Alright, so we can dye our armor, dye our gliders, and we’ve seen from the demo, dye our mounts. Our mounts. Big raptor we can color his back. I think that’s neat.
I always thought that our pets for rangers though…kinda sucked. There’s no variation at all, they all kind of look the same if they are of the same species.
If were given the option to dye our “main” pet or something, even just one, I’d dig it. Even if it just had one dye channel, something to make them less bland. I came from a mmo where there were tons of variations in the pet class where almost all the creatures looked different, so you had a variety of different creature styles to choose from, even if they had the same stats or attacks. It feels like rangers in this game kinda got the short end of the stick on that. Maybe I just got spoiled in the last mmo I played, who knows.

Now it’s 4 years later and the ability to turn OFF pet names still isn’t in the game. Seriously guys…is it that hard or do you just not give a crap about making your customers happy. It’s embarrassing how much you’ve managed to ignore such a simple request.
If you are here, then you must be reading the rest of the forum. There are many many many many many other people with simple requests like flying mount and new hair styles.
I’m sure the devs will get around to fixing this someday.

This is literally a mechanic that should have existed since day one…and people have been waiting for years. Any update on this even? I still, STILL see no way to turn it off.

I’ve had this game since it first came out, and had honestly lost hope about it ever improving for Mac. I’m glad I finally checked the forum and saw this. The new client runs much, much better than the old one that was in beta for…years?
I am able to run at max graphics perfectly, even in the most populated areas, though a bit laggy but that’s to be expected in such areas, and I’m doing all of this on just my laptop. I’m quite thankful.
The only strange thing I noticed…is that it saves screenshots as bmps instead of jpgs or pngs for some reason. I had to change it to upload it here.
Other than that, finally glad to say that this game can actually advertise that it’s for mac without feeling like it’s somewhat false advertising.

I have a similar problem on my Macbook. What I do to keep the heat down is to use an external fan underneath it to try to dissipate the heat. I have a laptop desk with a built in fan that does the job pretty nicely and keeps my laptop from getting too hot.
If your laptop gets too hot, it will do an emergency shutdown to prevent itself from frying, but it would be nice to avoid being in-game then suddenly having a black screen.

I know the latest OS for Mac is Mavericks, and is free to upgrade to, but I’m quite nervous to make the call.
I already found out my photoshop and other programs will not work on it, and was wondering if anyone knows if the beta client for Guild Wars 2 will still function normally because it doesn’t update regularly.
Has anyone done the free upgrade already and can confirm that it still functions?
