Fully geared with beserker, ruby, + a GC trait build + crit proc (Sigil of Air or similar) + food + buffs from traits/shouts…yeah, 12k is actually a pretty low to midrange number for a full bore crit Killshot.
As has been noted, though, the animation is agonizingly long and if you see it, pretty easy to avoid. Where GC rifle warriors do well is in crowd against crowd fighting, picking off folks on the front or back edges that are not paying attention and are falling behind or overextending. They have to remain very mobile to be really effective and if you close on them, or they get swarmed, they drop fast as hell.
It is not an I Win button, as the high damage comes with the zero survivability trade-off if you catch them solo. One on one, eh, kind of a race most of the time. More dangerous in numbers, but not un-counterable with AoE and solid, mobile, play.
Try running into that 4 rifle warrior, 1 guardian group that knows how to maintain buffs, target call and focus fire… Good times.

I think what some peoples problem is that they think there is winning and losing in WvWvW. Read the forums, the people on the bottom and in the middle tiers are having a blast! Have fun with winning!
QFT.
Makes me think there’s a maturity component to this formula as well. Some folks are content to have a good time during their matches and not threaten to cut themselves over the score at the end of the week.
Sure people like to do well and win, that is a given. Having said that, I think there is a larger, less vocal on the forums, segment of the GW2 player base that have enough depth and experience in MMOs to not speculate on the entire fate of the game based entirely on how panda-grade sadâ„¢ they feel on any given Friday night.
Fix the mechanics, then we can get back to talking about how to evolve the WvW user experience for consistency, longevity and sustainable replay value past points on a scoreboard.
Everything is kind of moot until they unbreak BGs.

Aye, were a fun week indeed, with the sort of back and forth with solid players that makes matches fun and engaging, regardless of the overall score. Some great showing of sportsmanship and restraint at times, and a few lapses here and there, but overall I’ll be looking forward to another match-up with CD somewhere down the road. Well played, lubbers.
