Thanks a lot for the input! So far I didn’t know, that there was a special time, when the water field activates. I always thought, it’s there exactly in the moment when I activate cleasing burst. Can you tell me, how long the waterfield normally stays active in a cleaning burst, so how many seconds do I have for the blast finishers?

I’ve got a problem with healing turret, which I only used since some days now. Theoretically I thought of the following method:
1. Placing healing turret
2. Activate cleansing burst for the water field
3. Use shield-4 (magnetic shield) as blast finisher near the turret
4. Use EG-4 (acid bomb) as blast finisher near the turret
5. Detonate healing turrret as blast finisher
So theoretically I should get 2 heals from healing turret alone and 3 area-heals for the use of tkittenlast finishers in the water field. What I do exactly:
1. Pressing “6” two times rapidly
2. Pressing “shield-4” two times rapidly
3. Changing to EG and pressing “4”
4. Instantly pressing F1 for detonation of the turret.
Sometimes I got 1 of the blast finishers to trigger the healing, sometimes not a single one. Is there something wrong with what I thought or is it wrong to press everything rapidly, perhaps the need to wait between some steps? Or is it simply a bug? Tried it several times in the mist now, but don’t get it to work… How do you get this to work?

this game makes me mad. ;-) Some time ago I decided to go for the legendary rifle “predator”, because I simply love the style and effects. Since the sniper rifle fits more to a warrior, I created one and tried different areas of the game with him for some time now. In the beginning the high dps was fun, but sooner or later it got a bit boring and in WvW it simply is not much fun.
Now I’m only missing 30 obsidian shards for the “predator” and find myself going back to my engineer a lot of the time. In fact, I don’t really think that I want to “waste” the rifle to a warrior, since I plan on doing PVE and WvW (perhaps a bit sPVP, but not much).
The build my engineer uses is a condition-based build with p/s and grenades. Now to my question: Is there a valid build for engi, which uses condition-grenades together with the rifle and can be successfully used in PVE and WvW? Or is it stupid not to use pistol/shield in a condition-build. An alternative I think of is selling the predator and getting the “Flameseeker prophecies” for my engi.

I’m leveling my warrior and nearly have all the mats together (with my guardian) for the legendary rifle “The predator” (just need 50 more obsidian shards), also have the precursor already. I went for it, because the predator is the best-looking legendary imho.
Since I don’t play my engineer anymore, because I don’t like the fact, that I may not make any mistakes and use all my skills quickly to get near the dps of other classes (though engineers are powerful in PVP), I thought of my warrior and giving predator to him.
The last days I was reading this forum and became hesitant, just because everyone seems to moan about the warrior and its weeknesses.
So here’s my question: If I plan to do 60% PVE (dungeons), 30% WvW-Zerg and 10% WvW-smallgroup/solo, is it a good idea to
1. take a warrior and
2. give him the predator?
My dream-combo would be Rifle / Axe+Horn… is there a valid build for the things I’d like to do? Or should I just sell the predator, because I will never use it with my warrior when its underpowered or something?

Hi everyone,
though I have plenty of fun with my guardian and always feel “needed” in dungeon-groups with my defensive buffs, I sometimes just wish to have a “raw damage machine” and want to feel “needed” with aggressive buffs and … well, damage. Also, I am a huge fan of the rifle, don’t like my engineer too much anymore and have the crazy idea in mind about a human warrior, t3 armor and (perhaps some time in the future) the legendary rifle “predator”… :-))
I read a lot in these forums and hesitate now. Nearly all topics are about the warrior being in need of a buff, being bad at WvW or too squishy. So far I always thought, warriors are a fun class and important for group-play, but now I think, if something has happened, so that this class is no good idea to roll nowadays?
To let you know: I mainly do PVE (dungeons) and WvW, nearly no sPVP. Would you think, to roll a warrior would be a good idea for me or is it really this bad, like a lot of topics seem to state?

