It would be nice if instead of the random magic/pet tress rangers had something useful that would allow them to run melee easier. Longbow is too weak and useless in most solo PvE situations. Axes are nice to deal with large groups but that is about it. Sword is useless, torch doesn’t go with anything. Horn is a good speed buff. So we have the longsword and the short bow. Short bow is nerfed, might as well use axes. Not enough durability for longsword.
I am thinking of switching to double axe/ axe horn build. Should be a way to make it work, although might still not be as good as the shortbow was.
It’s fine if something does that damage. It’s bad that there is something else that instantly teleports to a players back.
My opinion best way is to make them real slow like everyone else when they are in combat. That’s the biggest problem. The stealth output right now is powerful enough, giving them crazy mobility during it is just over the top.
Example: Fighting a thief as a ranger. Manage to get them down to 10%. Thief starts running away really fast, and stealths. Pets give chase and run really far away. Standing alone with no pets, everything on cooldown. Suddenly thief appears behind me with 90% hp, stuns, and hits for 10k. Stealths again. This happens every fight. Granted rangers are probably the weakest class at the moment, but the In Combat movement speed is insane.
Being able to stealth 90% of the fight is not a good place to be. I understand why players don’t want to let that go but something has to. Either mobility, stealth, or damage. Sitting in stealth, popping up dealing 10 k, and going back into stealth is a joke.
Rangers are now the #1 one target in every game…they fall fast and don’t fight back. Thief players are having a laugh. ^^ Since the update can’t even get past round 1 in pub tourney. Just face rolled by everything. Too squishy and not enough damage output.
