What do the symbols at the base of the lion fountain in Lion's Arch mean?

Thank you very much! Now that you mention it, I have seen the language on other stones, but the text was always too small for me. Thanks again!

I was running by the statue and happened to notice the symbols. Some of them are the same and they don’t appear to be in any any repeating/periodic fashion. They also appear in segments of different length. From those observations, I am assuming that they do have a meaning. Does anyone know if they mean anything? Here’s a picture, in case you don’t know what I’m talking about:
My only feedback would be that it kind of took the discovery out of discovery. It was already pretty formulaic (and of course there are dbs which take the mystery out of it), but now it just puts everything in and you just click things till you get something. Will we have a ‘autodiscover’ button next which shows you a list of things you can discover?
But… it was already this way before Monday’s update. The only difference is that now you don’t have to empty your collectibles into your inventory to see it happen. The graying-out of materials that could no longer be used to discover has been in the game since day one. It’s one of the ways I went about making discoveries of potions. Couldn’t figure out how to make x potion? Leave the ingredients you know in place, empty materials into inventory, and look for the non-grayed-out ones.
Even though I agree that the process of “discovering” isn’t really complicated, there isn’t much of a way around it unless the tooltips that state what professions use a material are removed. Even then, databases will eventually be put together and, again, “discovering” won’t truly follow the definition of the word (in a non-role-playing sense). I believe this is just an element of static recipes.
