When people found out what the ending was in Guild Wars Eye of The North, some speculated that through the energies Dragon’s gave off (supported by the experiment Asuras did with Primordus) granted them amazing feats. Now I’m not sure on it, I have my doubts – that and I don’t remember if gods: Grenth, Dwayna, Balthazaar, and Lyss had ascended before or after their arrival to Tyria.

dwayna balthazar and Lyss were already ‘gods’ when they arrived in tyra, grenth was the only one to become a god post arrival, and he was still something very close to before gaining his title. I never completed FOW (fissure of woe) in guildwars 1 but i’ve read that you meet balthazar’s brother menzies. This is going a bit off topic but i wonder if menzies and dhuum are still about, and if so are they in a position to meddle with the current state of affairs.

are you lvl 80 and done the personal story? i think that you might have to do them first, not sure, but good news is if u logged in during the week then you’ll unlock it anyway, it’s permanent, so even if it takes a while to fix it (i recommend u send a ticket, if what i said earlier about being lvl 80 etc is false) you’ll still be able to enjoy it

i think you’ve summed up the complaints of alot of people, myself included, in that one post

where does it say that god’s are made of magic? and even if they were how do we know it’s the same form that the dragons consume, the god’s arn’t from this world remember.
and we know there are ways to perform feats equal to that of magic without using magic, hell that’s what the original ritualist profession was based around.
Also, just saying oh the dragons would consume them, or look how easy we beat abbadon, just doesnt hold up.
Firstly if the dragons can just auto beat anything made of magic, or anything that uses magic we would never have been able to defeat zhaitan, secondly on a lore stand point we had the blessings of the other god’s aiding us in defeating a god who was still in chains and weakened from centuries of imprisonment. The reason you found it easy killing him mechanically compared to lich and shiro is a limitation of the mechanics of the game and the fights, had nothing to do with the lore.

it’s not a balancing issue, it’s either a bug or an oversight. Forget loot and exp for a second, if you kill an enemy other than an ambient creature, you should trigger the ‘on the kill traits/sigils’ but this isn’t happening. I’m hoping people are creating tickets about this problem, as that will reach arena net far faster than posting in this forum will

why waste the tonnes of good music from the first game, when u can put it into the second one and double the amount of music for half the work?

I’ve started trying out with role play in a couple of other games, and i’ve started to really enjoy it.
I’ve always had a back story for my character in guildwars 2 but the current guilds I’ve been in don’t role play so I’ve had no chances to expand on it.
I play on aurora glade but I’m fully willing to guest to other worlds to hang out with you other role players.
If you are a role player guild recruiting or some one who knows some role players or a site i can go to please let me know, either through this thread or through ingame email.

hey we’re all norn here (i hope) why not write our own ballads on our own heroic deeds, like the time i danced with war minister shukov and his 2 golems. i can remember the dips and dives, the blinks and portals as i dodged around the arena, the bodies of my fallen comrades scattered on the floor, or when i out drank all the officers of my guild whilst watching the fabled dance of bearded hobo and his affiliates on the steps of LA bank . i have more, some better suited to verse than others, but i’m sure some of the tales you guys could tell would rival my own.

I would like to point out that jotun’s lost their magic TWICE, first time was during a group effort to combat the elder dragons, that was their choice, and the god’s weren’t even on the world at this point. When the god’s did arrive they released the magic in the bloodstone, this period of chaos that followed could very easily be the period that the Thurln refers to when he says the god’s betray them. Considering we don’t know the political landscape of all of tyria (continent and world) during the time of the giants all the way through to the god’s stripping the magic away again, the jotun may have still had vast kingdoms. also his statement that the god’s ‘cherry picked’ their favourite races when returning the magic in measures, their is nothing saying that isn’t true, if they had returned magic in equal measures to all the races then the chaos wouldn’t have ended, it would have just been less chaotic, the fact that it stabilised during this period with some of the newer races (humans) standing on top, when previously they were on the lower rung of power and the norn had to turn to the spirits of the wild to reclaim some of their lost power seriously suggests the gods did indeed play bias.
Finally, apart from a few bits of historical evidence (which in it self can be considered bias) anet has done a superb job making the historical retelling’s realistic in the way they all have slight truths and falsehoods. Thurlns story may not be backed up by the others, and may be done right contradicted, but history is written by the victors, and the jotun definitely not the victors, neither would their version of events have been passed on to others back when it was fresh in peoples minds because the norn and jotun retreated to isolated areas in the north.

After looking at the new ascended armour, i thought hey for fun lets have a mini competition, draw (by hand or digitally) a set of light medium and heavy armour for the game, you can show it on all races or just one u can do one armour type instead of all three, and then lets vote on our favorites !
