if GW2 was to have housing it should be something along the likes of Wildstars model to make it interesting and engaging long term.

There are roughly over 100k players playing black desert who would disagree with your point of view since there you are capable of recruiting workers to gather resources and building them homes while it’s an mmorpg.
If you thought in any way my suggestion had to do with customization you should re-read again my whole post because you misunderstood.
There is no mention of skin customization what so ever in my suggestion, all is gameplay through events and missions inside your home instance.
Seeing yourself getting kitten over “Customizing” a look in (and let me remind you) GUILD WARS 2 , where 90% of the content in the game is skin-grinding then you should perhaps look around you and see what game you are playing before commenting in the forums.
Just by how toxic the community can be amazes me.
Not liking an idea can be expressed by not commenting where in this case (something stupid) hence the term “Silent is golden” yet you expressed hate over an idea I didn’t even post.
Expect no further comments from me on this thread as it has gone to the hands of toxicity, lack comprehending what people read, and no feedback what so ever.

If the guild wars 2 forums are being run by little children who attack any idea (regardless of its content) that comes out of any player, then good luck in your developing progression.

@OP

What you’re asking for is something other than the Home Instance. Our Home serves primarily as a story instance, secondarily as a place for the nodes and other things we’ve collected.

I’d say it’s more along the line of the oft-requested player housing. Personally, if they added all that “gotta play/pay to maintain it” junk, I would skip it. If it was just a smaller space to go for your nodes, then sure.

In a non-subscription game that for the most part doesn’t penalize people for taking a break, I don’t see “keep your people fed or they starve” as fitting into Anet’s plan. I also don’t see “hirelings doing your gathering” as fitting Anet’s plan. May as well allow bots if they allow that.

I never understood people like you who think they can speak on the developer’s behalf when they claim to know Anet’s plan, how many people are working on the game and how many resources they have.
First we they claimed the game will never be free to play yet look at it now.
You can say you don’t like the idea but lying right out here in the forums facts you can’t possibly know if you’re not working there is absurd.
Since you already made fun of yourself with your recent comments I’d suggest you calm down and perhaps stop commenting as this thread became more and more toxic by community’s responses.

FYI impersonating a developer is punishable therefor I reported your response.

I didn’t understand what you wrote, it’s not the english, I just don’t understand the point.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I see the forums as a place to hear feedback from players if they liked or disliked my opinion and for developers to decide if it’s good/bad/possible/impossible to implant in the game.

My home instance is my guild. Literally. I dumped a heck load of gold into scribing so I could craft myself a bed, table and lamp so my quiet corner of the city would be a “home”.

I just wish Anet would allow players to loot unlocked nodes in guild halls instead of their home instances so I could “move” into my guild hall good and proper -.-

What does this have to do with my post?

I didn’t know where to post it so i came here, feel free to move this topic to where it belongs.

My personal opinion after viewing hoelbrak’s home instance – I think it should be similar to divinity’s reach style with houses and so should the rest if they’re not.
Reason behind other than style, is to make you feel like you’re a small mayor of your own village.
Now to the suggestions – I suggest adding more deph in your home instance by adding available workers to hire for work and gather resources for you.
They will require home and food supplies to maintain, otherwise they will leave.

Home instance should contain mostly an empty field which you fill with houses, farms, small mining spots and market.

The home instance can have its own progress level which is increased with villager’s happiness by their comfort ratio (comfort entities are, food consumption and enough houses) and experience gathered from home instance related missions.

From the moment you’ve unlocked the home instance, you are free to start your home instance related missions, which are missions to help you gather resources for your home, make some currency, level up your home instance and give you some tools to defend yourself in home instance related events.

events can occur in your home instance after a certain progress level-checkpoint. The higher the village progress level, the more event types can occur.

Event types suggestion: Sickness – villagers work % slower, to cure it you have to craft certain object using mission gathering resources.

Enemies raiding, attacking your villagers and every villager which is down, if not revived in certain time can be lost, but a new villager can be recruited as always.

On top of all, villagers can be upgraded to guards which will cost extra resources and currency.
they will require training so that if you wish to tell your guard to go back to be a villager, there will be no exploit of turning all the villagers to guards instantly upon raids.

Thank you very much for reading my suggestion and opinion, feel free to share yours in your comment section below

Guild hall presenting vendors 9/10/2016

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Steps of bug verification:
———————————————-

  • Go to any guild hall you present.
  • Start a conversation with a vendor which only displays his items if you present the
    guild.
  • While the items are shown, abandon your guild presentation.
  • Attempt to purchase any item while the display is still shown.

Expected result : The vendor should have its item display no longer shown until you present the guild again.

Actual result: The vendor allows you to purchase any item until you close the display and attempt to start it again.
