Misconceptions regarding Level gating.

I thought the level progression and process was great from 1-40 before this patch. After level 40 is when the leveling process was a chore – this is because I had already unlocked all weapon skills and more or less had acquired the utility skills i enjoyed.

Sure I can gain more skills in order to try a new style, and also I need to level up in order to unlock all the traits.

So in my opinion this game has 40 additional levels that are not needed. By level 40 I should have been max; with all traits unlocked. The only thing left to do is unlock the skills that i had not tried.

Summary:
The sense of progression in this game is great from 1-40 . The sense of progression is not good from 40-80. Why? It’s because the game has 40 levels that are not needed.

Please fix 4v5's

I understand what you are saying.

I tried playing spvp over a year ago – 4v5s happened all the time. So I just stopped playing the game altogether.

I recently decided to try spvp again – same problem as before.

It’s rather disappointing.

The buff idea sounds interesting. If it was anything combat related (+power, +vitality, etc…) I could see it becoming a prerequisite for other events. For example: Kill Tequatl to get buff X, then go buffed to the Worm boss which spawns 1 hour later.

Exactly! You can use the buffs from downing one boss to help the server down another.

Also what if there is an incentive to down more than 1 boss in a day? Boss rush mode – if successful your server gets something amazing. What that is – I have no idea. Lol

Interesting idea, but I am afraid this will promote even more server stacking.

Yeah I can definitely your point – especially if you can discover which server has a better success rate. Ok maybe the server stat thing is too much info.

Hello,

I really think these major group events such as Marrionette, Tequatl, Jungle Wurm, Shatterer etc are really awesome…unfortunately I do not have much time to play this game.

In fact I do not even know if I qualify as a casual. I more of a mother goose or “your mom plays more” kind of gamer. I just don’t have the time these days!

Anyways onto my suggestion.

I would love to have a tab/panel that has the stats of my server that I can look at when I am in the game!
- has my server ever downed the marrionette? When was the last successful attempt?
- what is the success rate for my server in downing Tequatl?
- when will the marrionette event be active? (yes I know there are sites that already offer this service and they are awesome.)
- what is the most popular dungeon on my server?

There are many nice things that could be placed in this info tab. The above is just a small sample.

Now my next suggestion. I think there should be server wide buffs given to all players if the server downs one of these major group events / bosses. The buff will last X number of hours.
Ideas for these buffs might be:
- +X% magic find for 24 hours
- +X% power for 24 hours
- +X% of something that is really cool to have…..

Basically the idea is to give a server player base an incentive to destroy these bosses over and over again (more than an achievement, items i don’t want).

What do you think? Good / Bad / Lame?

Experimental gametype: No downed state

I too do not like the down state. Especially in pvp.

Here are some ideas
1) when you are down you do not have any skills. Your team can rez you. Something like this
2) when you are down you only have 2 skills: throw that silly rock or the basic heal one. So all professions have the same skills.
3) Make finishing a downed player much faster.

Re-living living story?

I like this idea. The time machine concept is a nice touch as well.

It is true though that some living story events took place in the open zones and were not instanced. This may require a lot of effort on the developers to create some form of phasing.

Perhaps the idea can be scaled back a bit? Maybe you can use the time machine to relive one of the Living story dungeons?

Overall though this idea is cool.

I want XP from sPvP as well.

I like to play both PvP and PvE – so it would be nice to make progress in my actual level in all facets of the game.

Sure I can play WvW to have a form of PvP and gain levels but a lot of times when I actually have time to play the game – my server WvW population is too low to have fun.
