Down state is not bad and actually a refreshing design, however, some stuff needs to go like:
1. Mesmers’ and Thieves’ downstate…compared to others it takes ages to kill them
2. The damage output, which is significant, for someone who is downed and supposedly out of the fight
3. Warrior’s getting up (forgot its name) is also a bad joke. Especially when you are outnumbered you most likely won’t be able to finish the warrior off in time and then he adds 15 more seconds of pain
4. Finishing someone from stealth…it is such a joke. Play a necro who has usually no access to stability (grandmaster talent in a little bit borked line which also adds only 3 sec stability anyway) nor stealth and is rather squishy.
I heavily agree with 2 and 4. I don’t understand why the downstates of mesmer/thief are so broken. If a thief can finish in stealth, I should be able to finish in mist form.
Whenever I go to Heart of the Mists, my spvp spec is always missing the major traits that are the same as my normal traits (ex. I use bolt to the heart and aeromancer’s alacrity). I always have to re select them (note it is only the major trait slots, my trait points are all allocated the same.)
It only happens with these traits.
Does this also happen to you guys? Is this an Elementalist specific bug or not?
On top of this I don’t get why we have horrible base health and base armor, we basically are set up to fail in the current spvp environment. We can’t gear to make up all of these deficits and still do decent damage.
Arenanet, I think you have some serious game imbalances in spvp. As a d/d Elementalist with a decently high amount of toughness/vitality, and a 0/20/0/20/30 build it is almost impossible to deal with any competent thief, warrior, or mesmer.
I do not understand why you nerfed whirlpool, because that was the only way for Elementalist to be viable in Capricorn…
I also do not understand why ride the lightning, and burning speed seem to not function over half the time.
Why doesn’t Elementalist have a weapon swap? Even if it had a 1 minute cooldown in combat, it would be better than being unable to deal with half of the classes due to the lack of long or short range spells.
Just out of curiosity when are you going to make Eementalist viable in spvp as dps, I really don’t think that I should be restricted to only being able to be staff heal/tank.
