A downside to this is no server nationalism which help make the WvW experience enjoyable in my opinion, on the other hand the experience would be a lot more fluid and encourage guild loyalty and player movement
All I know is, if servers lose their identity any more than they already have, I seriously doubt I’ll continue playing GW2.
I kind of like the 2v2v2 idea someone else posted. It mixes things up a bit, gives WvW a purpose for lower tier servers, and lets servers remain as they are. However I can see a lot of blame going around (i.e. “you only won because you got paired with a better server”). Not sure if it might also complicate the ratings system (what if server A is paired with server B, and they both win despite server B basically not showing up at all?
They could go up in rank despite not deserving it?). But still… it’s an idea.
Had a guild mate say the same thing – I think he said two levels for 1-400. Curious if it’s intended because that’s a change that I’m sure people would like to have known beforehand.
I feel much more engaged, and enjoy Ele more, when constantly switching atunements. To be honest, it’s probably the thing I like most about the class.
WvW is the only reason I’m still playing.
When the game came out, I was excited about everything in general, as I think the ways the game managed to separate it self from other typical MMOs was a breath of fresh air at the time. But the personal story lost my interest the farther I got into it, the living world and dynamic events got boring after the first time through, and at least to me, dungeons were a snooze-fest from the very beginning.
But WvW has lost a great deal of its charm as well. It still has some awesome fights, which is still really fun, but often what happens in between is pretty boring. Not quite structure bashing in Eve Online boring, but it almost feels close at times. Playing the same maps over and over again with sparse, minor feature updates has gotten way too old. Some new maps that looks different and play a bit differently (not quite Eotm differently) would be would be extremely welcome and dramatically revitalize my interest in the game (maybe the map style could be on a weekly rotation instead of adding additional battlegrounds or changing existing ones). As would something like a higher risk/reward factor for deaths/kills, and perhaps more incentive to win every week. Things like that.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s also disheartening to see so little new content in so long in other areas of the game for those who enjoy things like dungeons. A steady stream of new armor sets would be nice as well, skin wise I feel like I got everything I wanted for all of my characters ages ago.
The one other thing I’d really like to see is a new class. Existing and potential balance issues aside, I think it’s worth the risk to breathe some new life into all areas of the game.

There are always plenty of servers with room – usually only one or two list as full.
I know it’s not ideal from a personal point of view, but it wouldnt be good for the game if they let everyone pile onto the same 2-3 servers.
I’m not saying it should be permanently available for anyone to join, but it would be nice if there was ever even a small window to join.
Because, like I said, otherwise, I’m faced with a tough decision. The WvW community on my server is part of the reason I even play the game to begin with, so I don’t want to have to abandon it.
I just had several friends get the game, but unfortunately for me, I’m on a seemingly permanently full T1 WvW server. On one hand, I’d like to be able to get my friends into WvW, as it’s all I really play the game for anymore, but on the other hand, I’ve been on this server since launch day, really like it here, and really don’t want to leave.
I’ve checked the server status consistently for the past week, and even at random and extremely off-peak hours (if it matters, since I assume it might be based on accounts registered and not number of people currently playing), the only server that I ever see open up is TC, mine is always full.
Do they expand server capacity periodically, like I think they used to? Is there any point in waiting it out and seeing if it opens up in a week or two?
Here’s what I suggest:

Only things you really need to change are your weapons and your shoulders. This setup gives you pretty much the perfect mix you need for D/D. You can of course use exotic trinks instead of ascended, just be sure to use the knight’s stat jewels.
Would this still work without the ascended gear?
I just got back into GW2, and my main is actually a Thief who I need to farm ascended gear for first, but I remember enjoying playing Ele too. Right now I have her in full Knight’s gear (except for 2 Valk trinkets) for some weird reason.
Yeah, really don’t see the downside to this. Those popups are just annoying when they don’t need to be.
I would REALLY like something like this. I always wondered why this wasn’t done from day one.
Just any option to make the “You are in overflow” and queue pop up dialogues less intrusive. Somewhere smaller and off to the side. Or just an option to get rid of them with the ability to control whether you want to enter the queue by right clicking where it says “Overflow” on the minimap or something.
This is such a small change that would make life so much less annoying at times.
