It demands that I learn the mastery for Exalted Markings before progressing, even after having both completed the quest before and unlocked the mastery, see image below.

To help us expedite investigation, can those experiencing the lockup on accessing the Story Journal please post which step in the personal story the character experiencing the issue is currently on.

Thank you for the reply, I neglected to mention that in my earlier post.

[Sable Nicholétte] is currently on “Victory or Death”.
The other character I had attempted the hero menu with and succeeded was [Anya Terrastance] who had fully completed her personal story.

After extensive testing and trying to troubleshoot I’ve done the following to attempt to remedy this issue:

• Have used the -verify parameter on the shortcut’s target path to start the .dat repair protocol, twice.
• Have gone to lowest possible graphics (including animations) and stripped down my main [Sable Nicholétte] of her armor.
• Have tried other characters – Confirmed to be okay on [Anya Terrastance] without needing to alter anything.
• Have tried removing all mail (including quest related)
• Have tried going into the newest quest instance “Return to Camp Resolve” with a friend hosting.
• Tried opening the Menu in Divinity’s Reach, Lion’s Arch and The Silverwastes.

From this I’ve gathered the following information about this situation.

• My active quest seems to be “Echoes of the Past” having hunted achievements., I’ve found this out using the following method. ¬
• Quest Menu can be opened in a story instance, however you cannot change active quests in an instance.
• Methods of reducing graphics, removing armor, moving to different areas and deleting mail have been ineffectual.
• This only effects my character [Sable Nicholétte], character [Anya Terrastance] can use the menu freely.
• Verifying the .dat file hasn’t turned up any successful changes.
• Attempting to open the Quest Menu locks and freezes the client totally, making a forceful exit/forcefully ending the process the only way to close the client.
• All issues took place after latest patch (as of 18/11/2014 – 19:05 GMT)

Will give more details if desired or discovered.
