenever. I have TS3 and am in it to win it.
I would prefer to use Rocket Boots or Slick Shoes in place of a turret for sure. I cant remember the exact traits I used when I was messing around in hotjoin, but I was using Rifle, healing turret, grenades, tool kit and slick shoes. I figured out the burst that always destroyed me when encountering some engineers (magnet – pry bar – overcharged shot – throw wrench – blunderbus – jump shot) Pretty fun to do, but man, lots of keyboard dancing.
But there were instances where I would get overwhelmed in a fight and like my brain would freeze up and I didn’t know what to do
Will give that Rifle/SD build a try. Thanks for the tips.
25/30/0/0/15 all dps build is good if you are familiar with fractals. I personally run Valkyrie armor with Scholar runes and zerker trinkets/weapons.
Heres the base build I use. This assumes using Dagger/Dagger. Below are the variants I use
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fYAQJAoYlcm6OHcy4E95Ex2jeuTe6fAs6MwZLB-jgxAkfQqAQ6rIasF3ioxqrxUuER1A-e
I swap out for different traits and skills depending on the fractal. Some bosses you can go D/D with, some are better to range.
For trash mobs I go S/P, in DA swap out (IX)Dagger Training for (X)Combined Training and in CS swap out (III)Side Strike for (X)Critical Haste or (IX)Combo Critical Chance.
If its a ranged DPS fight I go Pistol/Pistol with CS(V)Pistol Mastery and DA(X)Combined Training.
For Trickery line, I either use (IV)Flanking Strikes or (V)Thrill of the Crime.
You can go with a more survivable build like the above mentioned 0/30/25/15/0 until you are more familiar with the encounters, then swap over to more DPS.
So I power leveled my engineer to 80 using Tomes of Knowledge, and I only have about 20 hours play time on him. I know, lazy.
I am mostly interested in doing some tPVP and WvW roaming with this character. I primarily play thief, and I hate fighting engineers. Seeing them totally wreck $*#@ and all the abilities they have intrigued me.
Took mine into hotjoin the other day just to mess around, I was pretty terrible. So many abilities.
I guess I am looking for suggestions for builds that aren’t too advanced but still fun to play and will help me learn this class. I still PVE with my guild from time to time but I learned that fighting against other players will really get you to understand your class mechanics and how to play them. The Teldo Dailies have been really helpful, but figured I would ask here.
Ultimately I am looking at having high survivability and deal with multiple opponents as I have seen so many of you guys do.
