Huh. This was happening to me in Malchor’s Leap, except I was REALLY teleported into the sky…and water wasn’t even involved! I was just running around and harvesting wood, when all of a sudden the whole game would lag-up and then repaint everything just like you had happen in the video. It happened a couple more times, until finally it actually teleported my character to what I can only imagine is max-height in the map. I looked down, and suddenly my character was free-falling…and I wasn’t even within map boundaries. I landed east of the map transition portal (alive, thanks to glider).

I didn’t bother playing in that map much longer. I /bug reported what I thought might’ve been a hacker in the map, and went to Rata Sum and logged off. #NopeNopeNope

From your post here I’m glad to see this is probably a glitch ANet introduced in a recent patch.

Seconded. You didn’t read it wrong or anything, it just doesn’t do anything close to what its skill description is. I had tried analysis of it in fractals pve and test arenas in pvp, same result. Cleanses 2 condis on use, then follows you around doing nothing…to group our results; my thread with tests is here:

I have tested the Purge Gyro in PvE and PvP, and it appears to not be performing as intended in its skill description, which is as follows for reference:

Character info; level 80 Asura Engineer (Scrapper)

Deploy a purge gyro to remove conditions from you and your nearby allies.

• Conditions Removed: 2
• Recharge Time: 3
• Duration: 15s

Note the skill description does not mention anything regarding radius. This led me to wonder how effective it was, and whether it removed in a radius or single target. Even if it was single target, it would still call to question how far you can be from it before it does not function (ie, its unlisted radius).

Test one. The description suggests it cures condis off of allies, so I tested with a guild member in the swamp fractal; had them run over the red AoE traps at the top-right of the fractal to get conditions(bleed/cripple) applied to them. —- When testing, I had us trigger a few consecutively to go from 6 stacks to 12 stacks of bleed and keep cripple rolling. Result;

Ally;

• The gyro did not remove conditions on-use.
• The gyro did not remove conditions on-pulse.

Myself;

• The gyro removed 2 conditions on-use.
• The gyro did not remove any further conditions on pulse.

Concerned; I had a condition thief in my guild lay conditions on me in a PvP test arena (Legacy of Foefire). At first I ran around, seeing if the gyro could keep up with me as I ran and cleanse conditions while moving. Result;

• The gyro removed 2 conditions on-use, but did not cleanse anything further. I assumed its un-mentioned radius was horrid, and I must have been beyond its range.

I tested above again; having conditions laid on me. This time, I stood completely still and released my purge gyro. The results;

• The gyro removed 2 conditions on-use.
• The gyro floated beside me, made an animation/sound as if it was cleansing, but cleansed nothing.

Summary

It appears this purge gyro is good for only tossing out to remove two conditions, then exploding, because it is useless and does not perform as the skill description suggests.

I did not create a support ticket but I am having the same problem, I’ve tried repeatedly for about 12 hours. I’ve tried numerous amounts. Of all my attempts I’ve only had two $10 transactions go through—each using a different address, each if replicated unable to get success a second time.

I saw no failed transactions from my account. Even so, I have went so far as to call my credit card provider and question them about it- and they don’t even see an attempted transaction at all. Just the two successful, no declines, no attempts.

Edit: I made a ticket. It’s still persisting.
