Anybody that is duelling in WvW in any other location than the Obsidian Sanctum that is an area with high traffic of players deserves to get annihilated beyond recognition.
The amount of times people cry in chat when they get killed outside of SM while “duelling” is too kitten high. Somehow people think that they’re entitled to have their “duels” be respected by everybody as an official aspect of the WvW game mode, and everybody who sensibly thinks that “red is dead” is an honorless idiot with no manners that needs to get a life.
If i’m roaming in WvW maps and i see a 1v1, chances are big that i will join the fray. And if i see you killing dolyaks or hitting camps/sentries before returning to your insanely stupid duelling location right outside of SM you can whisper “I was duelling bro” all you want after dying.
Until guild halls, and their arenas in HoT are released you are cool to duel in OS, pvp arenas or the most remote location in the borderlands you can find. These are viable locations where you’re almost guaranteed not to be bothered. Find a guy you want to fight in the borderlands while roaming, invite him to your party, and say; “Hey bro lets have some fights in OS.”
Conclusion;
If you come across people fighting 1v1 in any of the WvW maps other than the Obsidian Sanctum, feel free to toss fire at them, stab them in the back, or pew pew them.

Hello!,
I’ve been playing a lot of sinister trap thief in WvW lately, and i’ve been noticing a lot of times where my traps don’t stealth me upon usage. (While using runes of the trapper obviously)
So after some mucking around on my thief and ranger i’ve noticed that;
1. Dodging after placing your trap will not grant you stealth.
2. Shadowstepping by use of Infiltrator’s Arrow after placing your trap will likewise not grant you stealth. ( I’m quite sure this is not the case with Steal and the Shadowstep utility skill. )
3. Related to #2. Using either Shadow Strike, Cloak and Dagger or Disabling Shot (and not hitting a target ) after placing your trap will likewise not grant you stealth. (Occurs both while standing still and on the move.) I have not tested this with weapons other than P/D and SB, or on the ranger. It might just be related to certain weapon skills.
My thanks in advance for looking into this, i’d very much appreciate it if this was verified as either a bug or intended effect for the rune, as i could not find any information regarding this issue.

Yes please to the removal of all “Bro” lines, and welcome to every line that makes Shiro sound like a grudge holding former bodyguard turned assassin/mass murderer who’s been gradually turned insane and has been in the employ of a god that tried to drown the world in darkness upon his return.
We can use Jalis for the cheesy united we stand lines as an alternative.

I agree with mostly everything on this post,
Damage wise revenant is totally in a good spot, i’ve played both full damage, full condition damage, and a variety of hybrid options and i have no complaints there.
(Especially the Mallyx utility set is very strong as condition spec)
Adding weapon swap was also benificial in my opinion, though i do wish we had another condi weapon set (Mind that mace/axe is quite decent)
Defense wise revenant could be better, i found myself pretty much locked into taking the Invocation and Retribution lines to stand a chance vs CC heavy specs. And heavy condition pressure can be largely ignored if using the corruption trait line. (specifically the resistance on using a mallyx utility)
There also doesn’t seem to be a need for both energy cost AND cooldowns on the weapon skills. The energy management itself also needs a bit of balance.
The rework of hammer skill #3 is perfect. I had pretty much the same idea of it being a teleport to target area linked into a port back to original position. (Or at least a teleport to target area)
All in all, it’s a step up from the last time i played revenant, but it still suffers from a variety of issues.

It doesn’t seem like a bad idea to include an option to toggle off dialogue sounds from the invoked legends, i personally wouldn’t use it as it would take away from the feel of the profession for me, but it’s often better to have a choice.
I’m not quite in the “You’re being posessed” camp on the revenant, it’s more like you’re pulling a fragment (Or as i think the devs say “echo”.) of the legend into current Tyria. Some invoked legends demand you release them, so being possesed doesn’t seem quite right.
I’d like to think my revenant is the one holding the reins, and infuriating mallyx & shiro specifically seems quite entertaining. Hence why some of shiro’s “I’ve got your back bro” lines don’t sit well with me. On the other hand i really enjoy the “I demand you release me” lines.
As for what glint could sound like, you’d be surprised. I’ll include a link to a clip of her GW1 cinematic where the chosen heroes speak with her in her lair.
She sounds rather snake-like in the first game (She does have a fierce dragon roar if you mess with her eggs.), i’d imagine they’d try for a more draconic voice in GW2 but try to keep the feel of a female mesmer’ish/serpent tone.

Overall i’m really impressed with the voice overs of the legends, it adds a lot to the feel of the revenant.

There is no need for different “noises”, the legend you are channeling is making the sound, not the player character. Why would Shiro suddenly become a kawaii canthan schoolgirl and start talking in a female pitch. “I’ve returned to defend you (senpai)”. (PS that line is horrible even in his own voice).
As for female legends, sure there is a lack of them at the moment. imo because it’s hard to find a female legend that made a big impact on the world (Jalis already is a bit weak on his renown) , and then link their “powers” to the current variety of “specs”
One might think of Jora from the norn or Livia from the humans (Or the ministry of purity leader Reiko, but i guess glint is already the mesmer-y legend ), mabey even Oola from the asura or Pyre Fierceshot’s grandaughter ( i think?), Kalla Scorchrazor.
You soon find yourself looking at mostly human characters. (e.g. Varesh Ossa) and nobody wants only human legends.
As much as more female legends could be totally awesome, i’d also rather they include impactful legendary characters/monsters/creatures with unique powers, rather than force a female legend.

Did anybody else get this insane “Meditation of the Reaper” vibe when they showed the “Overload Water” skill on the tempest POI?.
https://youtu.be/sIQNnE6LyX4?t=4m
Was hard to see the animation from the front but it still looked like a near perfect fit for Shiro’s distinctive heal skill in GW1. Just recolour or remove the bubble and shazam!.
Not saying they have to trash the current heal now, but an assassin can dream right?.
