Guild Wars 2

Getting this too on my son’s PC.. Used to be my PC and no hardware has changed.

Last 2-3 days it was fine but last night and today it’s like his character is in slow motion. Attacking, running and interactions with NPC’s are all slow yet we are getting from 30-60fps on the graphic settings windows.

It’s unreal and of course thought it was on our side first but I’ve checked all I know (been in IT for 20+ years) and it’s nothing that I can put a finger on OTHER than GW2. All other games, even at Ultra settings are crisp and fast yet GW2 in the last 48 hours has gone to down into the toilet.

Again, I ran GW2 on this same PC now since launch without issues with the hardware. No new drivers have been installed between when it was running great and last 48 hours.

Intel Core 2 Duo – E8500 (overclocked to 4.25gh on custom water cooling)
4g RAM and 7200 RPM Western Digital HDD
Windows 7 SP1

Hoping to hear what comes out of this because being the resident IT guy here at the homestead it’s driving me nuts hearing him complain about this issue and to me and now, all signs point to something on the game side (coding, net code, latency)

Morbridae, it was the portion before that.. I was unable to advance the portal count from 4/5 so the crystals, according to the guide, are next.

I placed a ticket in game, came here and posted and got some great responses. I just kinda gave up and went to another invasion for loots and low and behold it completed 5/5 so now I need to continue on the crystals and things thereafter.

Thanks and glad I got progression finally (just odd it was an hour or so after I raised a ticket)

Well, issued a ticket and the next portal I got the 5/5 finally and moving on to the crystals.. Not sure what but as I said opened a ticket and the very next one it was done.

Thanks for the link and I’ll review but I went and talked to the people the places in Gendarran and then got the communicator. I’ve been to numerous events even enough to gather 2 shoulder ticket amounts (which are given out upon succeeding in the event end) and yet he won’t let me progress.

I mean, it could be me and I"m missing something but let me review the guide again and see where I may have faulted; although I don’t think I"ve missed something obvious.

Yeah, I’ve used the communicator and he tells me I need to be in range of 5 portals when closing and the device is calibrated yadda.. so I’ve used it as well gone to him in DR just to make sure and same response

I have 13 achievements done out of the Clockwork event and yet I still am unable to talk to Vorrp and get into the Playhouse. He tells me he needs data from 5 Portal closings with the communicator.

I have the Portal Close done and 9/13 maps so shouldn’t I have reached the 5 map to progress the story more? Help!

Alot of times, especially when I zone, when an existing player’s captured pet is at the spawn with me I get the `Charm` prompt but the pet is already captured by the other user. You need to find a Juvenile pet of the type you want in the wild and hit the `Charm` prompt near them.. This has worked for me 100% of the time if I can locate and get close enough, without dying, to the charmable pet.
