I say people overestimate what you really need to play surround/eyefinity (on 1080p screens). After having multi monitor for over a year on a myriad of gpu solutions the OP will be fine with a 770 or 7970. Only games along the lines of crisis and what not need the added horsepower. OP you’ll end up with roughly the same performance between those cards for this game. You’ll get 50+ fps maxxed out stock and if you can oc far enough 60fps in uncrowded areas. I prefer nvidia for things like custom resolution (don’t like radeon pro), adaptive vsync, gpu boost 2.0, etc. And depending on what monitors you get custom resolution can come really in handy. This game is also supported by 3d vision. Amd released a frame pacing patch for crossfire but that did not include eyefinity. So right now xfire is good for single screen but still crap for eyefinity

Oh and amazon has the 31.5 inch version of that same 39" 4k monitor slated for next year at $3500

Thanks, this is what I was looking for. I’ve been a nvidia fan since I first learned how to build comps. I knew radeon was just in the 3 screen game longer and didn’t know if it was worth going for. Ill get a 770 and ill pick up another one in a month when BF comes out, if needed. Now just to find some monitors…

so I decide to build a new rig,

Im currently running a amd FX8350 (watercooled) at 4.4 with 8gb ram at 1600 and a GTX 560 fermi 1gb for all the major components.

Im going to keep my amd FX8350 (watercooled ) just bump it up to 4.6 with 16gb ram at 1800(max the cpu will support) and im stuck on which way to go for the Vid.

Im trying to deiced which would be better Eyefinity or Nvidia for mainly GW2 but other games like the new BF4.

Im stuck between the
GTX 770 2gb 256bit, 1536 cuda cores, core clock of 1110mhz , mem clock 7010mhz($400)

or the

Radeon HD 7970 3gb 384 bit, 2048 stream processors, core clock 925mhz, mem clock 1375mhz.($300)

running 3 monitors (probably 24" ones will pick them after I can nail down a vidcard) landscape and a 4th 23"(my current monitor) for temp and oc apps above.

I plan on running the Sabertooth 990fx 2.0 Mobo and have a 1k psu with a case that has more then enough airflow and room.

Anyone have any experience with either cards in a 3 monitor set up and how GW runs it? Any idea which way I should lean?

I would love to see and update on this. I play a necro and have a half condition half power simply because in a group i bring more doing power attacks then condition. I love condition builds and wish I could go full condition and not kitten groups or even myself.

If they cant redo the 25 stack limit make burning and poison more like bleeding or the other way around. I personally feel that as a necro I should be poisoning them instead of bleeding them to death.

Get your facts strait. I play a cond Necro in PVE the last cond nerf was for a necro and was PVP only. It was stated today in a stream with the Spvp dev that cond will get nerfed but for PVP only

Did you take an extended break from the game? I have noticed that the RNG god rewards players who take a long break and come back.

To the people claiming tinfoil, his comment is actually pretty much fact, it just can’t be proven because no one has access to anets scripts and mechanics to get the numbers. It is designed to get people who stop playing, back into the game after they play for 5 minutes to see if they want to play again. Think of it as an extended version of Diminishing Returns that already plagues this game.

People in my guild have logged in after 3 months, and instantly gotten dusk, 20g jewellery, entropy on day 2 of champ loot, after 1 bag, all after 5 minutes of logging in. Other people have many other examples, and it is definitely not tin foil hat worthy.

Also I posted the above since 2 of my very close friends both took a 1 month+ break. came back and threw 4 exotics in the forge, guess wat? both got a precursor on their first try.
While I cannot prove this always works, taking a long break and returning seems to improve the odds significantly.
Getting 7 precursors is just insane, as more than 95% of the game population playing since beta havent even seen a single one drop.

Rng is RNG… nothing more or less.

I’ve played since the first Beta weekend. I stopped playing about 8 months ago, started playing a few weeks ago and i’ve been doing MF and champ bags and not a single thing that’s worth anything. I got cobalt last night that sells for a big 5g.

what did you do? buy the cheapest random exotics and just throw them in and prayed?

It depends on two factors, one ET has to gain at least 50points which they will but SB needs to lose at least 40points which may or may not happen.

Thanks for this, Always knew it was based off of a win vs lose and how much of a score difference been trying to nail down my own formula was getting pretty good with a cross the board guess and getting a 3/3 lol.

I agree something need to be done with the tag, the 100g price tag is alright but it needs to be more. You need to have something to command I say only guild leaders and ones that the GLs appoint within guilds who have obtain a certain amount of guild points.

I guess both SbI and ET gave up or something…

as for the tier one fight it will probably go like this…

SB cant beat Hod so they will attack ET
Hod needs to hit ET simply because ET is the real threat.

If the above happen I think it will look like Hod, Sb and ET.

IF SB doesn’t focuses on ET, ET will take second and depending on how night fighting goes maybe ET on top. More likely it will be Hod, ET and SB.

Maybe I am in the minority, but I was surprised how helpful Ruin has been in WvW considering what I have read on these forums. I don’t see why they are so hated.

The way I look at it is Hod has a huge Fanboy following and holds the number one seat. AA/Ruin/ET are basically the only ones to be able to take out Hod(and we would of if HoD didnt exploit the lords room(yes its and exploit that’s why Anet did something about it same thing with the feathers and the portal gun.)) Ruin always helps, we help each other in the guild and out.

All this hate about Ruin hating on pugs calling them names and useless… is just slander.
We where all pug once, and a server is nothing without its pugs. Im in ruin and I love it so much teamwork, so much fun. I just wish we had more of a night crew this way we can really take on Hod

The fact that they are even competing against HoD is an accomplishment in itself. That’s literally like you watching the movie “300” and laughing at the Spartans for losing.

Currently their is a flying hacker inside WvW he build a treb on top of a mountain that can not be accessed and is targeting our walls.

I know hackers cant be dealt with right away, its just not possible man power wise. With these week games happening a hacker can ruin the game for some time. I just wonder if the response time on things like this will pick up?