I like both names, though they don’t exactly fit the lore of the Asuran, would say 7/10 and 8/10 for Krye, because it reminds of “cry”, which fits a Necromancer. ;-)
My Asura Necromancer is called “Synergist Zonkk”.
I wanted to go with the lore of the Asuran (double consonant, possible title). Also I thought of an old German TV-Show, where people had to chose between three gates. Behind one of them was a great price, behind the others were "Zonk"’s, a mean little red plush-animal…
I have also the problem with the shoulders not showing up. Also my “tiny” ears are clipping through the helmet, when wielding a weapon. :-(

But in the current game all condition builds are completely broken in wvw dues to the popularity of melandru runes + lemongrass food. Any opponents worth fighting will be taking at least 40% less damage from you and as much as 90%+ resistant to your cc.
That’s right, but on the other hand, most WvW-players aren’t exactly experts and don’t use these runes and don’t have tons of condition removal. In my experience, condition- and glasscannon-builds are the most successful in WvW, but may be my server and that I mainly met people, that are as amateur as I am.
I use a very similar build, but with some changes:
Traits: In ‘Curses’, I use VII (Master of corruption) instead of IX, since I don’t use wells (stack too much with power, which I don’t have much of) but corruption skills. In ‘Death magic’, I use II (larger and unblockable marks) instead of VIII and in ‘Blood magic’ I take I (shorter CD for dagger-skills) instead of VIII, because I use dagger #4 a lot together with the conditions I have and get through using corruption skills.
For slot skills, I usually go with corruption skills, always use ‘Blood is power’ and ‘Corrupt boon’, often also with ‘Epidemic’, which is sometimes changes to ‘Spectral walk’ for the swiftness (esp. in WvW).
My armor is also all rabid, my trinkets are carrion, but I want to change these to rabid, too, as soon as I can get the specific ascended-gear (or are there any exotic rabid-earrings and -rings?).

Ok, the answer seems clear… ;-) Thank you all for your help! I actually overlooked, that some traits / sigils rely on the crits, so rabid all the way.
Please allow me to ask another question: If I go full-rabid-gear, which runes would you recommend. 6x undead or a mixture?

it may be a dumb question, but I’m pretty new to my Necro-twink, which I want to play mainly in WvW and some dungeons. I use a Condition-build (0/30/20/20/0). Is it better to use Carrion- (CondDmg>Pow/Vit) or Rabid-gear (CondDmg>Prec/Tough)?

I’ve “altered” around the last months with my Guardian and Mesmer and though these seem “OP” in comparison to my little Asuran Engineer, I simply can’t resist to get back to my engineer, since it has been the most appealing class to me since start.
I now tried to find a build, which I could use in PVE and (actually most time for me) WvW, without beeing steamrolled and getting some loot-bags… ;-) I came up with this one:
It’s a 30/0/0/20/20 build with grenades and toolkit. For gear I thought of a mix of rampager and knight. I want to be able to survive a few hits (at least until I get re-used to the class enough) and be able to deal enough damage to have fun in WvW.
Since I’m not really good in “building” I would appreciate any comments/suggestions for my idea.

this has been asked a hundred times perhaps, but I also have to. ;-) My first character is a thief, which I pretty much enjoy but feel like a pure dps-class, that can only share support in a group in a very limited way (stealth and two combo-fields, very very little heal,…). I want to run a second char, now with heavy armor and simply can’t decide between warrior and guardian. To be honest, the high dps of a warrior are tempting, but it’s not everything I want from my new character. Perhaps I want too much (something like a jack-of-all-trades), but these are my requirements:
For PVE (dungeons) and WvW I want to:
1. make a decent amount of damage and be able to win a 1vs1-fight, perhaps even a 1vs2 damage-wise.
2. be strongly supportive for a group and not limited to dealing damage alone.
I heard of warrior-builds that heal and share boons through shouts and/or banners if traited. But generally I heard the guardians are higher capable of supporting while dealing less damage.
So what would you think, which class could be better in sharing both, high dps and strong support for a group (heal, boons)??
Any help would be great!
